This year, I have thoroughly enjoyed playing a mixed force of Lothlorien and Rivendell Elves from Games Workshop's Warhammer Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game (MESBG).
This is the first part of the story of how I painted this force. I went to the Isle of Skye and Lewis and Harris in the Hebrides. I wanted to find wildlife including Otters, Seals, Deer and Gold Eagles whilst finishing my army including Elrond, Haldir, Rumil and others.

Having recently moved to Scotland from England, I can't agree more that Scottish landscapes are absolutely magical - the perfect place for painting MESBG!

I moved to Edinburgh about a year and a half ago, and try to get into the Highlands as much as possible. If you go back to Skye, I would highly recommend the ferry via Mallaig. Plenty of white sand beaches and wildlife around there :)

Haha. I actually gave up on it for the warriors but I regret it. I think I'll go back and add that step because it does add a bit of life to the cloaks.
