Owned an R8 V10 myself, currently own a 23 C8 Z06 and a 21 redeye. I will be sticking with ice engines for as long as possible. Love sound, cars, driving and taking the curves fast.
Like it or not, all of your components, speakers and subwoofers are always on the selling block. When you come across a speaker that fits your space / performance, you make the move. Congratulations on making the move.
TRAITOR!!! LOL Just kidding Mike. Those Martin Logans look good and I am sure sound fantastic. Personally I love Klipsch and I am looking to get some in the near future.
@@Youthman we need to update it but we had some cubes that said I am deeply loved , highly favored, greatly blessed, totally righteous, destined to reign because of Jesus
Congrats Youthman. I hope everything works out. I’m currently testing out some smaller tower. I’m definitely keeping my old ones. I picked up a used 200W amp to run an extra set of speakers or a separate 2.1 music system in another room.
what do you think of the smaller brother rp8000f mk2? I want to buy them for this holiday but have some concern with people saying the bass extension is kinda weak
Youthman I also upgraded all of my Klipsch to Arendal 1723 speakers thanks to you for that you were the one who got me into Klipsch speaker also a few years ago

@@MasterofPlay7 i’ve never had the rp-8000s but the rf7iiis are legit amazing. If you can stretch your budget a bit more i’d get the rf7iiis if i was you
The end of an era. Happy you got what works for you today, but still sad to see you step away from the RF-7 III's. Almost like you left the brotherhood. :) Thanks for the video, Michael.
Klipsch are gateway speakers... there are much better speakers out there. They cost more, but offer better performance. Klipsch has some good speakers for their price point, but they aren't even close to endgame speakers.
@@kennethmccullough1342 RF-7 III's aren't Heritage line speakers. The majority of those who own klipsch, own the commercially available big box store models and never get to actually hear the difference. Heritage line speakers don't fit in that category and are on a different level altogether.
@@synth505 “Klipsch has some good speakers for their price point, but they aren’t even close to end game speakers”. That is what you said and that’s what I responded to. You said Klipsch. Last time I checked Klipsch Heritage speakers are still Klipsch speakers. You did the generalizing. I just responded to it.
Like you I've owned many Klipsch speakers over the years , so I know how you feel giving up the RF7 |||'s ,but I did trade them in for the upgrade to my Paradigm 120H's .I do miss them at times for the sheer dynamics even though I know the 120's are way better .
Same here! the Paradigm are clearly the better speaker but some times I can tell the dynamics and the tweeter clarity is not on the level the Klipsch were.
Gave me a smile seeing a man hug his speaker confession I do that myself sometimes no judgment here. Okay I’m thinking about getting the Klipsch 800 series. Long story short I have two Eddison they have all together 2 15’ woofers I put a JBL compression driver better crossover network into them. Now why I bring this up cause I want more space after 👂 kg Klipsch 800’s and the 8000’s have good bass I’m like sounds good enough for me I’m not looking to shake my neighbors, coffee table. At the time I bought those Edison speakers, I did not have credit with Best Buy like I have now so I settled for the furniture store stereos system I had an account with them since I was 18 bought allot of things there over the years the Edison stereo was not the best. I got a Yamaha AV receiver and worked with what I got with the 15’s the tweeters were crap that’s why I put a JBL horn compression driver in them better crossover network I did not want a light show. I wanted great sounding music. Plus I enjoy working on speakers so I’m pretty much still thinking on it. 41$ per month for Klipsch 800’s is a sweet deal the ones I have now are fine I thought about extra space I will have. Trust me I can say more in this comment cause I love talking bout speakers.
Hello, I've been watching you for a while, but just subscribed. I'm potentially in the market for new towers! The Martian Logan f200 are about half the price of the rf7 here in Canada, your review is great ! Cheaper, will buy !! They look amazing
Sold my RF83 a couple of months ago had them for 16 years was sad to see them go now have Martin Logan 60xti and really love them but i was still sad to see my klipsch go also chose white for my Martin logans
Hello big fan! Wondering if you could compare the Arendal towers to the Martin Logans in your 2 channel setup for music. Never seen it done and you have the perfect opportunity! Hope you get a chance to work that in thanks.
As you know Michael, I'm still a Klipsch man, and have been for over 40 years - with my original Cornwall Series I as my front L&R ever since - now with 7 Klipsch channels plus 2 Klipsch subs. For the reasons I'm sure you know, that "New England" bright and airy sound has been the sound I have grown to love and enjoy throughout the years, not to mention the efficiency. Love all your content - Thanks. - Cheers!
