This is what makes your channel so great. You go from a high end restaurant to a Costco food court and everything in between. Hope that your ankle injury has healed up. Have a great day everyone.
Nothing beats a coscto hot dog! You can now tell the mrs you are taking her to eat at an exclusive members only joint - the look on her face when you roll up to Costco will be priceless
I always eat when I’m in Costco, Gary. Affordable, and very decent. Never ever been disappointed. It’s absolutely non comprehensible to me why food in Costco is so much better than some ‘proper’ restaurants. The pizza in particular is always my go to meal in Costco. I love the way you mix up your reviews, especially quirky little ones like this. Very creative of you. Cheers, mate!
I spent 16 years working for Costco in Aberdeen before i retired, Now living in North Thailand with my Thai wife, The food at Costco is great value, My father used to love the Chicken Bake i would take him one home after i finished my work made his day, How i wish Costco would open out here in Thailand miss going to Costco.
@@พรสวรรค์ปทุมซ้าย-ผ7ค I do go to Makro however they will never be as good as Costco and there prices are not any better than any other store, CP has to much of a hold in Thailand, Yet they supply Costco.
It's really good business plan. The same as ikea meatballs the food is closely associated with the brand so people like to go to the shops just as much for the the food as the shop itself so there low priced to get people to keep coming through the doors. Costco looses millions every year around the world selling the hot dogs at that price but they don't care we they make it back in sales in the shop
@faganliam2007 how do you know they lose millions every year? it's not like a hot dog is super expensive to begin with, same goes for the drinks and i doubt that most people drink more than 1-2 cups anyway. plus they probably get a BIG bulk discount on the ingredients since they buy tons of that stuff every year. don't get me wrong, the price is fantastic, but saying they lose money is a bit hard to believe.
@@faganliam2007You couldn’t be more wrong. Back in 2017 I worked on a Costco audit. Their biggest margin is in the food court. Back then, the frankfurter elements was around 18p whilst the soda syrup was negligible, call it 2p. That’s almost 90% profit. It is also why they have never had to increase the price point.
Only shop I actually enjoy going to now, no stress, great prices, great service, large parking spaces, cheap petrol, lots of choice and quiet ( I go at 9:30am)
When it costs £16+ for a hot dog and chips in the O2 and you can get that lot for the same price, that's crazy! The pizza slice was the size of a 10" pizza! Great value, 89,600 people maybe heading to Costco this week, lol!
The thing about Costco food hall is that the items are sold on the shelves, so if you like something you can stock up whilst your there. The beef hot-dogs are nice but they also sell the traditional cinema hot-dogs which are much nicer IMO. For value, Costco is hard to beat.
I agree, surprisingly decent food at Costco and great value. I've eaten at that very branch a few times as it is my local one. And yes, the chicken sammich is dry, but mayo is available there and the chicken is nicer than KFC, IMHO. Nice to see your fingers have learned a bit of restraint on the touch screen. too!
You can pick up all the food on the shelves. The bakes are like £10 for 4 to have whenever you want. Although it is a struggle with the pizzas as they’re too big to fit in my oven. Not sold in the food court, but the rotisserie chicken and ribs are also a good shout if they do them in the shop. The shop can also be good value - buy a lot of fruit, veg, meat, butter, juice, cereal and cleaning supplies there (just need the space to store it)
Good Jaysis Gary. A hundred thousand subs in a year. Feck sake it’s unbelievable. Who else could achieve that? No one! The food in Costco is bang on. They have to be loosening money. Another great offering lads. 👍
The trick with the double chicken sandwich is to add your own mayo (near the sauces counter) but wrap it in foil and leave it for 45min. Still warm but by then it’s all melted into itself and it’s sooo good.
Love the fact that you review outlets like Costco to Michelin stared outlets and everything in between Gary but I always say value for money is one of the most important things in the catering industry and this may not have been high end dining it certainly was value for money , I’m a member of the Croydon branch of Costco and I will give one of those hot dogs a go next time I’m there one that size at my local cinema is about £7 and that’s without a drink which is about another £4 so £1:50 at Costco for both is ridiculously good value , I can highly recommend their 6 pack of fresh cream Victoria sponges , I don’t eat all 6 i might add , 5 is my limit , great review as usual my friend 👍
Costco also do Michelin - they will change your tyres and rotate the wheels while you do your shop and food court. Best prices for Michelin star tyres ever.
The quality is a lot better than you expect for the price. Never had any issues with Costco in Gateshead apart from the waiting time. A lot better than most cafes in supermarkets etc.
I like to go in Costco in a weekend, Samples are out, Whisky, rum, vodka, Chicken, fish & cakes,, You get fed and drunk for free Gaz, Just keep going around 😂
Food is fantastic value. As for Costco as a place to shop, i always found that by the time they've added the VAT to the final total, your food shop isn't really saving you anything. Great review.
The two best parts of Costco is the quality of their meat/fish and their Kirkland range. Both will save you an absolute fortune over the junk that supermarkets flog.
