I’m autistic and have a really hard time brushing my teeth but I keep these in my car because for some reason it’s not as much of a mental block for me. I was hoping this was a “something is better than nothing” situation
I have adhd and same. Sometimes, brushing teeth is just too much mentally. I've thought about getting one of those electric tooth brushes that look like a u for when I really just can't. But idk how good they really work.
@@getfitwithkatelynthe u toothbrushes are terrible and barely do anything. and they make you wanna gag and are so gross after. trust me you'll enjoy these regular types more than the u shaped ones
I'm pretty sure those U toothbrushes are silicone with no bristles and that's usually for babies who don't have their teeth yet but you still have to brush their gums.
Or for disabilities or other reasons why a normal toothbrush and toothpaste wouldn't be applicable. But I think the point she's making is how well they work. Some people think they work as well as brushing, some people think they're just a bandaid and don't actually clean. Clearly they're somewhere in the middle, cleans well enough.
@@TrinaWater so we make them out of biodegradable materials instead. Single use plastics aren't going anywhere, but we can make them better for the environment by not using petroleum based materials. Hemp, corn, and algae have all been made into biodegradable plastics. There's also the convenience factor there as well, things like this don't take water, they don't foam like regular toothpaste, they're smaller than even a travel toothbrush.
@@TrinaWater you don't have to spit, for one. It's also less steps for those who can't do multiple steps (tbi, dementia, ect) there's no one disability that this could be helpful for, and not every person with a disability would want/need it. The idea that it fits in your pockets is more marketing towards abled people (mostly because of the "who even needs that/why do they even make that" unnecessary outrage that some people have, not just questions but actually complaining and such. Most infomercial products are for disabilities, but again, marketed towards the general population. Most able bodied people don't need help putting socks on, but there are tons of products to help put socks on, for example.)
@@erosia4232I agree although I have an electric car, house runs of solar, and the majority of the time we use our heat pump to heat and cool the house. But it’s about doing what you can, not doing the most you can. If you can get an electric car, great! They are becoming cheaper which is fantastic. But it’s not an option for everyone
My first thought too 💀 Would love this though if it was more environmentally conscious. Like throwing stuff out isn’t ideal but I can see the convenience of this.
@@3SiameseCats however one thing many EV car owners fail to realize are the negative impact EV cars have behind the scenes. Mining for lithium and other components of the batteries containing rare earth elements are extremely harmful to the environment while destroying wildlife habitats along the way. Then once the batteries reach their end of life, a huge percentage of the batteries containing toxic metals end up in landfills which in turn leach out into and help destroy the ecosystem. Before you say that batteries are recyclable, the actual rate of recycling is still relatively low. Because all of this happens behind the scenes, EV car owners are not aware of it and honestly its really through no fault of their own. Please do some research into this and let other become aware.
i have adhd and struggle a lot with habit forming and brushing my teeth is one of those things for me. i use disposable brushes like this to keep my teeth a bare minimum amount of clean. i do feel bad about the environmental outcome from throwing away those little brushes but it's better than just letting my teeth rot out of my skull
I'm so tired of the environmental responsibility being placed on the shoulders of individual consumers instead of these mega corps who throw away thousands of pounds of plastics on a few days. Worked at a job that wrapped their parts in individual plastic bags. A single 8 hour shift would assemble 850 finished items. Each item used 2 parts and each part came in their own bag. That's 1700 plastic bags in one shift. It ran for 2 shifts. That's 3400 bags a day. And it ran 5 days a week. That's 17,000 bags a week. 68,000 bags a month. 816,000 bags a year. So your one consumable product is merely a drop in the bucket compared but, you've been made to feel guilty for doing something that improved the quality of your life through media and targeted propaganda. If they can make you feel guilty, then you won't focus on who's really to blame.
Don't feel bad, health is beter then pretending the problem is us and not companies. We live in a world where food is not put in grosry stors because it's not pretty anuff, don't worry about your little tooth brush trash. I just ordered a whole box of these and my slightly cleaner mouth will thank me more then the the Ozone will hate me
ADHD here too, maybe try putting alarms in for brushing and play your favourite songs to keep yourself engaged during new routines. :) I usually struggle to brush long enough bc I get bored so I just watch RU-vid during brushing. It's not stupid if it works.
Yo this is actually a very cool idea for those that don’t brush their teeth that often for whatever reason. I should just carry these around with me so when I try to use the excuse “I’m too tired, or I’m too busy” I can force myself to whip one of these things out lol
I understand some of you may not like this product for waste, but this isnt for you. This is for people who might struggle to do every day tasks like this. Those that are physically disabled and may not have the energy every day. Those who have executive dysfunction, those who have depression. Something is better than nothing. This is for them. Be kind!
so many people are so judgmental about these things for environmental and other reasons (some of which i do understand) but the thing is when you have depression, adhd, or any other condition that can make simple tasks like brushing your teeth more difficult, these things are lifesavers. Obviously they don’t do as well as a regular toothbrush but for something that people can carry in their bag for an emergency or keep by their bed if they are going through it and can’t find the strength to get up, th try work really well.