I love everything about klipsch except their horn tweeters. I find them very fatiguing, can’t listen much longer than 20 min. But they have great bass. Had a few of their subs over the years and they’ve all been great. Just wish their tweeters didn’t bother me so much :(
Great speakers. I am just wondering why haven't you tried KEF R11 Meta. They are very beautiful speakers, well suited for a living room, and produce one of the best sound.
Been thinking of getting a set of the Martin Logan angled in ceiling speakers for my atmos. Do you know how well the ML type of tweeters mix with regular dome tweeters in the bed layer? I have a MK150 setup, but sadly their in ceilings dont have angled baffles like the ML ones do.
Being that your ears face forward, height and surround speakers are not near as critical for timbre matching as your LCR. You will be fine. I ran Klipsch in-ceilings and surrounds with JTR LCR for several years with a very good experience.
That is not a flattering thumbnail. I know we are getting old, but come on, we don't have to openly advertise it especially with Jesica looking so good.
Good choice Youthman. I'm the Oldman. Ive been listening to the ML motion series about 10 yrs.Now 60XT's floorstanders. Drive it with the Peachtree Carina 300 as endpoint/ Sonos port and mostly Tidal. It's getting close to Symphony hall/ concert level enjoyment! without needing extreme decibles!
Please compre the 1723 to the f200. Personally I’m not sure which to get.. I’ve experienced the 1723s in room and loved them, but I have the ML 60xt now and would love to stick with ML if the upgrade to the f200 is worth it.
Really wish more companies would make things in piano black or white. IMO, wood veneer or wood-like synthetic are ok, but piano black or white blend better with a lot of modern decor living spaces.
Your thumbnail = me with every piece of 2 channel equipment I sell. I just sold my beloved Pass Labs XRV1 crossover and even though I hadn’t used it in years I still had a lump in my throat. Weird thing is I don’t have the same emotional attachment to my HT gear. I guess it shows where my priorities lie. Great choice with the ML’s. Imho, they are a much better speaker than the RF-7’s
FYI in your promo recording you refer to the 1723 1S as the 1961’s “bigger ported brother” but that would be the 1723 1V (vented). The 1723 1S is still sealed, just bigger.
Upgraded my front three, from Klipsch 600c, and R625fa, to Monitor Audio Gold. Much better, it takes time, but hopefully we all get there. PS the wife now has the Klispch in her system. Her Sony amp can drive them ok.
I love Martin Logan’s.I have the Motion 40 and the Slim Xl.The only thing i don’t like about it sucks when listening to music via RU-vid.May be i am not doing something right.I hope somebody can help.
Hey Youthman. What do you use in your 2 channel setup with those F200. Preamp or a receiver? I’m looking to do a similar setup in my living room. Thanks
They look great in your system and complement everything! I look forward to when I build my next house, it will have a dedicated music room. I will be using Klipsch jubilee‘s and 3 JTR Captivater subs. I will use 2 Captivator 4000ULF-TL next to the Jubilees, and 1 Captivator 4000ULF-ST as a near field behind the two Theater seating style seats. Room size would be 36’L x 24’W My dedicated home Theater room will be 24’ wide by 50’ long, with full JTR speakers, 27 8 12 bed layer, subs, atmos. Everything running with Trinnov processors and amps. With three rows of 5 for seating.
@@keepingupwiththejones2933 we'll see if he returns to Klipsch for his two channel. I say he will soon. I've tried 10 different brands over 40 years but always miss the Klipsch sound and end up with them again.
This video just goes to show what a huge role personal preference plays in this hobby. No disrespect to anyone that likes them, but I cannot stand the sound of Klipsch speakers. My first ever girlfriend, back in Middle School, her Dad has these huge set of Klipsch towers. He loved classic rock and I thought he was the coolest Dad ever. One day I'm over at their house and he fires up those things, and all I could think was "please God, make it stop". I knew nothing about A/V back then, but I remember those speakers. Since then, I've tried several times to give Klipsch a chance, and after just a few minutes of listening I am always like "nope, not for me!" I am blown away that you've owned 50!
Klipsch is probably the most polarizing brand I know of. You either love the dynamics, clarity and detail, or you find them as annoying as nails on a chalk board. There really isn’t an in between.
I am disappointed you didn't mention more about the plinth. Talking about the plinth is usually the highlight of these videos. Again this video did not have enough talk about the plinth. The plinth really deserves more screen time. Plinth...
