I always love hearing your opinions on the skincare brands I review so please leave a comment with your experience with Sunday Riley or what you think of them!
I really liked a number of Ole Henriksen products when I worked at Sephora but it seems like they've completed revamped their brand since so I'm really curious to try everything now!
The cleansing balm problem sounds exactly like the Jaclyn Hill lipstick problem with the vegetable oils heating up and not be cooled fast enough causing “beads”.
Sahira Rodriguez I have all the Farmacy products already so it’s guaranteed! I just have a lot of requests for Ole Henriksen so I *might* do them first/next in this series
I’m very interested in Herbivore as well!🌿 I just bought their Phoenix face oil, & OMG... I’m loving it! I also picked up their Prism face oil/serum, & I’m not too sure about that one yet, but it’s not bad just waiting to see something special.. ⏰👀
SO glad you did Sunday Riley! I love a few of their products (CEO serum + UFO), but am definitely deterred from trying more because of the $$$. Glad to see which ones worked for you! Thanks for another great video! :) I would LOVE to see a Fresh brand review next!
I love these videos. So informative! I, on the other hand, love and use Sunday riley almost exclusively! I agree that the ceo line is a bit heavy for me. A Sephora associate recommended mixing the ceo serum with a bit of good genes-which I’ve grown to love. My core products are the ceramic slip cleanser, ceo oil for day. Luna and good genes at night. If any of ur viewers love SR like I do, I recommend the Sunday riley subscription box! Thanks again for sharing!!!
These videos are my favorite!! I’m so happy to hear that you weren’t totally floored by these products because I was personally debating whether to go for Sunday Riley or DE. Happy I’ve been a DE serum girl , they’ve been helping my skin reach its “full potential”. You’ve got a new subscriber ❤️
I use the higher percentage retinoid Sunday Riley serum and I put the ICE moisturizer over it. I have not had any problems with dryness. I used CEO every other day at night and then the retinol serum with ICE every other night. GREAT VIDEO. YOU are every well spoken and did a fantastic and thorough job on this review. Thank you!
I have oily acne prone and the Martian toner is a must have. It’s so cooling and calming for when I have breakouts and makes a huge visible difference by controlling oil production. Definitely a holy grail.
Finally, a Canadian who understands how much MORE we pay for everything!!! I have very sensitive skin (I just splurged on Sisley concealer and broke out in hives ☹). I can't use Ole Henriksen, nor Caudalie. I have found Burt's Bees cleansing oil to be the BEST CLEANSER I have ever tried. I am about to get Sunday's CEO cream. Sephora is coming on Tuesday, so now I'm nervous .
Thanks for your review. Your feedback vids are honest & refreshing. I have to say I adore Sunday Riley and am speechless as to how much better my skin looks! And oh my goodness- the smell! And feel... just amazing. I was surprised to hear the brand is either loved or dejected :s I started with CEO cream sample so got the full tub. Then the obsession began from there. Good Genes & Luna, Blue Moon, CEO Rapid Flash Brightening Serum. Though I am not crazy about the Saturn Sulfur. Just the smell is so awful. I do agree with the Vitamin C moisturisers are quite potent and they, too, have burnt my eyes at times. Other than that, amazing!!! My favourite skincare range by far :)
Thank you for such diligence in testing this line. If I broke out like you did after 2 days, I’d have backed out entirely. Thanks for persevering! Your skin looks wonderful. Great insight into each product. Very fair and objective POV. I use a few from the line and I’m quite impressed. Again, thanks. You and your skin = lovely!
Thank you! I think if the reaction happened sooner or continued happening I definitely would have stopped, but luckily since I had already been using most of the products with no problems I wasn’t *too* concerned lol
I want to do Kiehl’s at some point for sure, a lot of GlamGlow products irritate my skin so I don’t know if a review on them would be great since I can’t use a lot of their stuff but I’ll keep them in mind too! Lol
I've used around 15 of GlamGlow's products. I really think the stand out product is SuperMud. If you have acne - use SuperMud. The SuperSerum is also amazing for acne but it includes many acids that are beneficial for the face & neck. Skip GlamGlow cleansers..But GG peel masks are incredible. I have purchased the huge 7 piece set 3 times in the last 18 months. I swear by them because they peel perfectly every time & it includes a mixing tray, and a nifty brush !! InstaMud may be one of my favorite masks (that don't peel) by GlamGlow because it's a mask that puffs up and looks like clouds on the skin 😂 It's awesome and feels soo amazing. It's great for shrinking pores and you can feel it working (it doesn't burn or tingle) it tickles a bit though and you'll definitely laugh at how cloud-like your face is. I leave it on for an additional 2-3 minutes though. ThirstyMud is a hydrating mask that you do not wash off. It's great for dry, combo, oily and sensitive skin. I cake this stuff on at night and wake up nice and hydrated. I really think this product will be beneficial during the dry winter months (I use it most then). Hope this helps some..
