Time to mix it up with some running motivation!
I'm heading out on same trails and just sometimes we need to change it up and egt some running motivation. Been thinking about this one for a while as its on my door step. I also need to get more vertical in my life
Run up and down, to and from St Marthas 8 times to get some vert - I had hoped for 2133ft but in actual I got a disappointing 1600ft .
Loved the challenge and certainly when working on mky elevation gain will need to get this in 3 times a week to get the leusive 5000ft per week.
Thanks for watching and if you like what you see perhaps subcribe - it helps get word out there!

The octopus route is a great idea. Good advice to stop for horses too. Share the trails! 👍🏻🏃‍♂️

Great input on vert per week, I’ve been a 2,000 to 3,000 per week in the pass. This upcoming year I’ll attempt 5,000 as you mentioned for next years races. Keep them coming!!

Not sure why 5000 is a figure as its all personal but hey good to set a target 💪💪

Great to have St Martha’s on your doorstep, such a beautiful place to run. I ran from there for the first time recently for the Downslink Ultra. Hope to try out the Octopus some day!

Good to see you back! Living just south of Sheffield, with the Peak District on my doorstep, I didn't think I struggled with vertical gain until I did a 30 mile recce for the Lakeland 50 in May! It's a completely different beast eh? Once recovered from that my next key session was 3x up Jacobs ladder onto Kinder Scout then another ascent, almost to the edge of Kinder and back, to get some decent elevation!

Different level and to be respected Hannah - Ive got the The Tour de hevellyn coming up but know the course now - gonna be tough 😬 Jacobs ladder is in the spine trails isnt it ?

@@ultrarunneradam yes it's the 1st climb in the Spine Race. My big target for 2022 is the Summer Spine Challenger. 1st 100(+) miler and a tough one. Lots of time on feet and recces in the next few months! Good luck with the Tour de Hellvelyn. Hope the weather is kind.

Great video again! I don't suffer from lack of vertical gain, almost the opposite! Most of my training is on hills, which i've come to love. Got a similar video planned soon. It will pay off hugely. I do hills once a week about 9miles and 2,500ft. Great training bloc bench mark.. The Octopus is yours now! keep it up!

Thanks - yes Ive marked it - I reckon there more elevation to be had - just got to be careful we dont over do it - yeah youve got some nice hills

Living on the flatlands it’s too easy to just head out the door and do a flat loop. Then usually panic 6 weeks before a race and make more effort to get to the hills that are only 5-6 miles away (Cotswolds). Great vid.

I always run hills if I can but last night just couldn’t get out as shattered - so yeah no the feeling 😬 I’ve got a river near me so that’s my flat recovery ❤️‍🩹 run 🏃‍♂️

Looks like a quality run mate! Knew it would be a good one! Never been on those trails before I would like to visit them myself one day 😜 I think that would be a quality GTR session. We could atleast get 5 done on a Tuesday night. Could be a good one for the first GTR race? Keep up the training buddy! 🦁⚡

Very interesting route/challenge - thank for sharing. I live about a mile away from St. Martha's and run up it all the time - mostly east to west and (very) rarely tackle the south face. I'll factor it into my training in the next few weeks. Just out of interest, was the Leith Hill Octopus (cycling route) a motivation or was it something else that inspired you to create it?
@ultrarunneradam
@ultrarunneradam 2 года назад
Yes had heard of the octopus over at leith hill so can’t take all the credit! My next one is the jelly fish 💪 thanks for watching 🤙
