If they were local, I would have hunkered down and swapped some stories ... (I'm biased though, as I'm from Montana) Love conversing with the older generation, they show us how much we have lost on the "being friendly" department ...
I LOVE it in DLST but agree keep it. Nice to have light later in the day when work is over for after work walks. In "standard" time it's still pretty dark when I leave and dark when I come back. Leaving it in DLST there's at least an hour of light for the evening for walks or even a outside dinner if not too cold.
What a lovely spot! It was nice of you to share with those people. I wonder if it was 'their' spot or something. What fun to see Sadie in the water - she's clearly happy there; but in the rig, you may have a problem. As she gets to be a teen, she may demand to drive. I think I saw her considering if she could convince you.... LOL. She is such a lovely companion. My maternal grandparents lived up that way and I think mom was born in the area, so one year I moseyed around just to see it because I hadn't been since childhood. So you showed us a different part and that made me feel as though I'd been there. Happy Sunday.
I just want to say the pic you have is so cute...I had a friend how I miss at times so much...She looked so much like your pic...always smiling...Can't wait to see her in heaven....Her name is Phyllis and she was in her 80's when God took her home....Thanks for listening to me
@@lyndae.2055 Thank you for the kind comments. Its a painting an Irish artist made after an English friend added the hat. Internet friends can be a real joy. I'm sorry for the death of your friend & hope your heart is full of lovely memories.
@@blakesleyk.7166 I think Carolyn attracts a nice audience because she spreads kindness which brings out the best in her viewers. Great screen name by the way.
Good idea and you can get cheap ones at dollar type stores and walmart types. Even paper ones- then it's cues people. They must have thought she was just parked near there and not planning to stay. People who haven';t been camping in years don't always know leaving things like chairs out is sadly an invitation to steal them as thieves think.
So fantastic to see you and Sadie!!! I've been out of the loop, so I'm trying to catch up on your videos. Wow, Montana is just gorgeous. Someone told me that the Upper Peninsula in Michigan is really beautiful. Lots of beautiful places in this country. That couple eating their lunch!!!! We can all be somewhat obtuse at times!!! Thanks for another fantastic video. You look fabulous. 💕💕💕🙏☀️🐕
Funny about the old couple. If they appeared harmless I probably would have sat down for a chat and then written them into a short story. Especially if they got annoyed with me interrupting their lunch in MY camping spot. LOL! Thanks for reminding me why I'm not a vegan. I can't even pronounce half that stuff, let alone identify it. :P
I'm just going to go ahead and comment even though I'm late to the party and you'll most likely not see it. I ♥️ this video. I really enjoy when you take us along on your drive. The night shot with the tv playing lightly in the background was incredibly peaceful and cinematic. And you seem...joyous in this video. Very good spirits, which is so great to see.
Looks like your feeling more yourself! So good to see. Wow Sadie girl has become such a majestic pup. She has this wild women hunter look bout her. Stay well and stay happy....oh shoot, just realized maybe this was filmed before the valley fever took hold?
HAPPY to hear from you.... Coming from east of ATL n weather starting to feel like spring... Itching to get in the garden.... Thanks for wonderful tours....
$3.50 for a load of laundry! I guess the price has gone way up since I was in college. That's the last time I remember doing laundry in a laundromat. I keep thousand island dressing for when I make Reubens. You season your tempeh like corned beef or pastrami (they make the seasoning) and with some sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing on rye bread (with caraway seeds), you're good to go! Yum!
You are an amazing, independent, powerful woman. Sinking in what it takes to make and implement choices and nothing ever easy in life but you did it and you're doing it as I'm sure you always have. I'm obsessing lately about Montana and so happy to hear you'll post another video tonight. I hope you're continuing to feel good in body, mind and spirit. ❤️ Kisses and hugs to Sadie girl.
OMG..... I was born in Butte, went to high school in Bozeman, moved to Missoula raised my family. 20 + years now in Washington State. Love where your going fall is the best. September the elk are bugling so majestic.
Love it when you throw in history!!! I definitely want to start spending my winters in the south also! I am in the far North Country - UP of Michigan. &4 years old and long for the warmth and sun.... I am practicing doing sponge baths, eating super simply, I don't have to worry about not having TV - I haven't had it for over 45 years! You are so sweet to just let the luncheon folks use your camp spot. Haha, the only time I have ever had a problem with campsites is when they have been paid! Never in a free or boondocking campsite!