Michael is using a Martin Logan center channel in his 2 channel setup? That's not 2 channel. Clearly other speaker brands are sponsoring the channel versus Klipsch.
For clarification, Klipsch has never sponsored my channel, nor has MartinLogan. The only channel sponsor I have had is Arendal Sound. Over the past 6 years, I have had many sponsored videos which are always disclosed. You never have to wonder whether a video is sponsored or if I have a sponsored relationship with a brand. I have always been transparent with my audience. With 920 videos on my channel, I don’t expect you to have seen all of them. I personally have a 2ch setup in my living room. I am reviewing a full Martin Logan Motion XT system with an HSU sub which is also in for review. Next, I’ll be swapping the HSU for dual MartinLogan subs.
i remember watching many of your videos many years ago when I first built my ht. as i'm doing a little bit of upgrading, i've found your vids again! anyways i just wanted to ask if you're a software engineer? you really caught my attention when you said you built their website for them, i love that! (im a student in swe)
Once you hear a dedicated midrange driver, there is no going back to Klipsch. I almost bought a pair myself... But after auditioning Monitor Audio, Paradigm, Martin Logan and Focal speakers, I ended up getting Monitor Audio and later upgraded to Focal speakers. Klipsch might be great for the money, But two Crutchfield advisers told me, Focal runs circles over Klipsch RF7's.
All speakers in the herriage line as well as the RF7 run compression drivers. The heresy, forte and Cornwalls are all 3 ways deigns. The LaScala is a two way. And the flagship Jubilee is also a two way. I have never heard anyone saying the LaScala or a jubilee is soft on the midrange. But I do know the RP-8000 are known to be soft there. Can’t say the same for the RP-280. I think you need to hear more Klipsh before you make a blanked statement about the entire brand.
I wouldn't say it is brand loyalty, I've just always enjoyed the sound of Klipsch since I was 15 when I would visit Sound Advice every weekend to demo Home Theater gear.
Klipsch typically revises the 7's with a new version every 5 years. Next year would put that around that timeframe. Last I spoke to Klipsch, they had no plans to replace the RF7 III.
Each have their own unique characteristics and were reviewed at different times, and in different rooms of my home. The 1723 were reviewed in my dedicated theater room which is properly treated, while the F200’s were reviewed in my living room with less than optimal acoustics, but typical of what most peoples living rooms would sound like. it’s really difficult to do an AB comparison, especially if you do not have them set up with switching so you can easily switch between speakers to hear the differences in real time. I wish I would’ve had more time with them so that I could put them in the same room and at least do some AB switching between them.
You do a good job on your posts Youthman. We have owned Klipsch Chorus II's and Academy center channel since 1997/1998. We use KG 2.5's mounted on omnimounts for back surrounds about 6 feet up on the wall..about 9 feet behind us. All speakers do have the Crites titanium tweeter diaphragms. I replaced all mostly due to curiosity, but wanted them to match ALL the speakers. I saved all the oems in case.Replaced all of them with Crites many years ago now. We do use 2 Klipsch subs and an Hsu one too. ( old ones too LOL) I am 60 now and will never replace my speakers as I (we) enjoy the sound so much. They still look brand new, even kept all original boxes. We listen most days we are in the house. All about choice for sure.... and yup, if you do not have a dedicated room for audio, all we could do is make the best of what we have for looks and that they sound good. Just cannot replace my babies! Love em!...still!😄 Your living room looks great!👌
Your living room setup looks similar to ours...but instead of those wood tones, white. Wanted those front tweeters ALL at seated height too with big screen tv almost touching the top of the Academy. We keep those coyotes, wolves and cougars stirred up best we can around here. Take care~ @@Youthman
The new owner here. 😎👍 Temporarily put the RF7 III in my living room and disconnected the monitor audio platinums. My wife thinks they fit good in the living room since big cathedral ceiling. I still think the Monitor Audio Platinum are a better speaker but driving the RF7 III with some legit power on that amp makes me think im going dedicated amp in bedroom now As for the cars wait until the 720S Spider shows up next month. 😁
Funny, he was describing you and I was thinking that sounds like the guy I “know” on corvetteforum. Then as he was going through the cars it was sealed. You also know/knew my ex BIL Craig, he has a tt r8, we don’t talk much now lol. I’m c4dc over there though that car is long gone and I don’t post much, but did on your last what car should I get thread.
