I Need These Dance Moves! | Happy Feet Reaction | FIRST TIME WATCHING! 

Hey everyone! Thanks for watching my Reaction to Happy Feet! Jurassic World Dominion was blocked this morning by Universal so I am trying to have it uploaded again for tomorrow. If I can't get it back up then Friday will be The Angry Birds Movie!

Correction: When Mumble returned to the colony thinking Gloria had kids and a mate, that was actually her singing class and he was another teacher. You talked over the explanation and missed it.

Mumble is a character that I really connect with on account that he’s meant to represent neurodivergent people. What other people deem as his weakness ends up saving his people. The representation is appreciated. Long time fan, Cody. Always love your reactions,

I absolutely love Happy Feet and the songs that they played/sung in this movie... Plus Robin Williams is a bonus! May he rest in peace as one of if not the greatest actor to have ever existed!

I really love this movie, Robin williams will be dearly missed. All of the songs in this movie is so catchy and so good. The great lesson in this movie is never let anyone change you for who you are.

This movie has so much symbolism and allegory to it. Whether Mumble's dad really did cause him to be born different or not is unknown. But his father definitely feels ashamed and blames himself for it. He's always felt guilty and self conscious of his child for how he turned out, even though Mumble is as normal as any other penguin outside of being incapable of singing. You could relate it to alot of religious fathers with gay or autistic children who think they raised them wrongly or that God has punished them for how their children are. This entire penguin society has some religious vibes to it, they even shun and exile Mumble for his "peculator thoughts" and different methods of expressing himself (dancing), and believing that Mumble's existence has angered their "Great Guin". It's so heavy on the implications, which is very interesting for a movie deemed fit for children.

One of the first movies we ever bought on DVD, I friggin loved Happy Feet. My Mom even let me learn some tap dancing so I could copy Mumble like in the movie. Man, what a blast from the past. As for some of your questions about the film, some actually have some biological and ecological basis. The reason Mumble came out the way he did much like you presumed, was because Memphis dropped him as an egg. Just a few moments of exposure can kill a penguin egg, that’s how cold it is. As a result, Mumble didn’t get his down (black water resistant feathers) properly. Notice how he’s still fuzzy? Penguins shed that when reaching adulthood. Yet, Mumble didn’t due to being dropped. It’s also why he sounds like a regular penguin as opposed to all the others. He eventually gets his down by the end of the film, a good visual metaphor for his dancing being accepted by the rest of the colony. As for the heart songs, each penguin’s song is only the first verse or so of a song. Memphis and his wife Norma Jean were singing _Heartbreak Hotel,_ but penguin only has the one verse - and need to find their partner with the matching song. Mumble and Gloria were doing _Boogie Wonderland._ While Mumble can’t sing, his dancing was still in rhythm with her singing, hence their heart songs match. Mumble’s heart song is actually _I Wish._ It’s just can only express it through his dancing, a good visual metaphor for those who can’t express their thoughts through words, but rather their actions. Birds are a species that primarily communicates through song after all, so having a bird that can’t sing is almost heretical to the greater colony. As for the penguin species, you’re right in calling Mumble and most of the cast Emperor Penguins. The bros are all Adele Penguins. Lovelace is a Macaroni Penguin. The species within the zoo were Magellanic penguins. Then you’ve got the Leopard Seal, Elephant Seals, Scua, and Orcas. This movie allows for a lot do visual metaphors for diversity, acceptance, prejudice, human pollution and impact on the environment, and neuro-divergence. So many layers to unpack, which is why this film always goes remembered as one of the best of my childhood.

It really is dangerous for penguins to drop eggs. Not only for rolling, but they’re eggshells are way more vulnerable to the freezing cold than their future feathers. Just a few seconds are dangerous

I think this movie is much better than a lot of people give it credit for. I love the environmental message, the anti-religious symbolism, and the inspiring themes of being who you are even if everyone around you doesn't appreciate you for you. The themes of this film are still incredibly relevant today. The things that make us different are our greatest strengths, even if our peers can't see that truth. I feel that this is one of those special animated movies that can still be enjoyed by children, while also tackling some really hard-hitting adult themes. I love it, and I was delighted to see your reaction!

The old hater penguin was the first to condemn mumble, but yet he was the first to bust a move in front of the people 😂also the ending credit song “song of the heart” by prince is still on my play list

CHILDHOOD RIGHT HERE😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I also learned a lot from this movie. The mothers go out to find fish while the fathers take care of the egg and huddle together to stay warm and Killer Whales like to play with their food before they eat

What I love about the happy feet movies is the attention to the facts. Like there are so many scientifically correct things in here. It's like a real life take on the life of penguins with a creative, anthropomorphic spin.

Fun and Sad Fact: Steve Irwin does the voice of one of the Elephant Seals and there was a deleted scene where Mumble was traveling across the ocean to follow the boats and come across a whale and a seagull (which the seagull was voiced by Steve Irwin) and by the end of the deleted scene pays tribute to Steve who recently died from a Sting Ray

There's quite a few little fun facts/Easter eggs in this movie. Memphis sings like Elvis, Elvis is from Memphis. Norma Jean talks like Marilyn Monroe, who's real name was Norma Jean. Baby Mumble is the same person as Tommy Pickles from Rugrats. There's a deleted scene where Mumble sees a Blue Whale while following the boats and then a seagull talks to him. The seagull is voiced by Steve Irwin. I'm so sad they cut that part out. Mumble looked different because he never lost all his baby feathers/fluff. It's another side effect of the egg being dropped. Mumble and Gloria are together at the end of the movie. She wasn't with Seymore, they just taught the singing class together. The baby penguins were their students. Really enjoyed this reaction. I actually suggested this movie on one of your Pitch Perfect reactions I think so I'm so glad you watched it and hope you watch the second one as it's a lot of fun too! Pink voices Gloria in the second one and we all know she's fabulous! 😁😁

Poor mumble has a birth defect cuz his dad dropped him. This movie is just great mumble being the only one who cant sing and has still his hatchling feathers makes him different and Unique but it also shows how the masses react to differences😔

My childhood! I like there’s not really any real villains or antagonists but just conflicts. Also I like how instead of Mumble magically become a better singer he would rather be himself and tap dance. I loved Mumble’s dynamic with Norma Jean and Memphis since they’re very different but they care for each other. Also Ramon is such a funny character. Robin Williams really nailed it again.

