I Miss Chester | Linkin Park- Friendly Fire [Official Music Video FIRST TIME REACTION 

It's crazy how deeply so many of us were impacted by Chester's death. I think, like you though, their music helped us through difficult times, and it's devastating that we couldn't do the same for Chester. It's like we lost a friend who understood us. At least that's how I feel.

I was 3 or 4 years old when Elvis died, I remember being in the local town centre and people were crying and saying "did you hear, Elvis died?" I didn't understand the fuss at the time and as I grew up I couldn't understand how people had been so invested in a singer until I saw the announcement about Chester. I'd just come out of the cinema half a world away and was checking my phone, I turned to my husband and said "oh my god, Chester Bennington has died" and had to fight back tears. I understood then. I got the strength to leave an abusive relationship through the music of LP, they were a beacon in a very dark time of my life. I'll listen to anything you react to :)

This was definitely difficult to watch. Bittersweet & beautiful. The moment the footage of Chester walking in from their original 2017 session for the song. Oh, it hurts. The boys just sitting there listening to the track...keeping Chester alive. Making him proud, post mortem. We loved him life & will always have him in our hearts. It's like they knew the world is still going through it & we needed to hear the pure love that was Chester. RIP❤

This was hard to hear. I'm glad we have other vaulted songs, but they hurt. Leave Out All The Rest is my ringtone and has been since June 2021. The One More Light Live versions of many songs are beautiful!

I would be very open to reliving Linkin Park in this way, and maybe some of the Mike Shinoda like Post Traumatic

Somewhere i belong was the one for me. I was in such a dark place at the time. Luckily, I had someone who helped me through it. I'll forever be grateful to LP for saving my life.

So many of these lyrics hit so damn hard now, I’ll always miss not just Chester but the whole band, it’s bittersweet but I appreciate everything they are drip feeding us ❤❤

Such a beautiful person gone too soon. I had tickets that week to see them in concert and the news hit, I cried. Life is so short and we never know what is going on with someone, we should be polite more, honest more, and loving each other more even if we do not agree, even if they hate us.

My oldest son passed away (May 29th, 2017) in between Chris Cornell n Chester Bennington...No fucking words💔 For me Linkin Park n Ren are my 2 favorite artists of all time ( yes I can say that cuz im 68 yr old grandma n Muzic as always been my salvation)...Right or wrong (I don't care what people think) muzic is MY religion...

Grew up on LP also. Hybrid Theory and Meteora are still 2 of my all time favorite albums. I can listen straight through front to back! Would absolutely love to relive the old songs like that! Keep it up

I'm from Russia, I'm 35, i grow up with Chesters voice. I had cassete tapes, and listented before going to sleep. He made my cry, and made feel not alone. However lonely, broken i felt, it always was like, he gets it, he understands. His death left a hole in chest. Man, that i never saw. I miss him so much. Cliff, thank for this. Every word you said, 100% true

I would love reactions to their music. Papercut, Castle of glass, crawling , in the end, one step closer, breaking the habit, somewhere I belong, bleed it out…all their songs were great! My brother introduced me to Linkin Park. I continued listening long after he stopped. Their music has gotten me through some tough times. They made me feel like I wasn't alone in feeling what I was feeling. I was actually going to buy tickets to see them on the upcoming tour when the news came out of Chester's passing. Seeing and hearing this is bittersweet but I am glad that they chose to share these songs with us.

He was such an amazing artist and his music was such an important part of my life. His passing broke my heart. He is missed. Rest in peace,Chester ❤

I miss Chester, and I miss Linkin Park. When Chester passed, I was struck with the loss of his voice, how it had given life to so much music that deeply mattered to me, and I would never hear that on anything new again. I was struck by regret, knowing I'd never see them live again. But today, what hurt the most is just missing him and the space he filled in the band; his smile, his goofy nature, the behind the scenes videos of them being silly together. I've come to terms with missing new music, new concerts, but it's so hard to accept I can't see him smile and goof around anymore. Seeing him smile in this video was such a gift ❤

Thank you for sharing your reaction. I think we're about the same age, I've been with them since I was 12 when Hybrid Theory dropped in 2000. They were my first concert in 2002 at 14. I really appreciate feeling like I'm sharing this experience with my fellow LP fans since I don't have anyone in real life that I share this with. LP helped me so much, and I wouldn't be here today without them. So thankful to have the music we have, and that the band is putting out these unreleased tracks. RIP Chester, we will carry on your legacy of love and light

LP to the first degree. Besides the studio albums , both the jay-z collab and mike's solo stuff are recommended. Chester was also in another band (grey daze if I remember correctly) .About a year after Chester's passing Mike brought out post traumatic , it's basically Mike dealing with the loss of his friend and it really helped me a lot . When Chester died ,it felt like a part of me died . My little brother called me to tell me the news and I think we both cried.