The Martian toner has alcohol unfortunately and it breaks me out so badly! Id recommend pointing that out in your skin care reviews. The sulfur mask is amazing tho!
Omg I swear the ingredient list I read for it back when I got the products didn’t include SD alcohol but now I’m seeing it on Sephora?? What the heck that is so annoying 😫 thank you for pointing that out, ugh 🤦🏻♀️
I got the Martian toner in the space race kit, and I haven’t tried it despite loving the UFO oil and Saturn mask because the second ingredient is denatured alcohol 🤭 my dry, sensitive skin can’t do it. I was also disappointed to find that the main selling points of the toner (marshmallow, witch hazel and green tea) are lower than phenoxyethanol on the ingredients list. Manuka is pretty far up, though. it’s very difficult as someone with dry skin to find anything that can help with acne and stop my skin from being dry, but the UFO oil is amazing.
i'm from europe and can confirm here we have the good genes with glycolic acid. and i loooooove it. it has been revolutionary. i never used a product like this that literally smooths out texture over night. and with this formula i find it to be also the most drying product i ever used and i have oily skin and been exfoliating with ahas and bhas for years. i find that the ceo 'serum' is more like a moisturizer but i love it too. i use it almost every night and it's enough moisture for my oily skin. i like that it has a pump and most times it's the only product i bring with me when traveling. though i have to make sure to never use more than a pump for my whole face, even less of a pump actually or it is too much. if you have dry skin you'd love this. also, oddly, i can use this under my eyes and it does not cause millia and i am millia prone. i actually think since i've been using this as an eye cream i've seen a reduction in dark circles. not anything wow but defo noticeable. the luna sleeping oil was good and i still like it, but i found a stronger more effective retinol in the paula's choice 1% clinical retinol treatment - now that one was holy moly effective - but more drying. i will still use the luna once a week. i don't use retinol more than two times a week. tidal enzyme cream idk, it should be great for me but it seems to give me more texture. i think hyaluronic acid is a tricky ingredient when you live i dry climates bc it has nowhere to pull the moisture out of but your skin. i know it's not the enzymes bc i use an enzyme powder cleanser that my skin just loves. idk it also expires in 3 months after opening which is ridiculously soon. who uses a whole tub of moisturizer in three months?
The ceramic slip cleanser is my holy grail item. I’ve had both old and new formula and still is my number 1. I have oily Oily combo skin and it’s the only cleanser I can use without feeling like I need to use a wash cloth.
#1 - I’ve been using the sundaze sunscreen and it is fantastic, so glad you recommended it! #2 - I feel like this video is going to cost me some serious money 🤣
It’s a beautiful sunscreen, I’m so glad they reached out to me because it’s perfect for me! Let me know if you’re going to try anything from Sunday Riley after watching! 😉
the CEO makeup remover burned my eyes so badly even when not applied to eye area I have no idea why they haven't reformulated by now. I think the granules are supposed to be in Blue Moon since every one I purchased had it
I truly love your channel. Question; if I'm using mostly drunk elephant products but want to incorporate the luna oil, where do I use it in the routine? At night I'm using the drunk elephant night serum before moisturizer and the drunk elephant oil FYI.
I would recommend alternating nights since you would want to avoid using both the TLC Framboos and Luna in one application. So switch back and forth, or use the Luna oil a couple nights a week but leave out the DE products on those days. Hope that makes sense!
@@SariReanna makes prefect and. I'll alternate and I use the baby facial one a week. It's that enough in your opinion and for reference my skin is not sensitive at all. I truly appreciate your input and response. Forever a sub
I used Lush skincare for the year I worked there! I alternated between Herbalism and Dark Angels cleansers, Tea Tree Water Toner, Grease Lightning gel & the Vanishing Cream. And my favourite masks were Cosmetic Warrior & The Sacred Truth! I loved Lush skincare but I found it wasn’t as effective long term using only their skincare, that’s a large part of why I mix up my skincare so much now lol. If you have any questions please let me know!
i have oily, acne-prone skin! out of enzymion, vanishing cream, imperialis, and celestial, which would you recommend? (i like to use two different moisturizers for day and night. daytime more to help keep my oils at bay and nighttime a little more moisturizing but not so much my face turns into an oil slick.)