Thanks Gary for a great video. Can’t knock the value at Costco! An idea for a future video could be the bloopers which you and the camera man cut out of videos or a behind the scenes style video! Keep up the great work!
wish we had costco over here, £1.50 for a large hotdog and refillable drink, that is amazing, the chicken burger just needed a slathering of mayo or southwest sauce, amazing value Gary
Outstanding value for money. Quality of good for the price. This is what we love about Gary. He reviews places from the top is the market to the lower end. I know I would have preferred this to the £100 rip off buffet from last week. I love hot dogs so that would have been my choice but the chicken bake looked the best. That value was incredible. I think it's a fair score at 7/10.
Visiting the food hall is part of the Costco experience for me here in Korea. A bit like when I was a kid and my mum took us to Woolworth's or BHS's restaurant after shopping there. Like you said, it's great value and if you have a family, affordable to treat the kids unlike many places for many people. Thanks for the review Gary. Now you have a yearly membership, you can avail yourself of that chicken bake at any time.
I love costco. The fact they have kept their price down for so long and not budgeted with inflation is a credit to them. The hot dog and refillable drink for £1.50 is outstanding. Great review as always Gary
Another enjoyable review, пан Eats. I was surprised both: 1) that you liked the flavors as much as you did (I thought it might have been too salty or greasy for you), and 2) that you rated it as you did after liking it so much. I’m normally pretty close in my guesses, and after hearing you talk about the food I thought it was going to be an 8 or 8.5 (mainly due to the value). Glad to see you’re a pro now at the ordering screens! I’ve ordered Nandos Peri Peri sauce after watching your review of the restaurant and it is a delicious sauce! (We only have a few Nandos in America, and I am very far from all of them)
hi gary, was a van driver, and i would go nationwide, vat registered, so diesel for a fill-up,also the cheapest price, but you did`nt mention that, then a parusual around the ailes inside,a tuck-in at the food hall. best prices for a lot f things, but sometimes they can be exspensive,.still a great review though, welldone.
It's been like 10 years since I've been to Costco. Now I want to go again! I used to love eating the free food samples as I walked around the store 😅 I was surprised to hear that the hotdog and drink are still the same price. Crazy value! Theres not many food products (if any) that haven't gone up in price in the last 10 years! Keep up the good work, Gary 😊
90k subscribers 🎉🎉🎉 Never in doubt mate 👏 Well done to you both! 100k by the end of the month ? Won't be far off thats certain. All the very best! Cheers 🍻
I want to become a member based purely on this review alone, that chicken bake looked so good, the hot-dog was a proper bargain. All the best to you and "Dave the Cameraman" from up here in Doncaster matey.
Yeh been lots of times , not my cuppa tea for the food but I’m fussy 🤣 everyone I know and have been with love it , and 100% it’s fantastic value and reasonable quality, I know the staff in our nearest store are brilliant and if you forget an add on the counter staff always give it to you . To be fair re the chicken bun being dry I suppose they don’t add sauces as you can help yourself to as many as you want . Great review again Gary 👏👍
The hot dog here in Canada Costco is $1.50 with a drink, current exchange rate is $1.73 to the pound so cheaper than the UK Costco, for that anyway, don’t know about the rest, I only ever get the hot dog. Was there a few weeks ago with my great granddaughter, aged 5. I asked if she wanted to share my hot dog, she said she wanted her own, and she ate it all !
Yes, my husband and I are Costco members. And because it is a great place to shop. I'm not hot to trot on the food court but must admit the fare is pretty good. Congratulations on your new membership; I'm sure you will love it as much as we do!!!
Best thing about shopping at costco is the hot wings from the rotisserie, for less than a tenner, they have a massive tray of them. We do our shop, sit in the food area and demolish the wings with a hot dog. I absolutely adore this place and look forward to our visits.
Another great review Gary.A nice mixture of bargain foods which looked very nice.Thank you for showing us all the different types of cuisines from expensive to cheaper it’s so enlightening to see and I enjoy your relaxing voice and fun personality.Keep it going your fabulous🙌
Now you see how well a person can eat at Costco for a very minimal price, maybe not worlds best but tasty, thoroughly enjoyable and filling. A working man's treasure chest. All my friends start off at the restaurant before they start shopping, it avoids the impulse buying of shopping when hungry. Most Costco products are exceptional value. Hope you enjoyed your Costco adventure
So happy you’ve reviewed Costco Gary. Love that place just need to make sure the boot is empty 😂😂 food is fantastic value for the price and the petrol is a lot cheaper than anywhere else
Sunbury is our local, after shopping the wife always gets a chicken bake. All in all the food fills the gap. Nerver had a complaint. Re the Chicken in the bun. You can buy the chicken in a large bag, then Into the Air Fryer and control the cook time and its always moist, and has a crunch.
