actually , this kind of workflow is extensively used by professional composers as our voice is the greatest instruments and it can express impossible variations . this workflow is fast , and we do succeeds in capturing our ideas before they fades away like in when done with vsts etc.

This tip was already free because that is on the Timberlands master class ad that plays non stop on here. On that ad he makes a beat with his mouth. Nothing good is free.

You hit it on target. To help you understand why you get a feel for a beat is based on nature. Go outside listen to your surroundings and see how you can use it for the beat. Like birds, frogs, people clapping even artificial sounds like a bell. You are the creator everything is for you to use. Just focus. Life is music. Literally. One of many paradigms.

The beat turned out great 👌🏾👍🏾🔥. Will like to point out that a significance for panning the same track left and right, usually comes from a mono track. Using stereo tracks in such a way can come with some extra processing, to make sure that both versions occupy their own frequencies

I wished you had kept most of the raw voice recordings, that whole thing you did with just the voice sounding like a beat was more appealing than the after where the piano starts to come in the picture and stuff. The rarity of the sound just flew away I feel, the true gold of the beat.

This is how I make my beats and I thought I was a little weird for it, but I see this is how you get out your ideas and make some fire. Nice vid. For doubling track and panning you're only making it louder really when both tracks are exactly the same. To have full effect both sounds must be different/altered. Like different EQ (left: less hi end, more low end and vice versa for right channel - just an example). Other method is to shift one channel by few milliseconds (11 or 17ms is standard) but it may lead to 'chorus effect' (pseudo-stereo, Haas effect). Try it and you'll hear how much spacious the sound will become :)

You're absolutely right about the master class. I loved it especially since I've been a fan of his for over 20 years and it's was just a great opportunity to see how he works and really to see that a lot of the same steps he takes when beat making I do as well so it gives a bit more reassurance that without any formal training or formal education that I'm not far off. That beat turned out so dope god damn! In my audio engineering class i had learnt that panning the same sound to the left and right doesn't actually make the sound wider, it creates a phasing "double mono" affect which people get mistaken by. You need to create a difference in each sound to make it actually wider. For example, if you have a hi-hat track duplicated and each panned to either side, if one hi hat is pitched down a semitone it creates a difference in each sound which would cause widening because the frequencies will be slightly different. Same thing goes with vocals and panning different takes beside the same single take. My bad for the long comment I just wanted to spread some knowledge! love seeing the growth on your channel.

Ocean no worries dude! And i don’t doubt they pan sounds! Panning your different sounds adds width but I’m just talking about duplicating the same sound and panning each one to opposite sides essentially doesn’t do anything ahah. At least from what I’ve learnt 🙈

Creativity is key, what these guys dont tell you is they steal or get ideas from upcoming producers and songwriters. Tim is also a dj before a producer so having the idea of mass reactions play a part. Keep the creativity fresh, bounce ideas off people, sounds as well. Ironically familiar sounds register faster to the listener making them more addictive. I saw those ads as well but Timbaland had a similar thing going with open labs when they dropped the DAWs lol. Looks like they're just rebranding it to me. Keep grinding tho fammo

by the way those stereo splits need to have slightly different values if youre using the same recording. that will give you a greater depth of field. having them the same is not doing anything just making it louder.

Panning your sounds (V-shape) works best when there are slight differences in the sounds. Panning the same exact sounds does almost nuffin to the stereo image. If you want a wider, thicker, more binaural stereo feel you can try to detune or slightly delay one side or the other.

Good going on the beat... Just one thing tho; theoretically and its also just your brains perception of audio; if you take two of the same signals, pan left 30% and pan right 30%, you are in essence cancelling out those signals because “you hear” them equally. I tend to do the same but add slight alterations EQ or HPF on one channel and LPF on the other... however u wana play with it and make it sound good.

Your right it is our own idea of what the brain think is sound. Look into Classical composer and pianist Mozart. A Deaf people can make a sick beat. Music is a perception of how you feel it's an extension of you. That's why if you're happy the sound is giving a certain feel. Jus like if you're mad.
