I love that the audio filter and voice distortion used in the song actually make it possible to hear both "daydream" or "dirty dream" depending on which you're listening for. I feel like the title and opening tone primes you to hear it as "daydream", but over the course of the song and lyrics devolving, "dirty dream" begins to seem much more fitting. It's honestly such a cool aspect to the song, and just one of the reasons I always find myself coming back to it❤
I accidentally sent this to my choir teacher as a suggestion for a middle school choir because the effects sound cool and I didn’t notice the lyrics I’m going to die
I liked the song before it was used on the show but it did nudge me to listen to it again. My most favourite series in many a year btw and gasping to watch season two! I've had to rewatch it over and over to keep me going until then.
Tripped across this one thanks to Pandora. Fell in love with it immediately! Great melody, first rate vocals and a fun set of lyrics combining a nap on a beautiful day in some flowers mixed with some naughty parts.
Está música la ponen en sus naves los extraterrestres cuando vienen a tomar medidas a la tierra😅😅 (asomados por la ventana de la nave viendo pasar michis, aves, gente y algún que otro borracho)🤣
Well, from a simple audio production stand point. They just straight sampled the best part of Wallace Collection. The new verse sections are arguably better than the original songs change, but that's because a modern lense is hard to look back at old music and actually enjoy it, Of course it's all subjective. Me personally the newly added verses are way over voice modulated, just bring in someone that can actually sing, and use a good condenser mic to get something expressive for your vocals. This sounds like any kid in a bedroom could mix up these vocals in Abelton with Melodine. As far as the sample, they really didn't add anything to it, so they basically just stole an extremely good hook from the past and didn't add any artistic changes. Similar example would be Daft Punk - Robot Rock, great song, straight lifted. An opposing example would be how someone like Skrillex used sampling.
The eerie and strangeness is the point of this song. It focuses in creating a daydreaming state, where what happens in your own mind and what happens outside your mine combining. Thus creating that sensation of dreaming but having a little bit of selfs consciouness of what is happening outside your mind.
