A casa sua a Milano ho trovato un uomo gentilissimo, semplice, fragile , di classe.....Era il 2000... era vecchio ma bello, alto. Amava il canto. Mi ha ringraziato per la prima audizione! Chi ? CORELLI !!! Uomo raro. Sono felice di aver potuto stringergli la mano e ringraziarlo di tutto.... e per tutti. Artista storico, immenso.
Un altro livello. Il Prologo di Tito Gobbi perfettamente interpretata quelle meravigliose parole che introducono in maniera geniale un'opera che lo è altrettanto.
Franco Corelli e Tito Gobbi insieme.....sono felice di aver trovato questo gioiello e ringrazio l' autore di questo immenso regalo!!Su You Tube si possono trovare delle perle rare!!Due artisti immensi e ineguagluabili....due voci stupende e due interpreti eccezionali per questa bellissima opera!!Quanta bellezza e quanto genio in questa splendida gemma!!
Con You Tube ho potuto vedere e ascoltare tanti Pagliacci, devo dire che questo film per me è la migliore rappresentazione. Adoro Corelli , mi piace Gobbi quindi grazie di cuore

There is only one thing wrong with that Canio... the man was simply too handsome to make him absolutely believable in the role of that unhappy, tragic character of a betrayed husband. They should have given him a scar or something to make him look more sinister. The singing and acting was great though😊😊😊😊😊😊
The Silvio is weak vocally, but a good actor. Everybody else is terrific, especially Corelli and Gobbi. I'd never heard of the soprano, but she's excellent, as is the Beppe. This film is a treasure.
Incredible! They certainly spared no expense with the all-star cast, live animals... and a midget! Sadly, one can hear better quality voices coming from the chorus than what we hear from the principal singers at the MET these days!
Una grande interpretazione ! Corelli svecchiava molto il personaggio dalle giggionate che di solito i tenori dell'epoca facevano pensando ormai che fossero connaturate al personaggio eppure salti d'ottava così limpidi e sicuri come i Suoi erano una rarità già allora ! oggi é fantascienza anche solo pensarlo.. Gobbi dimostra ancora una volta di essere più attore che cantante (anche se il cantante é favoloso comunque) il poter vedere e non solo ascoltare questo grandissimo baritono é un privilegio! Con un occhiata un piccolo gesto o un sussurro ti fa capire tutto! La Micheluzzi anche se la considero inferiore ai primi due ha una buona voce e sa stare davanti una telecamera la tecnica di emissione é di ottima scuola e ci regala una Nedda magari non personalissima e senza particolari voli di interpretazioni o fuochi d'artificio vocali ma nel complesso una resa dignitosa senza cadute di gusto! Ottima la regia e ottimo il suono dell'orchestra. Da una neonata televisione non si poteva chiedere di più! Oggi con mezzi tecnici e possibilità economiche ben diverse non si riesce a fare granchè! Manca la materia prima cantanti e registi di questo livello!
When I was in my early teens I heard Gobbi, still in his prime, at the RFH/London and the memory remains with me to this day, I was awe struck by his voice and presence.
Absolutely love finding these vintage broadcasts preserved somewhere and it gives RU-vid a noble purpose, which it sorely needs. Corelli, his day's Domingo, is wonderful. This is a real treat, thanks for sharing it with us.
Una interpretazione d antologia, Corelli è STELLARE e Gobbi un grandissimo cantante attore... buona anche la Micheluzzi... dubito che vedremo simili livelli di interpretazione attualmente... la voce di Corelli poi è ormai un mito .... Il suo "no Pagliaccio non son " è il migliore della storia del disco... esiste in yt la sola aria di questa rappresentazione e l'incisione sembra vagamente più ripulita...

Hanno tentato invano di invecchiare ed imbruttire il bellissimo Franco Corelli....un'impresa impossibile!!Corelli interpreta questo ruolo con una passione ed un verismo da brividi!!Quanto era grande ed eccezionale il magnifico Franco Corelli.....una voce divina ed una vis drammatica degna di un grande attore!
Gobbi è strepitoso come sempre...Corelli è altrettanto grande con un velo malinconico che mai lo lascia...gli altri interpreti sono di routine...grazie
Il Film girato a Montalto Uffugo (CS) ha visto come comparse mia zia e mia nonna di Rende (CS) allora paesino con una discreta cultura e paese limitrofo a Montalto Uffugo. Veramente interessante perchè racconta una storia veramente accaduta e che ha suscitato scalpore in tutta la regione.
Gracias por subir esta joya. Gran canto y actuaciones como ya no se ven. Corelli es un portento, un inmenso cantante; Gobbi y Mafalda grandes cantantes y actores; nadie desentona. Un verdadero placer.
And the worst is the director - he makes the poor (not vocally - close your eyes and she's fine) soprano pull terrible faces, and gets Corelli to do a dreadful pratfall right after "vesti la giubba". Gobbi seems to survive by playing a part you can only ham up. And stunning delivery of the score. Corelli sounds tired or maybe bored: I'm not sure it's really his thing (OK, if he sang it twice a week for 30 years then I'm wrong - I'm only going by what he sounds like). He does the shouting fine (as usual) but doesn't seem to have his sparkle and brightness. Maybe I'm over-thinking this. Anyway, it's nice to have it available. Edit: to be clear, it's fine (almost obligatory) in the "play within a play" bit. But that's why you don't get the poor girl to gurn in the other bits.
Somebody heard Gobbi live?he sang when Warren, McNeil, Protti, Guelfi sang. But on record I can only wait, when he'll stop singin. He should be a great actor and good singer in tose times..
The prize goes doubtless to baritone/actor Lino Puglisi, the best and absolutely convincing interpreter ever of the very passionale Silvio, besides singing very well. There is on RU-vid a recital of Lino Puglisi later in his career, but with his voice and singing astonishingly unimpaired, worth seeing indeed.

El minuto 51:31 me dejó triste, Beppe hacia todo lo posible para animar a Nedda, Canio y Tonio pero no lo logro, recibiendo una gran negativa de Tonio. Una obra que sinceramente si me hizo llorar