I would use Enzymion in the morning & The Vanishing Cream at night then! Enzymion is the most popular for oily skin because it contains papaya to control oil (like the Tidal cream in this video.) You might honestly like Enzymion for both day & night. I was just getting into skincare when I started working at Lush and my skin was suuuuper dehydrated and Vanishing Cream really balanced everything out & gave my skin the hydration I desperately needed but it was still super light so it sounds like what you're looking for in the evening! As my skin became more balanced I woke up less oily in the morning too.
I loved Sunday Riley’s original ceramic slip. Once they changed to this new formula it totally trashed my skin . I still use and love the ceo serum and tha ufo and glow oil and tha water enzyme moisturizer BUT ..tha new face wash is what pushed me away from her line.
I’d have to disagree on the lactic acid. I don’t need that much or need to use frequently to notice a big difference , a little goes a long way and it works amazingly well for me ! 🤷🏼♀️
You should do your next video in this series on Fresh. I'd love to hear about your skin after using just Fresh for 2 months. Plus there's so much I feel like you'd really be able to get such a good routine going!!
I’m planning to do a review on Fresh in the next month but it’s going to be more similar to my Glossier review - I’ve been using Fresh for 5+ years and I’ve used over 20 products from them so I want to save my 2 month videos for brands I’m less familiar with!
get the mini sets, they are soooooo good value for money. i will tell you this, the mini ceo lasts 3 months with daily usage and the mini luna lasts 4 months using it 4 times a week.
The time and research you put into this video (all your videos really) blows me away. You are what I come to RU-vid for. In depth, honest, very informative reviews. You are so well informed and give your audience more than just your opinion. You give the science behind something. Your knowledge and love for skin care shows. I appreciate you and your time so very much! 💜
This means so much to me Danielle, I am passionate about skincare and would probably still talk about it if no one cared but knowing my effort is appreciated & helpful really gives me the drive to make this type of content. Thank you 💖
Tata is CrayCray with her prices. I saw an eye cream that was $235.00 for .5 ounces so with that amount I better get a designer pair of glasses and sunglasses!!
you did such an amazing job on this video. everything you said was eloquently stated, and all of your disclaimers were thoughtful. thank you for putting your skin through this and sharing your valuable thoughts. this has been super helpful and you are really appreciated
I disagree. I have problem skin and have lots of hyperpigmentation and the Good Genes has been amazing on my skin. My skin is smoother and a lot more clear.
I LOVE Sunday Riley products!!! They totally changed my skin for the better🙌🏼 I’m 42, sensitive combo skin, dry patches, starting to get rosacea on my cheeks (stay away from alcohol as much as you can if you have this too), and had textured and dull skin. After using Sunday Riley products and doing nightly skin routine with gentle cleansing in the AM, my skin is now bright, glowing, clear, and radiant! Tatcha gave me a skin rash and broke me out. It was awful, and I bought the whole line unfortunately. But, we all have bioindividuality so I’ve learned to buy the travel sizes so I can try skin care before investing in a line. Happy skin caring!♥️
I am on day four of my Sunday Riley skin care routine. I switched from tatcha. My hyperpigmentation is already improving drastically. I am amazed at these products.
30 mins about skincare?! 😍 i'm so ready to hear your thoughts cause this brand looks soo enticing in stores but i'm not convinced yet to buy so I'm happy you did this!
@@SariReanna first, I love how honest you were about the products! I trust your reviews cause we have a similar skin type. So I think I'll look into getting the Saturn sulfur mask and the Luna oil, and maaaaybe the UFO oil for spot treatment in the future. Also, I didn't know that glycolic acid makes vitamin c less effective! I'm really enjoying learning from these videos Sari, great job 😊💕
Your a very pretty woman and I applaud you for taking care of your skin. I’ve seen some past videos of yours testing out Korean beauty products & testing out Tatcha. Your reviews really helped me pick out what products I wanted to try. SK II is something I’ve been wanting to try (especially their essence) and I can’t find any really good reviews on RU-vid or in English. If you could use these products for 2 months it would be amazing.
I would love to see you do a review of Origins skincare! They just have so many lines within the brand... it might be difficult! I’ve used some of their sample size items and I’ve been very impressed so far! Also, I LOVE the Luna Sleeping Oil, too!! I got that as a sample from Sephora and it’s so good! Crazy that it’s too strong for Canada! That shows you how much USA sucks and doesn’t care about its consumers!
I think Origins will likely be one of my next full brand reviews (similar to my Glossier vid) since I’ve tried so many of their products! Also I’m not 100% certain that’s the reason Luna was pulled, I was told that by someone at Sephora but I don’t know what other reason they’d have to pull it! Such a bummer though
I was literally waiting for you to review the Luna Night Oil. That was THE BEST thing I've used on my skin. I'm glad you agree! I have very dry skin and it's cool to see you love it as well!