Thanks u my friend your such a sweetie glad you let the old people. Have there dinner your to cool love my Sadie girl to of course I no you no we all claim her
Thanks for taking us thru Montana again. The views in the second video were beautiful & all for you & Sadie to enjoy on your own. I love the sweat shirt with the stars on it. I'm a star gazer....all my life. I always tell people I'm a mountain, rivers, forest, streams person. That is who I am & I love curry. I can tell you are feeling much better. Glad to see that. See you next time ⭐⭐⭐
Having a couple using your picnic table unexpectedly is better than what happened to me outside the NE entrance to Yellowstone a few years back, had a site paid for 2 nights at a national forest campground (Crazy Creek), then went to Cody for the day. Came back and the campsite entrance was padlocked closed, no one around to unlock. Had to scramble for a new site
Mallard's Rest! is practically my back yard. I live along the river just 1/2 mile upstream from Mallard's Rest and it's one of our favorite spots for a quick lunch. Paradise Valley is one of the best places in the Country, however we are being over-run with Covid-birds buying up all the housing and driving the prices upwards of 150% in a year. Still it's one of my favorite places. I work in Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone. Been coming here and then living here since 1996.
I just found your channel today and totally enjoyed it! The information was great. Loved the trip and your food prep even👌😃 looking forward to seeing some more of your adventures! Wonderful that you share🙌🙌🙌
Great video Carolyn! Great camping spot too. I love Tempeh (vegetarian)... I just slice it up throw it in the cast iron skillet and brown it then I put barbecue sauce or sweet and sour sauce on top and stir it and it is excellent! Looking forward to tonight's video! 👍👍👍👍👍😁
“Campground etiquette” is often ignored in my experience. The first time I visited Yellowstone I secured a site at Lewis lake early in the day for my truck camper. Picked out a great spot, paid my fee, posted the receipt in the correct place, gathered firewood, laid a fire, left a few pieces of gear, then went for a drive for a few hours. When I returned, a family was happily enjoying my fire, having neatly stacked my gear in an inferior site nearby and moved my receipt as well. It was really, really hard not to make a complete a$$ of myself. I suppose that had I not been euphoric over being in Yellowstone I would have made a huge deal out of it. I mentioned it, expressing my hope that they were enjoying MY site and MY firewood. Like shooting rubber bullets at a tank. I was only staying one night, but it was a well learned lesson. While your incursion was not at all good, it could have been much worse! I decided it was best to leave it up to karma. Hopefully some of the GOOD things that have happened to me in the interim were sent to help balance. 😆
Beautiful scenery. So much beauty in our National parks and lands. It was nice of you to let them finish their lunch. How odd that they just decided to make themselves at home in your campsite. I'm looking forward to more of videos today. Yes, daylight savings time is outdated and needs to go. One reason that I liked living in Arizona so much. They never messed with the clock and that made life so much easier. Kisses and hugs to Sadie girl. Seeing her always makes me smile. So much intelligence in her eyes. Love her. God bless, take care and stay kind.
I'm thinking they prob just though she parked there and wasn't staying. In the olden days you could leave your stuff out safely. and it was a good cue the spot was occupied.
I absolutely love that Daiya brand of chick pea “cheese”! The melting properties are amazing and taste is fabulous (esp Monterey Jack) and the feeling after eating it is the best for me!
As you know, I am a carnivore but dang girl you can cook! I’ve had people come in my campground like that and try to set up for the day! Uh no. Lol. Nice spots. Thx for sharing.
I enjoyed both videos and thought that there was some spectacular scenery. It was lovely seeing the wild life that you encountered! Sadie is a delight and so well behaved!
Tempeh is yummy! I love it chopped fine, spiced with chili powder, cumin, and fried with chopped onion and garlic as a taco filling with faux cheese and lettuce, or shredded cabbage. Delish!
#226 Good morning, Carolyn. When choosing a camp site, someone needs to be in attendance at all times. Leaving it unattended only invites problems, theft, MDOP, etc...
I get feeling infringed upon at your site, but glad you were a good sport about it. With all the turmoil and hate in this world, a little kindness to an elderly couple who were just there to eat their sandwiches, was the right thing to do. Sure you could have had the satisfaction of kicking them out of your spot but you are a nicer human being for sharing the earth and your little spot of beauty with a pair of old birds. A little grace and forgiveness goes a long way. If the world had more aloha spirit, we would live more harmoniously, and isn't that just what we want? Travelers just want to be accepted or feel welcome when they are someplace new, while others might see them as strangers to their home areas, so we should extend the same courtesy, as long as there is no mal intent or present danger.
Hello, welcome to Montana again! I live in Missoula and this video popped up in my recommendations yeah. I want to do what you are doing so bad. It is my dream. I have the RV and it has literally only been to town to empty the holding tank. It's been parked in our best friends driveway for over a year with us living in it. I can not seem to get my husband to really want to bust loose. Someday hopefully. You are really cool and I adore Sadie. Happy trails Carolyn, stay safe! And thank you for bringing us with you.😁♥️👍🙂🐕
Good idea for the tempeh wrap!! One of my new fave ways for tempeh is maple mustard tempeh. I marinate chunks or big size rectangles in mustard, maple syrup, soy sauce, smoked paprika, salt and pep and bake them. Yum!