I have the Rf-7iii and the Martin Logan motion xtf-200 The xtf -200s simply best the rf-7iii in every aspect from the bass all the way up to the treble. You literally can’t put these two speakers on the same level
In my room, the RF7 III had a bit more slam which makes since considering dual 10" woofers have more surface area than (3) 8" woofers. Two 10" = 157.08 Three 8" = 150.8 But I definitely prefer the midrange and smoother top end of the F200's. They are definitely on similar levels. Next level would be something like JTR or Ascendo, which neither the F200's or RF7 III's can remotely compete.
If I want to listen to high performance, bland looking speakers, I go to my theater room and listen to my JTR’s which are far superior to the MartinLogan F200’s
@@Youthman Bland is in the eye of the beholder. "In your ear with a spear!"?!?! If all else fails, one can resort to a curtain/screen that's acoustically transparent. And they say I have no sense of humor.
Heck I redone my speakers painted them I’m a hobbyist at heart. If I had credit with Best Buy like I have now best believe I’d been done had two Klipsch speakers with my Yamaha receiver instead of selling for those Edison speakers from a furniture store I bought furniture from many years. At the time just had to work with what I had for 15 inch woofers all they needed was a better horn speaker JBL compression driver plus better crossover networks and a paint job. Now that I’m thinking of space those Klipsch 800’s look good to me now.
Nope, they are the real deal. They just don’t work that well. I have exotropia which is where my right eye turns outwards. I had an eye operation when I was two years old and have worn corrective lenses ever since.
I have been a home cinema enthusiast since the last 20 years started small and worked my way up, I was a B& W kind of guy. I think I am nearing a point where I have tried every speaker, projector, AV Receiver, you all know the drill, I have come to a point in my life where upgrading doesn’t thrill me any more as I really don’t see much point as to notice any difference I would have to spend 10’s of thousands of pounds dollars more to achieve anything better than what I have now, suppose I have equipment that you really can’t get any better as it is currently is the best. I owned B & W 702 S3 Left & Right & the HTM72 S3. I sold those for the RF-7 III Right & Left & the RC-64 III centre channel. What I noticed was the quality of the construction of the Klipsch versus B & W. B & W is way better built with the piano lacquered finish the Klipsch are good don’t get me wrong but not on par with B & W where the Klipsch do excel is in A home Cinema dedicated room, I run those through a dedicated power amplifier connected to a Denon top of the range AV receiver. Am I happy with Klipsch hell yes would I change them for another speaker definitely not they produce Movie music & sounds with aplomb. The Klipsch speakers are like Marmite for our North American friends please Google Marmite as you either love it or hate it, I love the Klipsch speakers I love the sound and the front sound stage is fantastic, what I don’t like too much are those 10’’ driver copper bin lids, they drive me wonky looking at them so I keep the front grilles on and they disappear. Looks like I will keep these Klipsch speakers forever I have no reason to sell them as they are a fantastic sounding speaker, I got them in black the centre was in natural cherry so I painted that one black did a fantastic job honestly you would never know it wasn’t factory and it matches the front L & R. Sorry you sold the Klipsch but you got to do what you got to do, move on and upwards. Newer is not necessarily better a speaker cabinet is a speaker cabinet with a driver in a tall oblong box they never change what the Klipsch RF 7 lll do is give that cinematic feel to a movie soundtrack that is what I noticed as the B & W’s never did was gave that Cinematic sound, Suppose you have a dedicated Cinema room with bigger speakers than the Klipsch for your front sound stage I am at a point where I have made the decision to say these Klipsch are the end of the speaker upgrade path for me at least I cant see me getting anything better as I would need to spend at least 10K more to get a better sound than my current speaker setup. That’s my rant, God Bless you Sir.
Those Martin Logan's do look great in your living room. I do understand the Klipsch love and hard letting go. I own a pair of KLF-20's that I've had for nearly 30 years. I've upgraded the crossovers and mid range but have been contemplating getting something new and a little more modern. God bless you too!
@@Youthman I just picked up some bassboss speakers 😅 not same category theyre pa speakers but their 21" subs put out vicious bass. Esp the kraken. Im thinking of pairing two rf 7 iiis with the kraken or a vs21. I bet the output would match perfectly
@@Youthman I watched your videos on jtr captivator rs1s sealed and was between that and the bassboss.. but went with the bassboss because its more indirect so you can go louder to energize a room without it pointing straight at your face and ears lol. Sometimes you just have to 'let go' Only remember the *good times* with the Klipsch. The separation anxiety must get bad at times Michael! 😁 Time will heal all wounds.! Anyway Martin Logan seem to have very well made speaker cabinets, and excellent overall sound output enjoyment.
