I love this! Costco in the UK has changed so much since the last time! Also your membership is global too! You can walk into a Costco in whatever country you visit too. The food changes too
In a country where it is forbidden to speak out loud, the only thing to do is to dig graves and die at the same time. Before the election, in Spain itself, they support Russia. What is Russia's fault? Children of mothers are dying in the war, where the war started to throw negativity on the people and to group a platform where you can make money for the West and get rid of the Russian and Ukrainian people. Come to your senses? Do you like genocide? You are emotional being in Europe and in the West, but at this moment nobody understands, the place of reasoning, they do to continue the war, which is genocide on people over the people of Russia and Ukraine, which prevents politicians and authorities who after the destruction steal and share the money.
Hey Taz! Quick tip for the Jumbo Muffins from Costco! I find that I can't finish a whole tray before some of the muffins start to mold so I've started freezing half of them when I get home so that they don't go off before I've had a chance to eat them. They defrost really nicely, just take them out of the freezer and leave it on the counter for around an hour before you want to eat it. Hope this helps!
@@michelewilla i've frozen donuts and it's great. Here in the netherlands at lidl the donuts come frozen to the store. So why not freeze them as you get them
I didn’t know in other countries you needed to meet certain qualifications to join, that’s so interesting! I just pay the yearly fee. I used to go a little overboard at first, but I’ve gotten pretty good at only buying a few things that I eat a lot of so I can justify the buying in bulk. Plus it’s the cheapest place to buy gas - I think that alone might be worth it. That brand of kimchi is my absolute fave!
Ooo saw a TikTok where a woman cuts the muffins in half, puts then in individual freezer bag, squeeze out the excess air then freezes them, then microwave for 30 seconds when you want one. Genius, also yes please a whole week of Costco
Hey Taz, I think a cool video might be a camping trip with some friends. The plot twist, all food needs to be on a low budget and food must be cooked on an open flame. 😊
As someone from the US, was pretty funny watching someone explore Costco for the first time, something I've grown to feel is commonplace (here before I was born)
Not Taz being like, "It's not like the best pizza I've ever had," after having just roadtripped across Europe to Italy to try the best pizza in the world. 😂
How about 24 hours or a full week eating only food from Borough Market (or other similar large market)? It would be entertaining to see Taz try the massive variety of international foods available.
Like always love your videos!! Costco employee here! The reason why they put the TV and the expensive stuff in the front is to trick your brain into thinking all the stuff you gonna see in the back is so cheap cuz you just saw a 5,000-dollar TV. Also, the restaurant is cheap because they almost make no money off it, it's just to attract people (the same goes for the rotisserie chicken).
I would love to see a video where you ask your international fans what their favorite foods are and you either try to recreate them or have someone recreate them for you to to try.
There are trade and personal memberships in the UK and you have to qualify for both. However, you can get around this by getting added to someone's membership (you get your own card). After one year you can get a membership card in your own right. That's how I got mine.
I loved Costco when I was a member, but had to stop because you do tend to over buy 😅. I would like to see a week of eating Costco but maybe with tips for dividing items up and freezing - how to not waste a lot of food when you over-shop kinda vibe - I just HATE food waste. Thanks ❤
They have great deals on ziplock bags and food saver items so they’ll help you buy even more….we tend to eat all of the things we buy lol! But we always pack real food for our lunch.
Muffins and croissants generally freeze pretty well, so wedge any extras you have in your freezer. You'd be surprised by how many things freeze well... ^_^
So costco muffins r too big for anyone. So I cut them in half and freeze them in individual ziploc bags (which you can also get at costco). Then u can either pop them in the airfryer or a toaster oven straight from frozen. You also missed out on the croissants!!! They r the best! Naans r also freezable and then just heat it up on the stove top on a pan when u want them!
In America (CA) anyone can get a costco membership regardless of occupation or if you are unemployed, just pay 60$ a year. Why in the UK you have to have a certain job to get one?
This is so interesting for me bc everything about costco is like s&r here in the Philippines 🇵🇭. From the canteen food to the layout. Brands being sold are different but basically everything else is the same down to the greenhouse being sold 😂
pro tip - you could easily buy the sushi party platter and freeze it by dividing the sushi pieces in smaller sized meal boxes and freeze directly when they're still fresh - that way you can eat them later by just defrosting them before eating, the quality won't either be bad (ofc not 100% as good as eating them fresh, but still good!)
