Farming in rural Thailand as a foreigner is brutal and also rewarding…
Life in Thailand after leaving the UK.
Join me on my Thailand adventure as I attempt to create a fruit farm on five acres of land, build a house, dig a well for my own water source and install solar panels to become completely off grid!
Watch me generally fumble my way through every process, trying to keep positive and upbeat throughout 🧘‍♂️

That's the best move you can do 👍I did it also last September and came to Thailand with just hand luggage but with a lot of positivity and curiosity. Weather, cost of living, people's positivity, and life partner. Good reasons to make big changes in your life, leave your home country and live in Thailand.

Not cheap anymore! Go to Laos, Cambodia or VietNam. Thai people are sweet. The Thai government and it's policies treat farang like shit! Passport is needed to pay PEA, 3BB or telephone bill. Throw a dart at a map of the World! Timor Leste sounds good!

Hi! I don’t know if you still keep your plan. Japanese and Thai are very similar in manners. Shy, traditional and respect for the elderly. But we are totally opposite how to live our life. Japanese is intense, serious, hardworking and well-organized. Thai are easygoing, fun (we eat and laugh all day), work hard on the clock but we know how to enjoy everything even when we work and we are chaotic. Lol 😂😂 You will get some culture shock during your transition from Japan to Thailand.

In Thailand, having enough money is important for a comfortable life. With around 1,000 euros per month (36,000 Thai baht), you can live adequately. However, with 1,500 euros per month (54,000 Thai baht), you can enjoy a more comfortable lifestyle. And if you have 2,000+ euros per month (72,000-100,000 Thai baht), you'll be able to live like a king.🎉❤

Great videos. I love them all. You're always very positive and easy to watch. I built a house in Chiang Mai 10 years ago. Luckily we are connected to PEA so don't need to worry about power like you do. I've found with the Thai punishing climate, quality of products and workmanship, things go wrong far more here then in the UK and require more maintenance. You have a great house but the one thing I would do differently myself is to locate the solar panels nearer ground level for easy maintenance, cleaning or adding additional units one day as you have plenty of land available. As you often have a breeze coming from the mountain, perhaps a small wind turbine would be useful too to consider for the future?

There are no rates or equivalent here Robert. Just electric and water bills. In our rented 2 bed house in the city, our latest electricity bill was 1400 baht (£32) and water 70 baht (£1.60) for the month. Also the rental amount is just 5000 baht (£115) per month. I’m curious if you know that you married a (ethnically) Lao woman. Your wife and her family are speaking 99% (technically) Lao but you always speak Thai back to them lol

They’re speaking Isaan, a dialect of Thai and Laos. I’m learning to spk conventional Thai as it’s more beneficial to me. I spk the occasional Isaan phrase or words when I’m with my in-laws 👍

Hi Ben,could you tell me your wife's remedy for cleaning the pond with the cow shit sandwich, I can't find the video, thanks

Hi mark, she layers dried cow shit with hay, and skewers it with bamboo into the bed of the pond. The shit and the hay need to basically be in the water without separating and floating away. There’s probably better ways of doing it using something like chicken wire mesh, but the bamboo skewers seem to work ok. It’s not an immediate result, because the shit sandwich will produce plankton which is what cleans the water, but you’ll definitely see a difference over 6 months. We tend to make a new sandwich twice a year 😅. Hope this helps mate Edit - my wife says chicken wire is a bad idea 😅