I remember the teaser trailer for the movie showing the fake singing performance but in a different perspective not showing mumble, then in the final note, we zoom into Ramon’s mouth and his heart is labeled Happy Feet. So weird.

Happy Feet was the first film I’ve experienced at a drive-in and it was amazing! This being a musical film, I was jamming in my seat a lot. The realistic animation and the casting is great too, especially with the inclusion of the late Robin Williams. A wonderful Warner Bros film in my overall opinion!😄

I kid you not, I would rewatch this movie on the daily when I was like 10. It’s a big piece of my childhood. It’s sad that a lot of the cast (Robin Williams, Steve Irwin, Brittany Murphy, etc) passed away

I LOVED this movie when I first saw it back in like 2008 lol, the songs are really good, the cast is also amazing, and it made me wanna learn to tap dance, I never did but it looked cool, it is such a rewatchable one as well

Just to make sure you know, Gloria wasn't with the other guy at the end. She was a teacher, those little penguins were her students. I hope you watch the sequel, it has their son Eric in it.

I absolutely loved this movie as a kid and until revisiting it, I always thought he's name was "Mambo" like to "shake it" and dance I'd recommend the sequel, it's finale is just SO intense 😅

Mumble is different because his egg was drop it’s called a brith defect! He’s developing late compared to others. Which is way he doesn’t have all his adult feathers.

For anyone wondering, Gloria's song is actually about her. She's in denial. None of the other penguins' songs are a fit for her, and Mumble can tap dance to any song Gloria can sing.

The Owl House Amphibia My Life as a Teenage Robot.

This movie makes me emotional as hell. It's an animation yeah and they've taken creative liberties of course cause it's for kids but there are some real lessons and topics that they tackle with this. Such as our impact on the planet and it's wildlife as a species, the pollution, the over fishing, locking animals up for any reason other than conservation and saving species. The ending has always made me bawl my eyes out, I think this was the movie that truly opened me up to caring for the planet and all if it's none human inhabitants. The only way humanity really cares is if they see something as somewhat human so movies such as these are amazing for getting these points across to the younger generations. Care for the planet and it's creatures, they all deserved full bellies, freedom and compassion just as we do.

I love this movie between the variety of animal species to the music. I do get a bittersweet because at least two of three actors in this film have passed. Brittany Murphy- Gloria, Robin Williams, and Steve Irwin great actors, Steve and Robin having an influence on my childhood. If you’d like a fun animal movie might I recommend Crocodile Hunter it is hilarious, action packed, slightly scary but the crocodile is just being himself.

This is one of my top favorite movies. When I was a kid, I danced along with the scenes and watched bonus features after finishing the movie. Mumble has always been my favorite character. Also, penguins became my favorite animals because of this movie and Surf's Up.

Did you know the sequel was the last animated movie Robin Williams worked on before he died? I loved his performance in both movies and wish I could have seen him in more films.

Am I the only one who thinks the penguin colony doubled in size during that last dance scene? Like it looks significantly larger than earlier in the film. Maybe because there is more fish now, but yeah.

The penguins songs are an interpretation of their “mating heartsongs” in real life, they used songs we know to give us an idea of what it’d be like. And the Mexican stereotype penguins are just there for fun

I remember seeing this movie twice as a kid in the theaters cause I loved it so much! I related to Mumble because I too have a physical disability- cerebral palsy. So I can't run or jump or do all the things the average person can all that well. My balance is crap, and I use forearm crutches to get around. Whenever Mumble tap danced, I would mimic it with my hands, by clapping or tapping them them against my lap, (sorta like clapping but in an odd way cause there's different tricks I used, ex: whenever he went super quick, I'd rub my palms together) since I couldn't do it with my feet. To this day, it's my favorite movie and I'll even admit that I watch it if it ever plays on tv. I'm glad you liked it! Please take my sub!! How funny, for a few days anow Ive been rewatching clips form this and the 2nd movie (you should check that out too) and was wanting to find any reactors who react to the first movie. lol Btw, I truly adore Mumble´s character. His kind laughed, made fun of, and then banished him yet he still risked his life to save them from starvation against an antagonist he knows basically nothing about. And he even jumped into waters with TWO Killer Whlaes to save Lovelace, someone who up until that point didn't like him at all. If there was a textbook on how to be a selfless hero, Mumble would be the example they´d show. Oh and, its theorized that Mumble does have a ¨Heartsong¨: I Wish (reprised) by Michael Jackson. Its the song we hear before Mumble first meets the Skuas as a chick and the song at the end of the movie. He just....dances it instead of singing it.

I was just wondering when you might check Happy Feet out!! I hope you‘ll take a look at Happy Feet Two as well. It’s a fun series. Also, fun fact, the original ending of the movie was supposed to have actual aliens in it.

Humans don’t have better nature? I’m human and so are you. There are people that are kind hearted and care about these animals. I love animals too and seeing that soda can holder around Lovelace’s neck made me upset.
