As a now 70 yo woman living alone in a modest small home on 12 forested acres I know the deep joy of waking up every day in "paradise". I've spent the last 30 years as a steward to the land and have a great connection to all the creatures I share my homestead with. I never forget that they were here first. We are the lucky ones but not in any kind of entitled or privileged way. Working the land and living simply is down to the bone hard physical work. It's rare not to go to bed exhausted (in a good way). Enjoy getting to know and care for your beautiful homestead. There is no more rewarding work than carving out a simple life of independence and self reliance in harmony with Nature. I look fwd to following the journey Max. ❤

I would call it Haven. To me, that’s simply calling it what it is. When Max and Occy arrived and Max said “give us a minute”, I instantly teared up again. The cabin IS basic and rustic. It was meant to be non invasive. Plus, it gives you a blank slate to start. Furniture is easy to get. Take it slow. Those trees are just amazing.

Earlier this year, Bandit and I purchased our first home as well. 🏡 It is absolutely surreal and months later still feel a lot of disbelief and a heart full of gratitude. It is a wonderful thing to have a place to call your own. 5 acres is going to be A LOT of work (I'm on 1/5 acre and it's actually nuts how much time and work clean up of overgrowth and gardening takes). Congrats! Everything looks great. I like old school. And your dog approves. I look forward to watching your journey. I lived 8 years in a camper van with my dog. She died of mast cell tumor cancer in January. I'm lucky I had a 2 month notice. She lived 11 1/2 years with me. And while she's on the other side.. she's with me often! And I ironically now live renting down the street where she's buried. I sold my campervan weeks after she passed. I'm leaving a lot details out.... But it's mighty amazing how things eventually work out.

To Max (And Occy) I can't describe how immensely happy I am for you and how your life has changed. I have followed you for over 3 years( Binged watched all videos though from before). I know the struggles of depression having lived with it for over 30 years and no less than 10 suicide attempts sad to say. How heart broken I was to hear and learn of your break up with Lee and her final goodbye to end that pain that is "our" lives. I can't help but wonder if this little piece of paradise might have been maybe one thing that would have changed that path. Yet I know you have struggled on to get to the point that is now this chapter. I am more interested in your world of moving forward, not Van life videos...plenty of them on the "tubes". I follow Trent & Allie and they have moved on from Van life as well to a new wonderful world, You tubers such as TREAD the Globe, have my fill of that life style. I enjoy videos from the sailing side too doing it "Boat Life" and follow those who I feel I connect with too and their content. I now live life through all of my RU-vid "families" having none of my own. I have traveled the world myself, speak 5 languages and retired at 48 (now 59). I am stable in life (Still not mind though), have good income and can do what I want mostly. I wish you the best and prosperity from this new life and always remember the thousands you have helped, sharing your life. Occy is your blessing and he is so much a true mate. You guys are absolutely the best. Enjoy each and all your videos, much happiness your way...now back to see you move in to your new forever home!!!