When I was a kid and did lemonade stands, I’d sell the Costco muffins too and turn quite a profit! I sold them for more than double what we bought them for! Idk about now, but they used to be less than $1/muffin in those packs, and I’d sell them for like $2. Still a great deal for those buying them since bakeries charge at least $3 for muffins that size, and I got to make a nice profit as well! 😊
I think your friend was confused by the taste of 7-up because it was diet 7up. I joined Costco for the first time last year and was disappointed by their cafe. All the refillable drinks were diet drinks and the hot dog is beef which I really don't like. I've since heard that the mango smoothie is really nice so next time I think I'll try that. The bakery stuff seemed really low quality to me but I was very impressed by their ready meals. I got the taco one but really wanted to try them all. The taco one was very nice and pretty good value I'd say but on my next visit I tried the jalfraizi and it was average. I was also a bit disappointed by the rotisarrie chicken but that might be because it spent ages in my trolly and by the time I got home it was cold, as you'd expect.
Damn, In Australia anyone can get a Costco membership. You just go in, sign up and pay. That's so wild that you need to have specific things to get one in the UK
im STOKED you will not believe how much i love costco! Warning tho: FREEZE THE FOOD especially if you arent going to eat it within a week. they dont use preservatives so the bread and pastries freeze really well, but they also spoil super fast. Also its way cheaper to toiletries and cleaning supplies there, it lasts almost a whole year!
Interesting that you need to qualify to be a Costco member. Anyone in Canada can go buy a membership and use it anywhere around the world. I have noticed that the menus differ slightly depending on your country. My kids got pretty upset in US Costco when they couldn’t get French fries!
Crazy that the UK only allows membership if you have certain professions. I’m also a Brit but bought my membership abroad and there are zero restrictions in Costco’s around the world like the UK, also the membership is cheaper abroad than the UK (at least in the country I am in now 😂) and I can use my membership anywhere in worldwide Costco’s
Hello from Canada. Always love your videos. Costco muffins freeze well. Yes to a week of Costco eating and maybe do each day of the week only eating food starting with a certain letter.
The Costco Food Court items aside from pizza and hotdogs are actually regional! I've had poutine and chicken wings in Canada and the states have deli sandwiches (used to be a delicious hot turkey one, now it's roast beef). The pizza in NYC is thin crust! Costco is my happy place!
I live in New Zealand and we got our first costco here last year which is in my city but the total opposite side (at least an hour away) so I haven't gone yet. Since my parents died in the past few years it's just me and my two puppies so I would be selective about what I bought so that l don't waste anything. I shop at tge beginning of the month for everything I'll need and half way through I leave part of my budget for a fresh food top up so it could work for me. I've watched many supermarket videos from overseas countries and it's amazing how cheap food is in places like the states compared to here and we have less food options. To go to costco here you have to pay $NZ60 for a membership and anyone can get one. I just found your channel tonight starting with the personal chef video and now I'm binge watching. 😊
idk how it is in other countries but in the US they don't require anything for you to get a membership. was surprised that it's more strict where she is
And that's the problem with Costco. If you want to save money you have to buy the things you go for. If you spend time browsing and keep saying "Ooooh, that's cheap....and so is that....that too..." you'll end up buying way more than you need and spend a lot more money than you would in a normal supermarket. When I go I have a list of what I need and I stick to it unless I see something I need which I've forgotten to put on my list. The one item I do like to buy from Costco are their golf balls. The Kirkland Signature balls are very good balls at a fraction of the price of main brand balls. In my pro shop the equivalent ball to the one I get in Costco costs £36 for a dozen. I can buy TWO dozen from Costco for £30, saving me £42 for two dozen balls. The saving from that one purchase alone more than covers the cost for my Costco membership and I make several ball purchases per season.
Recently I've been really struggle of making sure I feel myself properly and for that I turned to Costco's cousin store, Sam's Club. They also have prepared meals, and trust me, you can eat them for a week -- or grab them to freeze!
I gave up my Costco membership because I was broke "saving money"!!! Every time I went in "for a few groceries" I spent $300... 😆 I nipped THAT in the bud real quick! The cheap hotdogs are crap, but, yes, okay... delicious.
I WISH Costcos in the states still had the gelato. They never rolled it out nationwide but had it in pilot/test locations. I had it for a week straight when I was in Orem, Utah once. I still think about it. 🤤
I don't have a Costco-specified job, I don't have a Costco-specified qualification, and I don't run my own business. So I can't have a Costco membership? Wrong! I have my personal membership card without being in any of their qualifying categories. There are other ways of getting a Costco membership. Please make sure the information you give is accurate.
This is genuinely so weird, its like watching a person who grew up on another planet experiencing stuff on earth for the first time. How have you never been to costco before 😭
I didn't know there was Costco in the UK! But why only certain jobs can get a membership card? I feel so left out. Also from a marketing point of view I don'T get why they would shut out people...I mean they are losing on potential customers this way, or what? Someone pls enlighten me!
COSTCO is dangerous!! lol A Chinese friend mine always made her own dumplings - NOW , she will only buy the Costco dumplings. She says they are as good as her home made dumplings, and saves her the hassle of making a few 100 dumplings at a time .