For the 1st time ever with your videos Gary I just feel quite speechless. Haven't got a Costco here, they're on about building one, if they do then I'm beaming straight down to it. Weighing everything up, cost, volume, taste etc in this day when money is a little tight, how can this place not be an easy 10 ??? Yes, no doubt not the best quality and for sure, that chicken burger looked incredibly dry, the rest looked pretty damned good to me ..... but ultimately, if I want value and be satisfied, I'll come here .... if I want to waste money pointlessly then I go to that Bank place job you reviewed.
I'm not sure a table full of junk food can ever be considered value for money 😂 but yes, I do get your point. Hope you didn't feel too sick on the way home. My friend has a membership so will try the hotdog next time I go. In Australia we have the hardware store "Bunnings". They often have a simple BBQ setup raising money for various charities. Love their sausage sizzles!
Hi Gary I am glad you went to Costco, I can honestly say if you went shopping I would recommend the meat, its to die for. Brilliant video as ever, and I got to say how honest you are about the meal you have ordered, that's what I like about you. Best wishes and as always looking forward to next food review.
I Garry on our trip to UK we did go to Reading Costco and Watford one , We do buy things to take home to France if its a Bargen. We do have Costco in France but only around Paris maybe around only 4 in the whole of France , Same American type food on offer, Merci Jean-Marc
Warmest greetings, Gary from Vancouver 🇨🇦 My wife and I often shop at the local Costco for various items, you’re right about the food it is good value but not exceptional quality. my nieces and nephews definitely enjoy the food there, and their parents don’t mind splurging because of the cost. Reviews hopefully I’ll be over in the UK sometime this year, I appreciate all your wonderful tips and reviews. You seem like a great bloke and perhaps we will cross pass for a meal and a pint.
Thanks for another insightful video Gary! Crazy value for money to be fair! Not quite luxury dining but we spent £67 at Wagamama in half term and is was shocking, I think you’ve got to try them out Gary! You can see why Costco is so big in America.
Good to see u in Costco. I like going there. The petrol is really good value. Also they used to do Aberdeen Angus cottage pie. That was really nice. Also you could probably get your lunch from all the samples that are around!
My local Costco is in Milton Keynes and the food court is always packed out. Definitely get a lot for your money in there. You do have to be careful what you buy if you shop in there as well, as some stuff is very good value for money and some isn't.
Gary, thank you for a very fair review and rating. You might try some of the food court dispenser ketchup, mustard, relish to moisten your chicken sandwich. On our marathon visits to Costco we explore the aisles, shop for groceries, and end up at the food court to restore energy. Everyone orders sensibly, while I have the three scoops of gelato in a giant cone.
I used to go Costco Thurrock monthly when I lived SE London and the daughters were young. Back then I always had either the hot dog or a chilli Jkt and was never disappointed. Super value!
Decent of CostCo in Sunbury (I recognised your outside shots) to let you film. And it did them a favour with such a Stirling review! Looks like they have expanded their food range since I was last there. Think I'll pop back for a bite... 👍
Welcome to Costco. If you can find what you're looking for at Costco, you ought to buy it there. Their margins are much lower than other retailers. You don't have to wait for a sale and their return policy is top notch. The hot dog deal is legendary as well as their rotisserie chicken (in the meat department).
Great video as ever, we have been Costco members for years and find most things in store fantastic value. The other great thing they offer is their Optician service, great choice and again great value and very thorough with it, wouldn't entertain going anywhere else for glasses etc (the only thing is you def have to book an appointment in advance).
i went to costco today for the first time to try their pizza and i was pleasantly surprised... £10 for an 18 inch pizza, piping hot and it tasted pretty decent when you compare it to the franchise competition in this country.. it did give me food coma, i had to take a nap after!
Thank you for this review Gary. My friend and I love our regular visits to our local Costco. We always end with a visit to the cafe, great value. I guess it may be partly subsidised by the Member subscriptions? I don't know.... I always take home a Costco Pizza from the chiller too for hubby, its about the size of a Kingsize bedspread, and wrestling it into the oven is my workout for the day, win win ❤😊
Looks like good value, size and quality. I was amazed by the size of that pizza slice! Given the cost of living these days, it's great to see some of these cheaper options reviewed. I would love to see a review of Spud Man. I like a good jacket potato.
Hi, Gary. Love how you got your channel up on screen in the store 😂. I'm a sucker for the hot-dogs they do at Co-Op, warm, wrapped and ready. Here's to 100k 👍.
@GaryEats Hopefully the people who saw it up on screen while shopping or working decided to subscribe! The 2 guys I work with in the kitchen have subscribed - yes, we have started saying 'Peas are peas' and 'Chips are chips' to each other during service!
Excellent Gary. That food looked really nice, especially the hot dog, unbelievable how good the prices were, Excellent value for money. And the size of that pizza slice. Will definitely give this a go.
👍🏼 Value is the key word here Gary! You can’t knock it. I often grab a slice of their pizza along with the hotdog/drink combo for a bit of lunch .. £3:50… wild value!
