TamaTown Unfortunately closed its servers years before many thought to record footage for it. while that won't provide the best form of video game preservation, it will offer users an experience they can go back to and reminisce of the old days. this video aims to achieve that by compiling all known footage that was found on youtube.

This video shows Locations like: School, Pre School, Arcade, Mall, Tamatower, Town Hall, Food Court, Travel Center, Parents, Grand Parents, Office, Bank, Hospital, Post office, Station: which takes you to three places like Mame city, Guruguru Town, and Patchi Forest.
The Tamagotchi shutdown on february 6th 2013 meant that content that was only available from the website is no longer available as Bandai Namco focuses their efforts on newer projects within the IP
this channel is for people looking to rediscover their nostalgia from the past, or for a new generation of kids who have no idea what these things are and want to know more information on a said subject. I want this channel to serve as a careless Wikipedia of fun content, with a dab of retro gaming content. I want people to be able to recall their own moments from my videos and relive their own nostalgia

I for a while was convinced that I had imagined this game as a child and that my imagination while just playing with my tamagotchis brought this game to life. I scoured the internet to find proof otherwise and I’m so glad I found your video.

It's crazy to believe that most of this is lost media now... It was once there, but now it's gone... I doubt Bandai would been kind of us to release the flash files, since this is now legacy format, but Tamatown was definently a very special game to me. Im typing this out by listening to the main theme song, though I wish we got High Definition versions of those tracks.

I miss TamaTown so much. I remember when I last visited the website in 2013 and saw the announcement. It's a shame it shut down, even more sad that they didn't revive it. Unfortunately Bandai has taken a totally diferent direction for Tamagotchi and they don't seem willing to offer any retro experience to their old fans. I just hope that maybe the fans themselves could bring TamaTown back online someday. The only I have left from that era, is my tamagotchi of version 4.5 (it still works! currently raising 8th gen) and the memories. I'm happy that I have these to remember, and keep the legacy allve.

Oh wow… something I haven’t seen in more than a decade. I was very crazy about Tamagotchi and Tamatown and wow! I don’t even have words. I appreciate the nostalgia trip.. it’s bringing me back memories of a closer older friend who used to take me to TamaTown and help me unlock new characters. The little pixels moving and waiting patiently for it to evolve was such a nice memory..

I have very clear memories of going to Tamatown and spend a lot of time there after school. There is something very charming about the old internet, the transition between the archaic internet of the 90's and the social media boom of todays web. going to the internet from an old windows XP, watching Flash animations and play with movie maker and paint were times that will never come back, the state of the internet today is very different from how it used to be... it's not a bad thing, everything always changes, and I still really enjoy how the web is right now and I wouldn't prefer anything else, but man, those were really fun times. If I could surf the mid 2000s internet again, Tamatown would be one of the places I would definitely visit.

I remember you could also play rock paper scissors, walk around town, you also had a room that you could decorate I believe, it’s been so long but it was so fun back in the day!

The reason rebuilding the site is basically gone nowhere due to one reason: We do NOT have all the SWFs (shockwave flash file) we have the English town.swf, the german mall.swf and like king.swf and a few others. We don't have ANY games we don't even have the arcade menu, or any of the other towns like all of it is missing. Anyway you briefly mentioned V5 which actually entirely saved in archive, (only missing character sprites) which is something I successfully got working in about a week ..

Hey there! Are you needing any of the music files? Back in the day I ripped them off the site. I have the town hall, arcade, mall, food court, and travel theme in addition to the funky V3 loop as mp3s if you need them.

Nice video! There’s a few inaccuracies in this video which is understandable due to the nature of the topic: 1. I actually produced a password generator for the V3 and V4 a couple years ago, so for the mostpart the items aren’t considered lost / unused media anymore 2. Some of the points regarding the school, skill points and music actually only refer to the devices themselves rather than Tamatown 3. A few of the games referenced in the V3 section are actually V4-only; this is a confusing point because a few of the locations which were present in both versions actually have different games in each 4. The CD-rom games actually aren’t related to Tamatown I actually have a website which aims to determine / document how much of the content is lost and what can be pieced together, I have a feeling posting the link will make RU-vid’s spam filters block it though haha

I don't remember all that much about tamatown since I was only young when it was around, but I do remember absolutely FARMING the claw machine. That thing could make your tamagotchi suuuper rich in such a short amount of time, you just had to collect the golden gotchi bags. There was an item limit of I think ten items, so you would have to disconnect, send your prizes from the computer to the device, reconnect, play the claw machine, get the prizes, etc. I spent many an afternoon doing that and maxing out my gotchi points so I could buy anything from the shop! I also fondly remember the music shop, there was a dj function or something where you could mix together beats and instruments. It's a very faint memory, but I remember I very much enjoyed it!

