I hope you feel better! My dad got Covid nearly 2 years ago and he still can’t taste or smell almost all things! He said he can taste a little bit of salt or sugar, but most things taste like nothing. I feel so badly for him because he’s always been overly enthusiastic about food.

Got covid June 2020. My taste slowly over months came back but everything was awful. It was like licking a rusty pipe. It finally came to normal this past November

@@applesong01 I’m so glad it’s normal for you now but that sounds horrid about things tasting like a rusty pipe! I’ve also heard from some other people that things tasted and smelled like rotting meat and gasoline! This is such a strange virus unlike anything we’ve seen before! It just astonishes me that so many people still think it’s no big deal and it’s all fake!

I was actually just thinking about the whole mayonnaise pudding thing earlier today at work. I said to people "what if you put this mayo in a bowl and told someone it was vanilla pudding?". Or the nicer prank, of washing out a mayo jar, filling it with pudding, then eating it in public. My coworkers were less amused than I was at this idea.

fun fact: when I was a rambunctious child, one morning my mom asked me what I wanted for breakfast, and because I was a little shit, I said "Mayo". She brought me a bowl with mayo in it, and I ate it.

After every test known to science...my odd sinus condition (over a full year before Covid) went undiagnosed. I lost my sense of smell and taste. I gained strange transitory phantom smells and tastes instead. Now, the strange ones are seldom around...but my natural senses have only returned about 50%. Life is full of surprises!

Get well soon, Ty! I had Covid in October. Couldn't smell or taste either. I had olfactory hallucinations for about 3 more weeks. I smelled familiar, unpleasant smells where they couldn't be (e.g. mouse pee). Everything is fine now and I can smell and taste normal again. Cheer up, hopefully that will be the case for you too!

I don’t know if it was COVID or HRT, but a lot of things taste like dirt now unless I make them absurdly spicy. Like, the kind where people go “are you ok wtf is wrong with you.”

This was really funny to watch! My whole life I've had a very poor sense of smell and taste, and though it would be nice to get more of a flavour experience when eating, I quite enjoy not smelling most things. My sibling has a very good nose and I have never been envious of all the extra horrors they experience because of it.

I had covid last month, I should have tried this! I know most dairy products tasted like chalk to me, and I could taste some spices just like you could, but not much else. Smell was completely weird, everything smelled rotten!

I'm glad you guys feel better! I recently got my first round of Covid. My symptoms were fairly mild, I never had a fever, but I vomited for 3 days and could barely keep anything down.. It's been 2.5 weeks now and I still cough and have a runny nose. But luckily never lost my sense of smell or taste.

Amusing fact: My science fair project in grade school was "sensory deprivation" where I did this deliberately to avid volunteers. The thumbnail on this vid almost made me *not* watch because the mere sight or presence of mayo makes me lurch, but since I did two iterations of above experiment and one involved Mayo I felt required to as karmic retribution.

My dad had covid and then lost the appetite for bananas. He loved eating bananas during work for the potassium and its easy convenience while he drives a cement truck. It use to taste sweet to him, but post covid, it tastes bitter with a slight sharp tang. He’s low key heartbroken that he lost his favorite work snack. Lol Avocados has way more potassium than a banana, but its not an easy convenience to eat while driving.

DUDE! for your mouth get gengigel or whatever the amerian equivelant is. it is for general mouth pain but i have burning mouth syndrome where i get blisters in my mouth and this product is a lifesaver. i get extreme pain and gengigel takes it away completly. if you cant get it maybe teething gell would work bt i dont know

I lost my taste and smell for a month or two in the spring. I got sinusitis from covid lol, the covid itself was super mild but the sinusitis hurt. Sorry for this objectifying sidenote but Ty is so ridiculously gorgeous he's gender goals for cis and trans masc people alike
