These things happen , it shows that you're truly care about the animals and aren't one of the ones who give hunting a bad rap because of their lack of empathy . A true hunter respects and loves the quarry we go after .

I’ve been deer stalking in the U.K. for a considerable time now. It doesn’t always go exactly as intended. I’ve lain in bed quite a few time’s analysing a shot. Really enjoying your video’s.

Don't beat yourself up it happens to every hunter at one point and time I shot a giant last year and never found him I have been hunting since I was 10 years old and I'm 34 now so it happens I know it's a heart wrenching feeling but don't beat yourself up about it just keep doing you it sucks I know but at least you found him I looked for the one I shot for a month and never found him I know it's still not the same but it makes it a little easier knowing you found him and made the best effort you could to find him that night so keep at it and congratulations on the great buck

Great buck. I agree with Backyard Problem Solver, we've all made bad shots. As far as bad shots go though, that was about as good a bad shot as you can ask for. CONGRATS!!!

Don't beat yourself up too bad for the shot, Kelly. It's unfortunate but it happens, the good news is you recovered the deer! 20 years ago we were bow hunting Moose at home here in Alberta. One of my friends who is a wicked shot with a bow took a shot and "Liver Shot" the Moose. We searched for 3 days through timber you could barely walk through and never turned him up. The wolves got a free meal. One misplaced shot doesn't mean you give up though and now you just need to practice and get your confidence back up to hunting strength again. I shot a buck a month ago through the liver. Didn't lead him enough, walking left to right. After bullet impact, he hopped twice and went down like a sack of "taters". That was that. I hit him with a .270, shooting Winchester Power Points. I had a few of those rounds left and couldn't remember why I wasn't using them. Well, I remember now! Those rounds tend to explode on impact, which is exactly what happen. When I dressed the buck, the largest piece of the liver was smaller than a golf ball! Ironically, no guts were shot. That was a blessing!

I kno Bluegabe likes to live on the wild side. Me being a South Texas native for almost 40 years. He definitely needs to becareful coming into these woods. Should get him a good pair of boots or snake boots n recommend some tough jeans never kno when u have to go deep into the brush filled with cactus, thorn bushes, Javelinas, rattle snakes ect. Your face of utter shock when the illegals walked by on the sandero "the what?" sandero, was priceless. Really didn't look like that bad of a shot you made, btw. It's just in that country it's so hard to get through it makes tracking that much harder, I'd imagine. That was a big ol buck, you should be proud.

Kelley, if you get caught off guard again and have to load your weapon, press it onto your leg in a safe direction, put your left hand over the ejection port and chamber slowly...Try it a few times while unloaded and you'll see how quite it is...P.s love what you guys do.

There is a cactus that if you get near it the thorns will shoot into you. They are so fine..thinner than a hair..hurts big time and you cant see them. Not fun..take care and be safe

Tracking deer in South Texas brush country isn’t the most fun, but when you get a nice buck it makes all the hard work worth it. I’ve lived in South Texas my whole life and have hunted nearly every county. Y’all need to get on a Nilgai hunt, it’s one of the prettiest animals and the meat is my favorite.

Congratulations that's a big mature 10 point. It happens to everyone no matter how good of a shot you are you get shook up sometimes and miss your mark. That's just part of hunting.

Glad that you at least found it. I'm a desert rat from Az up along the Colorado and the Tx and Az heat is no joke if you aren't use to it. The good hunting grounds here often run along the reservation and if the deer/elk cross after you shoot it you can't pursue it and you have to get permission from the BIA (Indian Affairs) to get it and by then either the coyotes or the maggots have gotten it.

Unfortunately it happens, not all shots are going to be perfect the only thing you can hope for is to learn from the experience, the fact that you uploaded this content proves you to be a mature person who is able to own your mistakes and undoubtedly learn from them, keep up the good work and try not to beat yourself up about it, move forward and improve. thanks for the content

Aaand beside the big sp!ikes,cactus have very tiny stickers that go down into your flesh ant really hurt alot so be real careful!! Okay!! Its been great watching you guys learn and grow. . .

Also when you brace your rifle your left hand should be on the rifle and where you are bracing it. If you don't do this the rifle while and can roll left and right causing your shot to go left or right..Best brace is put your left on on the brace and place the rifle stock between your thumb and four other fingers.. This will greatly improve your accuracy and consistency...

I shot a doe right 8n the neck this year bullet hit a tree branch but luckily enough it also nicked the spine so it paralyzed the deer

Great content and congratulations. Always great to see women in the outdoors-my teenage daughters like watching your videos. We are about to head out on our annual Christmas deer/pig/gator hunt here in central Florida. Not shooting for over a year and taking only a single shot without another to verify zero before hunting is not much preparation. Quickly loading a gun and having the barrel behind the guide at 7:20 may not be the best example of gun safety for other hunters to emulate. Please keep the great content coming. All the best

So was there any meat able to be salvaged or was this a total rack hunt. Where I hunt in the northwest if you take a deer close to dark you go after it. On one occasion at about 4:30 one was shot, We crossed 3 small ravines, scale basically a rock face in the snow, we found where the deer had fallen and then slid of the top of the rock face down into one of the ravines. We got the deer back to the truck at about 11 pm. Once we got back to the camper and gathered things up we got back home around 4 o'clock in the morning. I believe you put a hole in an animal you stay on it and put it out of its misery as soon as you can. Hopefully it wasn't still alive as the coyotes were eating its backside.

Still have enough for a great mount. Bad shots happen to everyone.

Good hunt. Sometimes you have a bad shot, it happens to everyone that has been hunting for years.

I went bass fishing in San Diego Ca and watched over 200 pass by. It’s was 110 degrees. I don’t support this but I had to give the 8yo kids with backpacks sodas. They were on their 2nd day of hiking. It makes me so angry every time I see the pics of them on my computer.

Congrats!! Nice buck. You got lucky, I shot a deer last year in about the same spot and lost it, unfortunately mine didn't hardly bleed at all. But that's the way hunting goes.

If super HOT how can you sit in your deer blind for hour and hours? I from MN and during the deer season opening we have the colder weather time and I use mr. Heater to keep us warm so I can stay inside my deer blind for many hours

I doubt your shot being off was much your fault. If you shoot dead on with your Cold Bore Shot , which is usually out of a clean barrel that 1st shot is going to be different then your other shots. You had shot dead on, with a cold bore then when you shot the deer you didn't hit where you aimed because it wasn't a cold boar short/ clean barrel shot. Sight in with a dirty barrel like your 3rd shot, more realistic you won't have a clean un-shot barrel when you're out hunting.

So sad that the beautiful buck didn't just drop where it stood for you ! Even sadder that the coyotes helped themselves to your kill ! I'm not sure how you missed the kill zone after seeing that target practice shot ? Now that was really impressive to me ! It is what it is ! STILL , A VERY NICE BUCK TO BRING HOME !!! CONGRATULATIONS !