When I was little we didn’t have much growing up, no internet or cable. My mom would always take my little brother and I to the public library, at least once a week. And my favorite thing was going to the computers just to play this game🥹 miss Tamatown so much 💕

i miss tamatown so much! i recently rebooted my tamagotchi connection thinking ill definitely do that and visit tamatown the website only to know its been erased from existence for years now...... THIS LEFT ME SO SAD. RIP tamatown & thank you for the video....brought back so many memories & i hope somehow it resurrects back to life :c.........................................

does anyone else remember some kind of popularity contest on tamatown? this is driving me crazy bc i feel like im the only one who remembers it. perhaps it had to do with the airport but it was perhaps an island-themed contest? like i remember there temporarily being more on the left side of the desk (5:57) i remember crying as a kid that kuchipatchi was knocked out and mametchi won (because i felt he was 'overrated'!!)

The closest thing to the tamatown website is currently the app for the second most recent tamagotchi release being the tamagotchi on/ meets (Japanese version) it has similar design and feel to the old websites and you can send items to your tamagotchi. I should add that this app will be closing in august as well.

There used to be a lot more videos. I remember when I was 10 I would look it up on youtube and there were a lot of other kids that posted tutorials or just vids of them messing around. They probably deleted them out of embarrassment later on when Tamagotchi went out of mainstream style.

My sister had this tama. She had the bundle with the movie and tree that you can connect to a pc. That online game has a special place in my heart. It was so fun to play and go back to the tama. Of course she never really let me play it, but I loved living through her and seeing it all it was a weird experience but they are memories I will never forget.

i feel like i missed out on a lot of the tamatown features. i grew up with tamagotchis but because i was really young (5-8 y/o), i never knew how to navigate the website or connect my tamagotchis to the website. i just played the games. i soon grew out of tamagotchis by the time i was old enough to know how to use tamatown, and didnt possess a tamagotchi anymore. i do remember a new tamatown website (around 2010?) but by then it wasnt appealing to me compared to sites like club penguin. seeing all these features that i wasnt able to utilise back then being explained in this video makes me so regretful. the music is definitely nostalgic though, no doubt

Thanks for the video!! I am wondering if anyone remembers and can point me to the different songs that were particular to The Tama Beat in the mall. I can't remember if it was a game or just something you could listen to when Mametchi spins his records, but I remember being obsessed with the song and I can't find that particular game play or song anywhere (a different song than the one that plays automatically when you're browsing in the store -- maybe when you click on the microphone where it says "create a gotchi-song" ??)

Hey man, thanks so much for the memories coming up again, I remember playing Tamagotchi including the TamaTown so good. I often visited the website because of the points you could get there, after logging off they were transferred to your device so you could really easily get 99999 points which was the highest on the V4/V4.5. And I also miss the tamatown tune, you can find it here on youtube but it’s not the same when you just hear it instead of playing it. Thanks so much again! I just started playing with the connection ones from V1-V4.5 a couple weeks ago. It’s kinda exciting to find out which specific patterns of care lead to specific characters, back in my childhood days without a smartphone with google I always got the same characters, now I got ones which I never had before. By the way I think you really deserve a greater audience, you have a really great voice to do these videos and you seem really friendly 🙂 Greetings from germany ✌🏼

I wish I understood English at the time I always played on Tamatown. I was a huge fan of the website Nd owned probably 6 tamagotchis, from v.4 all the way to v. music star and home where you had 3 tamagotchis at once. I had so much fun but I can't imagine the emersion I would have felt from understanding all the texts as well.....

The files are simply... missing... You goto archive.org and only have a couple map related swf files and no games or anything. People have tried to get it working but stuff just doesn't work without it .. that's the problem

Oh my god my half sister refused to share her password with me when I was like 4 or 5. Thanks to her, I will never experience TamaTown, at least not in the same way everyone else did. Though I do own a Tama from 2005; it was my first ever. A friend who is a collector told me it's european exclusive, but it's faded and is missing the keychain. It looks similar to your yellow and purple one with the star, but mine's pink and green. What are the odds of it being a Tamagotchi Connection?
