A genius who had time to do so much❣The frantic pace of life and rehearsals, total dedication❣Dear Janja, thank you so much for this fascinating documentary! 💝Works heard in the movie: 1. Serenade of Don Juan 2. Bizet. Oh, if I could express in sound (Romance) 4. Auber. Fra-Diavolo 5. N. Dallo Joio. Always still 6. Grieg. Hidden love 7. Grieg. I love thee / Ich liebe dich (in Swedish)
@@Herur22 Sorry for an accidental typo, the author of the lyrics Hans Christian Andersen, everyone's favorite storyteller, and the romance "Jeg elsker dig" ("Ich liebe dich") Nikolai Gedda sings in the original language - Danish. 55:23
This must be the voice of a very young Gedda!! I couldn’t recognize him at first hearing Took me a few attentive listenings This is the first song in English I’ve heard from him and I’m very much impressed with his clean diction, already knowing his linguistic repertoire. Thank you so much for this gem!
Fantastique.
I grew up listening to the dulcet tones of this uniquely talented marvel, and hearing his sensitive and intelligent singing will never fail to move me. Thank you very much for sharing this touching recording.
There are many talented and brilliant opera singers. Which one best presents the Emotions the Composer put in the music? Calls still seems unique-and above vocal brilliance.

This is a great fit for him, and the high Db and F are very impressive in different ways. But he is singing so so bright. Also, I can’t say that he isn’t singing legato, but he’s doing something that makes things sometimes rather note-by-note. I can’t quite put my finger on it. That aspect reminds me of his (effortful) Amor ti vieta. Overall, I think the live recording of this with Muti is better.