I truly love Sunday Riley. For me I’ve seen the most dramatic results with their products. Good Genes is just amazing! (I’m not a fan of the vitamin C ceo cream though. There’s no way it could be stable is that type of packaging. Skinceutical CE Ferulic is amazing)
Yes it’s stable because it’s not the original form of vitamin c, it’s tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate which stays stable. But I think you need to divide the percentage by at least 10 to compare tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate to real vitamin c
I absolutely love most of Sunday Rileys products and agree with most of what you said. I was not impressed with the lactic acid good genes and decided to try the glycolic acid version and am so happy I did! I went from awful horomonal breakouts to hardly any acne at all in just the past month and a half. I also use Saturn, Ufo, Luna and Tidal. LOVE them all!
I love the lactic acid one myself, but I never knew they had a glycolic version im so hyped to try it .. i just ordered some A+ retinoid cream and juno oil new to me , last i got my 3rd bottle of good genes and luna oil im in love with the combo
I usually use retin-a .50%, so I was shocked her retinol serum tore my skin up. Apparently a lot of folks got the same sample I did and had the same effect. Of course, I went in and used it nightly like a fool thinking it would be fine. That said, the vitamin C+Tumeric CEO oil is *AMAZING*! I've never had a product change my skin for the better so quickly, and have purchased it for several people. Must try the DE baby skin! Sounds great.
Do you have plans to do this style review with Origins? Or is their too many products? If you did decide to do this for Origins, would you stick to one of their lines or mix and match?
Girl I seriously wish I could sit here and pick your brain. Idk...imma type it. Maybe you’ll see if but if not maybe someone else can give me some advice. Over the last few years I have fallen in love with skincare....but im still looking the THE regimen ya know? I have DRY.....like extremely dry skin..and some Rosacea. At this point my skin isnt..tooo bad...maybe a zit here and a zit there....but my biggest problem area is the chin....its blackhead city! They’re awful...and because my skin is so sensitive everything scars...which makes things look worse. Right now my routine is...Tatcha oil cleanser and rice polish. (Sometimes ill also use Kate Somerville exfolikate cleanser)Then i apply my eye cream (sephora brand brightener) Next comes Clinique Dramatically different lotion and after that I use Tatcha Dewy Skin moisturizer. On the extra side of days Ill use my Tatcha Radiance Mask and their brightening serum...(Which I feel my skin might have a problem with the serum? My skin will start to create random spots of like shiny/red/creepy looking skin. They almost look dry...but...agh! idk!! Too many questions and so little answers! Sorry for the novel. Lol no one will probably read it anyway! Love your channel, girl!!
Thank you for your reviews. After I turned 30 my skin changed so much! What used to be my holy grails became a burden. I have been watching all your reviews on skin care and thank you, its given me a great guide line. I just started Herbivore... we will see what happens.
I’ve tried Pixi skincare here and there, Pacifica isn’t super easy to find here I don’t think? So I don’t have much experience with them. Keeping both in mind though! ☺️
I did try the drunk elephant one. I guess my breakout weren't as bad for the stronger punch of the drunk elephant. I do prefer the good genes if you don't have that intense breakouts.
Glycolic acid and vitamin C work well in C.E.O., and it is not true that these two ingredients are always ineffective when used together. The combination might be too harsh for people with sensitive skin, but I do have one and it works great for me. These ingredients can maintain each others efficacy if they are in similar acidic pH ranges. Vitamin C can also be used with other hydroxy acids.
You look great & luv the brows makeup down perfect.....I use Cerave Salicylic Acid Face Wash didnt burn eyes I use a tiny bit mix w/lil water & rub all over race leave on for few minutes rinses nice not full bubbles ..great vid
UFO was a game-changer for my seborrhea! It dramatically helped calm flare-ups and I believe reduced the amount of flare-ups. I rarely have issues now and I have been using it for a year when I start to feel the tingle/flare happening. I tried everything for seborrhea--even prescriptions--and this was the only product that worked for me. I love Saturn as well--I use it as a spot treatment. I love the smell of both products, but my boyfriend calls them the "Hades Treatment"--lol.
So refreshing to find such an informed and honest review. I am so impressed had to subscribe straight away and am settling in to watch a lot more of your videos. Would love to see you review the pixie range (I am based in Europe so not sure if it’s available in Canada). Great review! I will definitely try Luna thanks to you and totally agree with being underwhelmed by Good Genes. ❤️
I haven’t! I’ve tried a decent handful of their products though & really like the brand. I enjoy the treatment enzyme peel especially, their moisture bound eye cream, the hydration mist. Lots of lovely products!
