I have lived in Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton and visited Calgary a trillion times and there is no doubt overall Calgary will be a better fit for most people. BTW - Everything said in this video is spot on. My only two things to add is 1) the financial piece aspect is underrated. No sales tax in AB and no land transfer tax in AB - you have to pay this tax for both Ontario and Toronto when you buy a home. (Land transfer tax also exists in BC). And overall home prices are way cheaper in AB. Your money will go way further here. If you are in your 20s or 30s you cannot build wealth in BC or ON. People need to understand how important this is. 2) The event aspect will significantly improve in the next 5 years. The development in the East Village is on roids right now. The BMO centre is complete and once they finish the new stadium for the Flames the entire area will be a major cultural hub. Calgary will have the best stadium in Canada and the largest event centre outside of Toronto. Final sub point - the restaurant/food scene is soooooo underrated. You will not be disappointed with the restaurant options. I think it is a hidden gem for Calgary that doesn’t get mentioned enough. I have been trying to tell my Ontario friends they need to explore Calgary - it is the future! And Great video and channel overall. The world needs to see how wonderful Calgary is. Keep posting!
Amazing points to add! I really agree about the food scene too. So many incredible restaurants! And you make a good point about the financial piece (though I worry this will change), but the taxes are important to note too! Thanks for watching :)