Chester, as corny as it may sound, gave me the strength to continue living... it's been almost 7 years, but I still don't believe that Chester is no longer with us... I saw them live here in South Africa in 2012. I can still remember the surprise on Mike Shinoda's face when we sang along with Crawling, not realising that they were so well known here. RIP Chester.

If you ever have 3 hours available (lol), you should check out the tribute concert Linkin Park did for Chester a few months after he passed away. They had a bunch of other artists come out for every song. If you only check out 1 song from the show, it needs to be Numb.

I 100% want you to go back through their entire discography. Starting with Hybrid Theory, Meteora and definitely need to do the side albums. Re-animation and collision course. I will say this as a grown man (38 years old), I've never had a death, of a person I didn't personally know, affect me until Chester passed. I still remember exactly where I was when I heard about it on the radio. This video is one of the hardest to watch because they actually have footage of Chester in the booth singing this song, that's something we haven't seen new in almost 7 years. So please go through LP discography. I'll be here for every single song.

Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, Meteora... these three albums are the only ones I know from start to finish. I know every beat and every single switch and each word spoken. I know what numbers on each album were what and I know what extras were on the original special editions. They are the only ones I've done this to. Without the LPU, I would not have made it out alive. I'm a s--cide survivor. Don't ask how many times I've tried. I can't give an honest answer. Linkin Park always brought me to a place in my head where I could escape reality and the pains I was going through. Last year, when they dropped "Lost", I cried so much because of how hard it was to hear him again. It took me to a place that I've left behind. So many of my favorites, all by the same cause. Chester Bennington, Robin Williams, Jason David Frank. Besides my family, each one made me drown with tears when it happened. I'm so far removed from where I was before. I never thought it would get better, but it did. Not only did life get better, but it far exceeded what I thought I could ever do or hope to accomplish or be worth. Life is worth it. No matter how hard things may look, you CAN overcome it. You are always stronger than you think you are. You just have to give YOURSELF a chance.

RIP Chester.

I listened to hybrid theory every day basically for a year if not longer. It's definitely one of my favorite albums front to back. I'm glad I got to see them live during the hybrid theory time frame. It was an amazing show

When they released the 20th anniversary Meteora album last year, it has 2 Vault tracks and they’re both 🔥 I own every Linkin Park album along with “Grey Daze” “Fort Minor” and “Mike Shinoda” so there literally isn’t a song that I don’t like! Also, the mash up album they did with Jay Z was dope too! Can’t wait to see what you do next 😎

I loved Linkin Park from the very start. Was in my 20s. And then I had my boys and from the time the were very little, they LOVED LP. In 2014, we were living in Denver at the time and LP was playing at Fiddler’s Green (2 mikes from our house!). We didn’t have a lot of money but we had a credit card and my husband said DO IT. And when my boys got home from school (10 and 16 at the time), we surprised them with the tickets. It was the best concert I have ever been to. I will cherish that memory with my family seeing our fav band forever . We were in a diner eating out when we heard the news of his death and all 4 of us sat st the table and cried. I sure wish he were still here. Big ramble, sorry 😕 Just got me thinking…

Final masquerade, off the Hunting party album was deep, i was lucky enough to catch them live in west palm beach floin 2015, with AFI, and 30 seconds to mars opening for them, and Jared Leto they all put on a hell of a show

AI almost ruined this song for me. With AI covers in Chester's voice appearing on youtube lately, you almost have to wonder if the band could/should use all of their recordings to create the most complete voice map of Chester ever? I'm not saying that I believe that they did that already, but its not like we don't have the technology for it. Would they let the fans know or would knowing diminish the impact of the lyrics?
