Wearing a mask higher up your nose and that fits snugly over your nose will help prevent as much fogging. Glasses should be over the mask. If you are in a warm room your glasses shouldn't keep fogging once the lenses have warmed up. If it's cold outside your glasses may fog up when entering a warm room anyway. Moisture in warm air will condense on a cold surface like the lenses in glasses and when that surface warms up the moisture will evaporate. Warmth from your face will also help to warm the lenses slightly. If a mask is badly fitted then more moist air will escape upwards and on to the lenses. You can also get anti-fog spray for glasses. Cleaning the lenses with mild washing up liquid and warm water at least once a day can also help. Dry gently with a clean soft towel and polish with the cleaning cloth that came with your glasses. The best way to get used to prescription glasses is to wear them as much as possible for a couple of weeks. Once you are used to them then you can wear your glasses as much or as little as you want and your eyes will adjust straight away when you put your glasses on. I noticed that your prescription included a correction for astigmatism in one eye. Astigmatism can affect focusing at all distances, near and far. You might want to try wearing your prescription glasses when you are using your computer to see if there is any improvement, or more likely fewer or no headaches.

I understand the pronunciations of "TIJN" raises questions. In Dutch language, the combination of IJ is very common. It is actually considered a single letter (a diftong). The pronunciation is similar to an "I" in English (or "EI" in German). "Tijn" is a Dutch boys'name, abbreviation of "Constantijn", a name also known in English language, in a slightly different spelling. Next question is whether "TIJN" is related at all to Dutch language.

I'm a former optician, I'm now retired and enjoying playing golf. So even though you were getting headaches and finding yourself squinting to see things because you had always have perfect vision I'm sure you probably weren't expecting to be told that you now need to be wearing glasses. That had to be a bit shocking to you. Your job apparently requires you to spend much of your day staring at a computer screen. That Is the reason you now need glasses. It has ruined your perfect eyesight that you always had. But we all have to work to make a living even if it means you are going to be wearing glasses from now on in order to see things clearly. Most people think that doing computer work or reading small print for long hours everyday is more likely to cause them to need reading glasses when really the opposite to occur. Here is the reason. When your eyes are constantly only focusing at a short distance away from your eyes eyes for long hours everyday they become transfixed. In other words they no longer are as able to focus at things further away from their eyes like they used. That results in myopia otherwise known as "shortsightedness" or as we call it here in the US "Nearsightedness" But it all means the same thing, things at a distance aren't as clear and sharp as they always used to be. Once you develop "myopia" it never goes away. Most likely in about a year your going to probably need a slight increase in your prescription and new glasses as well. This will probably happen several times until your eyes become stable and stop changing. I'm glad to provided a look at your prescription. Your prescription is about what I would expect for some one getting her first glasses. It's considered as being a weak prescription with your right eye being slightly worse than your left eye. But because you have some astigmatisms in your left eye that you don't have in your right eye your eyesight is about the same overall in both eyes. I'm sure you are very able to notice the difference with and without your glasses now. I don't know what Specsavers suggested to you in regards to when you should wear your glasses but a lot of it is up to you. If you don't have much of a problem tolerating things being slightly blurry then you may only choose to wear your glasses part time when you feel you need to see things more clearly. But if you prefer seeing things perfectly clear lie you always used to see them without glasses then you might want to wear your glasses all the time and only take them off when you shower or when you're sleeping. Wearing your glasses all the time won't in anyway do any harm to your eyes or cause them to worsen, even though people will tell you it will. After wearing your glasses for a while that first day were you surprised that things seemed even more blurry when you took them off then they were before you got your glasses? I'm sure it was and that's completely normal and only means that your eyes were getting nice and adjusted to the prescription of your glasses rather than squinting to try and see something like you were doing. Your young and really very cute so you don't want to be squinting because that will cause wrinkles. You're reasoning for getting your glasses nice and big made perfect sense to me because it takes a little getting used to wearing glasses and if you get a smaller frame and it's a bolder plastic frame your eyes are seeing the frame all the time at first which means it is going to take longer to get used to wearing glasses. So being bigger and getting a nice thin wireframe your eyes shouldn't have any issues with that. All you need to get used to is having lenses in front of your eyes constantly and adjusting to the prescription. I think you're going to do just fine with both. Your glasses are a bit larger than they really should be even though they still look really cute on you. here are some tips for you in the future. You never want frame wider than your face is. You want your eyes to be as close to centered in your lenses as possible. if you notice your eyes aren't anywhere close to being centered. You never want the top of the frame to cover or hide your eye brows. Being such thin frame that isn't an issue at all with your glasses. And you want the bridge area, that's that part that fits on your nose to be nice fitting and comfortable. From what i can tell your glasses look to be a nice fit on your nose. Even though you just started wearing glasses and your prescription is on the weak side you should consider getting a 2nd pair rather soon. Once your eyes get fully adjusted to your glasses you're not going to be able to see nearly as well as you used to when driving, especially at night. Actually if you were here in the US the prescription you got would be enough that you would be required to wear glasses when driving. In the UK once you get your driver's license you never are tested again to see if you need glasses or not for driving. You never know when you might break or lose you r glasses so a backup is a good idea already. You're very likely to be wearing glasses when your watching TV. Have you ever fallen asleep watching TV in the past? I'm sure that you have. Well now if you do that and you're wearing your glasses you could wake up to find them broken in your sleep. Besides TIJN check out these sites for glasses. By the way, there all even less expensive than TIJN glasses. Zeelool, Voogueme, Payne Glasses and Zenni Optical. They all offer really nice selections of glasses including single vision, that's what your glasses are, lenses in your prescription for as little as $7.00. They hundreds more for under $15.00. Also besides getting a backup pair you should also consider ordering a pair of prescription sunglasses as well. You should take all of the sunglasses you have laying around or in your car and pack then away in back of your sock drawer. You said that you were going to experiment with wearing your glasses to drive As an optician I can tell you that even if you still you're able to see well enough to drive without glasses you're not able to see nearly as well as you really need to be able to for driving. Everything else is an option for you to decide if you want to wear glasses or not but driving shouldn't be an option at all. You need to be wearing glasses even if you're only driving around the block. So that of course mean you can't be wearing your glasses and then switching to a pair of non-prescription sunglasses. You really do need to order a pair of rx sunglasses or you're going to be forced to wearing your regular glasses on sunny days. Too late now but what you really should have done before going for that first experiment drive wearing glasses would have been for you to wear your glasses for at least an hour so your eyes could adjust before driving. The reason is so your eyes would be able to adjust to depth perception. So you would have been able to judge how far the car in front you really was. The TIJN site is really poorly constructed because it is very confusing to order your glasses with a prescription and the blue blocking coating. I even got confused the first time I tested their site out. That was because someone else wasn't able to order her glasses with her prescription either so i couldn't understand why until i tried it. I have several tips for you that should help your eyes when you're doing computer work but this has gotten too long already so I will put it in another comment later on.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to leave this comment. I will keep all of that in mind for when I need to purchase my next pair. At the moment, I am not wearing them all the time but after driving in them once - I will now always wear them driving because it feels a lot safer, and (at night especially) makes a massive difference. I was told wearing them more would worsen my vision, so it’s nice to hear you disagree with that! I am a little sad about my vision, even so much so that I looked into surgery, but for now, I am happy to have had the eye test, because it does make driving and life in general a lot easier.

