Kenny Loggins started his career with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1970. He then joined Jim Messina as a duo from 72-77. They had a lot of great songs together. Kenny then went solo & had a string of hits & did many movie soundtracks including "Footloose". He also has done a few duets including one with Stevie Nicks. He has a huge library of songs to go through.

Tom Cruise isn't in Footloose BUT he is in another big movie, "Top Gun", that Kenny Loggins did the main song for. It's "Danger Zone" & was also a HUGE hit. It's another one you can't hold still to. 💙☮💙

If you watch Footloose, make sure it's the original. It was one of those 80s classic genre movies that's stood the test of time, & with a great soundtrack. Takes place in a small, religious town out in the western boonies after a recent tragedy's made the adults go control freaking on their kids. Kevin Bacon plays the cool out of towner who alarms them with his newfangled rock music & dancing. #lol But it seriously has a good theme, summed up as "I don't know that I believe in all that you believe in. But I believe in you" & "If we don't start trusting our children, how will they ever become trustworthy?". The final scene where the kids are having a school dance & finally let loose with some endearingly awkward group dancing uses the title song, Footloose...doesn't matter if you're good at it or not, just dance, enjoy being young & alive, & have fun. ❤

This is from my day - the 80s. Such a fun, entertaining movie and you'd enjoy it. Kevin Bacon's character (Wren) and his mom move into this small mid-western from the big city and this small town's leader is the local preacher who doesn't approve of teenagers dancing. Kevin Bacon character sets out to change his mind... plus he and the preacher's daughter (who's kind of a wild child)... well... please check it out! This is probably Sarah Jessica Parker's first movie (who's more of a minor character).
