I need to talk about Lily Gao | Resident Evil 4 Remake 

Update 4/9/23; The actor for Leon, Nick Apostolides has commented on the advice he has given Lily and shared said advice on the internet. Given Lily's Insta has hidden all of it's posts, it is hard to find evidence of some claims, such as some of the comments that were based on race or that death threats are involved. Apparently some of these were distributed through DM as well so there's absolutely no way for me to see those. I also want to apologize for the way the video was formatted; I did not make a clear enough distinction between whether I was talking about Lily or another actor who was harassed in the past, and I think that led to a little bit of confusion. As far as I am concerned, death threats and racist comments in Lily's particular situation is unconfirmed, when I mentioned those it was in regards to other actors in the past who wound up in a similar situation. Admittedly, I'm inclined to believe what Lily is saying about her own harassment, I think it would be a weird thing to outright lie about... but I've also kept open to the idea that she might just have a very strong reaction to criticism, even when I was filming this video. Hence why in this video instead of saying that all criticism is outright wrong, I instead tried teaching how to convey it in an effective way that won't come off as an attack. i'm so glad you uploaded this video because i'm also so tired of these losers harassing women on the internet for just doing their job. i actually like lily gao's take on ada, it's nice to see the character interpreted differently than we're used to. also, it's terrible that lily is being targeted by trolls again because her and the other actors in welcome to raccoon city were harassed back when that movie came out. great video, it's great to see some critical thinking from the RE community :)