@@SophieMelissaThank you for your wonderful reply. It does make me happy when someone appreciates the time it takes to provide that information. But as long as even some of it is helpful then it's well worth it for me. It's totally up to you when you wear your glasses I'm sure you will find wearing them for things lie going to the theater to see a movie, going to a concert and even just sitting watching TV will be better wearing glasses now. But I'm glad that it only took one test drive wearing glasses for you to realize that you really do need to be wearing glasses to drive now. I'm not at all surprised that someone told you that wearing your glasses all the time would cause your eyesight to worsen. Here's why people think that. The more you wear your glasses the more relaxed your get because their not straining or squinting trying to see things. So because their relaxed when you take your glasses off it makes sense that things are going to look more blurry to you. Not because your eyes got worse. Now the truth is whether you hardly ever wear your glasses or wear them nearly all the time your eyes are likely to change in the next 12 to 18 months. I can understand you being sad about needing to wear glasses now after always having perfect vision. But look at it this way look how kids you see getting glasses that can barely walk. You were blessed with perfect vision a lot longer than they were and you're eyesight is still really quite good, just not perfect anymore. In your video you were looking out a window with your glasses on and you were able to see the leaves on a tree nice a nd clear but when you lifted you glasses up without your glasses you couldn't see the individual leaves anymore just a tree. But some people would be very happy to just be able to see the tree as a tree and not just a blob of green with no idea what they were looking at without their glasses. You're really very attractive and you very honestly don't look any less attractive wearing glasses. Of course you look a bit different wearing glasses but not in bad way. You're still getting used to having glasses and and you need to get used to seeing yourself wearing glasses to appreciate how good you look wearing glasses. Remember all your life until now you were only used to seeing your face without glasses. Any type of change in looks takes a bit of time getting used to. You would feel about the same way if you were to change hair until you got used to seeing yourself with the new hair color. Here is something that might surprise you. Not long ago I read an article in an optical magazine, It said that in 2018 a major university did a study and they found that 74% of the population now wears glasses / contacts. The same university did the same study in 2008 and the percentage then was 62%. That's a huge increase in just 10 years time. Ophthalmologist as well as optometrist agreed that the main reason for such an increase was due to nearly everyone's eyes being so over exposed to so many screens and computers. So that's 3 out every 4 that doesn't have perfect vision anymore. And with the type of work you do you were almost certain to be needing glasses at some point. Something else I wonder if you have noticed is that wearing glasses has really become very popular with women because they now consider glasses as a nice fashion accessory. I don't when you were a boutique last, but every boutique now has several racks of fake glasses for the few women that don't actually need glasses to wear just for fashion. As for as surgery i'm afraid that you're going to have to wait a while before you can even consider it. Your eyes have to be completely stable for at least 12 months and since you're new to wearing glasses it will be longer for you so they can be sure your eyes are stable before you can get lasik.
