Caleb Higgs it’s a bass vi. Tuned like a guitar but one octave lower. The Beatles used them for a couple of recordings and the cure (who were major blink influences) were big fans of them. Mark mentions it in a gear video somewhere
@@stephensporman8206 it's better now than a few years ago, for sure. He kills it in this performance. Some of his best live vocals. And his voice is so unique that it's hard to even listen to Skiba.
Gotta love 0:20 where the drums pause and the guitar finishes the bar on its own, as well as the strumming pattern at 1:06. It's the simple touches that make this live version so good.
@@zacharyweaver392 What happens if everything occurs simultaneously and the only reason we expect anything to have an end and a beginning is because we are born and then we die?
When I first herd this song a few years ago maybe 2008 , I literally got chills up my spine and butterflies in my stomach , was a weird feeling like I fell inlove nd listened to it over and over , remember thinkin this gotta be the best song I've ever herd , it still is nd never got tired of it definitely my favorite song ever nd favorite band, this song is amazing especially this performance love it !
The ending is absolutely majestic. The shot at 3:10 makes me think of the state of their relationship during this time. Mark and Tom not even acknowledging each other at all, both pointing in opposite directions getting ready to go their own ways while a great friendship falls apart.
Breaking up in their absolute prime. Selling out sixty thousand people Wembley back to back nights. Biggest band in the world. If they stayed together this band was on the verge of ultimate super stardom. Selling out stadiums with 70 thousand people in Japan where they can't even understand the lyrics. They were still young. Tom wasnt even thirty. Wildddddd
this exact video was uploaded when I was in my junior year of high school in 2006. even after all these years, I come back once in a while to watch this performance and it never fails to put a smile on my face.
listening to this live version of i miss you brings back all the memories of my high school and the exact moment I discovered them. love at first song and still now after all those years. perfection
This version is so good, I love these guys, mark is so awesome and his bass tone is on point, and if anyone is wondering he's playing a Fender Bass VI, it's a six string bass, it's in the same tuning as a guitar but an octave down, sounds good in the mix for "I Miss You" and is sweet bass for an awesome bass player
i thought when i was younger i would never see them since they were broken up... ive now seen them twice since theyve been back together. two of the most memorable nights of my life.
i cant even say how powerful that ending to the set was. wow incredible, i miss these days a bit even though i've stopped listening to rock and punk and mostly thrive on prog metal lol. this just doesn't get old.
I loved the way they performed this song here. Tom (in a vehement and nasally tone): STOP THIS PAIN TONIGHT. Mark (in monotone): Stop this pain tonight. Tom (vehemently and loudly): DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON ME, YOU'RE ALREADY THE VOICE INSIDE MY 'EAD! Mark (soft monotone): I miss you. Fucking great!
zoning Holy shit you're so right. After reading your comment I went to hear that out of curiosity. It wasn't long until I was forced to come back here and wash my ears. It's so bad it was a necessity.
+Clifford ok you may be right, but it was garbage , I know it, a few others know it, sounds like you know it as well, they just should stick to their own songs, whatever those are..
i agree , their cover of this song is definitely not the best but can you just stop putting them down like this ? they're still at the beginning of their careers and you cannot expect them to be this good putting other people down because you dont like them is just so lame please grow up
I was never a Blink 182 fan before a couple days ago when I went down the rabbit hole. I've been listening to them non stop ever since. These guys are a fucking amazing band. It's too bad I wrote them off as a teeny pop punk band when they first came out, because I missed out on a lot of amazing music over the years. I'm glad and proud to be a fan now. Also this performance is fucking amazing! One of the best live videos I've ever seen. I can't say enough good things about this band.
I love how all the bands from back in the early to mid 00s sound just like their actual songs or even better , just goes to show that it’s actual talent compared to todays garbage
I remember posting the lyrics on Facebook when it first came out, so my gf can see how much i missed her. Never saw she again after we finished high school
