Thanks, I appreciate it :) I find that most games, movies, shows, etc, that maybe are seen through more rose-tinted glasses, usually don't hold up when I revisit them. This isn't the case for Pokemon though; I actually really enjoyed playing through the old games to get footage for this video. So I don't think it's just nostalgia.

Yeah, it's really hard to imagine they're looking to change much when the series is selling better than ever.

Yeah I've heard people really like those. I've tried them, but I never had a GameCube so I don't have the same fond memories.

I gather that you're probably about 9 years old, but... it seems like you didn't pay very close attention to the video. I never said I want Pokemon to look photo-realistic; in fact, if you look at my channel you'll see that the very next video I put out was about my love for stylized, non-realistic graphics. Pokemon's problem is not that it doesn't look realistic, it's that it looks like shit. There are plenty of games with similar art styles to Pokemon that look wildly better; even on the same console. "The battle system cannot change for competitive" is a poor reason to not change something. Yes, there's an extremely niche community of people who would probably be upset, but the vast majority of people would probably be super down with Pokemon moving away from purely turn-based combat. Additionally, I literally said in the video that I've personally never been a huge fan of the battle system, I've never gotten really into it, and I don't plan to in the future. It's very shallow for casual players (ie, me and *most people*), tedious and not fun. Finally, I never said that Pokemon had "deep lore." I said it had *coherent* lore. It had simple, effective lore that made logical sense in-universe. Like with the graphics, there are countless examples of games that do this better than Pokemon. A great example is the Zelda series. No one would say it has "deep lore," but it does have fairly coherent lore that is beloved by fans. Sorry if this came off as rude, but your "problems" are things I directly addressed in the video.

@@poke_ I not nine I'm twenty the graphics for most part are unnecessary. I never been big on graphics because I play alot of retro games. While I would like Pokemon to be more stylized, I do know why it not to make it be similar to the anime. Pokemon is turn base style rpg at least the main series. While I do get that your not a big fan of turn base that doesn't change it that it won't work in the main series it would be fine for a spin off or something like legends. But like I said before it is a dumb idea. Pokemon lore is different it mostly focus on the region rather than the Pokemon themselves. When you try to think how all the legendary fit with arcsus it stupid to even try for multiple timeline and universes. To me game freak was trying to make a series with deep lore but if to complicated. Right now Pokemon lore is similar to Mario don't think to much about it. Also Zelda do have a complicated lore with timelines

Competitive Pokemon is extremely boring and I have no interest in it. I just want the base games to be more fun for people who aren't five years old.

Personally I found the "roam around the open world and catch Pokemon" gameplay loop in Arceus really uncompelling. It's awesome that you enjoyed it though! I agree, it's a good sign that they're at least willing to try new things, although it did seem fairly derivative and late to the party.