@XxKatexX001 to some peoplw it feels like it doesnt. For my sister she can brush the next day but it feels like it's still there and gross. She has to do it twice a day or she freaks. So it's person to person.
i have one molar that gets so dirty. it’s not crowned and has a filling. i try and clean it but has a dark ring around the margins. i floss it and use the little pick to get it off and use fluoride mouthwash and toothpaste. it doesn’t have a cavity but i don’t know what it is 😭
One of my front teeth has had a root canal on it and looks super dark. I get comments from my family all the time about it. My dentist said something like sometimes when part of the tooth or nerve dies the tooth actually changes colour. He said normal whitening doesn't work in this case. You have to drill in the tooth and whiten it from the inside out basically. But it's very effective in this scenario. 🤷 I just can't afford it right now. So when I can I'll get proper whitening on all my teeth and the special whitening procedure on that tooth. It could be a similar thing? And some old fillings (like my parents have) are actually a dark material so it could be this that makes the tooth look darker?? But most fillings are more tooth coloured nowadays.
@@kirstenmoore6632this whitening procedure is called devital whitening and its done on teeth which are dead(devital). It can be done on teeth during or after root canal treatment. There's no need to do that kind of invasive treatment on vital teeth. You can get a usual whitening or veneers(which only covers the front side of teeth, not the whole crown.). Veneers can made out of porcelain or composite fillings. It's your choice to get the one you want. Hope this information helps! (edit: sorry i just read that it already got rct. @@dislerimdokuluyor i just had my amalgam filling changed to composite maybe 5 months ago. i still had that line at the bottom and the dentist didn’t mention it and took x-rays. he said i have to floss more tho….
@@itsaaronlolz It may be amalgam that colored your tooth. If it's changed recently it won't be a problem. Just watch it over time. If it gets bad you can get checked again. And the flossing thing must be about your overall oral hygiene. Don't forget flossing, especially that area 😁
Not to bad for a out and about quick brushing but not a replacement for the real thing for sure, because if someone only uses this product every time when it comes to toothbrushing time I'd think the tater build up would happen fairly quick over a week or two ....thank you for taking the time to test this product so we don't have too. ❤
Those aren't meant to replace traditional teeth brushing, they are described as for on-the-go use because they are to be used for those times when you aren't at home and can't do a full brushing.
God, I remember these from when I had sinusitis. Was in hospital for 8 days with a golf ball sized abscess in my lower sinuses, and these were the only tooth rush I could fit in my mouth without it absolutely killing me 😖
I use these in a flight attendant and love the convenience with traveling . I pack my regular toothbrush and paste so these are handy for on the plane and to freshen up
These are great for braces after any meal at all. I wouldn’t use them everyday though as they do not do nearly as good as a job as a regular toothbrush. But a spinach salad with braces needs this. Or if you just have some bad breath I’ve used these for that too!
These would be great for me to keep in my car. I hate brushing before breakfast but i often don’t eat breakfast until in in my college class. This would be perfect excuse myself to the restroom to brush after eating
These were handy to keep in my purse during my early 20’s when I went out partying and would crash at a friend’s house where no toothbrush was available. Good-ish times 😂

I used to love those in elementary school. My younger siblings would use whichever toothbrush was left in the bathroom so some mornings I’d just brush my teeth while walking to school
These are great for ppl with mental health and chronic illness issues who may go through periods where you struggle to brush your teeth. Keep these in your night stand or car so you're still getting some dental hygeine done. The biggest upside is they reach so well in the back hard to reach molars, even better than traditional toothbrushes. The biggest downsides are the environmental impact, and the fake toothpaste has sugar in it, so your teeth will feel gross pretty soon after brushing.
I keep a bag of these in my lunch box, I usually only need then after a smelly lunch (garlic, onion, or something like that) however on the couple of occasions where I'm running out the door I am happy to have them to deal with morning breath and to scrub my tongue clean and then I rinse with a bottle of water. My take is it's better than nothing
I always have a bag of these in my car, by my bed, and in my travel toiletries (in case I forget to pack my nice toothbrush). I prefer my toothbrush, but sometimes I forget or I'm just so tired that it's just easier to use the one by my bed.
I love these but I'm annoyed because pharmacies stopped selling these a long time ago. You cannonly buy online. Which defeats the purpose. These are for when you are like for when you forget a toothbrush or can't get home
I’ve used these in the airport or plane on overnight flights, they’d also be good for other overnight travel but I wouldn’t use them in a place of actually brushing my teeth normally
I'm doing invisalign and bought wholesale boxes of wisps and floss stick things and I keep them in my purse and car in case I eat while I'm out. Nice to know it's not for nothing.

No FR tho… I can’t tell if it’s part of some series where she says that and some of them are iffy but the “I sacrificed my teeth 😢” for THIS… Meanwhile I am thinking about buying these to keep by my bed cause when I don’t have the energy to get up these seem MAD convenient, it’s better than not brushing!
I love seeing all the Autists and ADHD people here in the comments who also struggle with habit forming/hygiene. I really struggle with brushing my teeth for literally no reason, it's just a lot to do
The wisp might work if you don't have a toothbrush, but you wouldn't be able to brush your tongue to keep your breath fresh. I would feel so self conscious. Can't live without my tongue scraper!
I used to take a toothbrush out with me with tooth paste to clean my teeth when out drinking or when out all night socialising and throw the toothbrush away after 😅 why did it take so long for someone to do this
