This isn't just ahead of its time, its ahead of *OUR* time - we STILL aren't ready for this kind of music to grace our ears. We need at LEAST another decade.

I love how much Danny experimented in his early days. So much music genres, rhytms, instruments and etc. It's fantastic and mesmorizing listening to that tracks in their full glory!

This is one of my favourite Boingo tapes- it has such a feeling that fills me with nostalgia that I can't quite explain. Sort of reminds me of the Forbidden Zone, little cartoons I use to watch as a small child for sleep, and that waking feel you get when you don't know where or who you are after a strangely peculiar nap. I love love LOVE this song, no words can describe how good it is to me

One of those horns is Emmy Award-winning composer Miriam Cutler...

There are hints of "Insanity" from "Boingo" in the opening of this song! 🙂

Having just discovered your fun little corner of YT, I must say I am really impressed with not only being able to finally hear MKOTOB that isn't Forbidden Zone, but also with the quality you have managed to get out of 40 year old tapes. This is probably one of my favorite tracks out of the MK stuff I've seen on your channel so far. In some ways I wish Danny had kept the band going like this. Not then again we'd never have had the opportunity to hear all of the great stuff that came next. Hearing this tune makes me wish I had been old enough and living in L.A. to have seen them playing this stuff. One of my biggest regrets was not being able to see them play when I was stationed in Long Beach in the mid to late 80s.

IMO they were the best '80s band. I was lucky enough to catch them at the Paramount Theater in Seattle in 1989.

It's been what 3 months maybe since you uploaded this song and I probably listened to this maybe 30+ times and this is easily my favorite Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo and one of my favorite Oingo Boingo songs. I love this song so much.

holy SHIT! I have heard this song before, but a live non-electronic version from the Alcazar 1977 bootleg. Also of note is that the Mystic Knights-OB transition happened in 1977, not 1979, so my gut feeling is that this was recorded earlier, maybe 77, because this sounds much more Mystic Knights.

At the 5:35 mark there is this wonderful "waaaahhh." Does anyone know if that's Danny? It seems, to me, that that is above his range and I've never heard anything like that on any subsequent release. Of course, I could be wrong.
