Today I am applying for an apartment and its a bit stressful. I'm starting to online shop for home decor at Amazon and I also headed into Target to get an idea of things to furnish and decorate my new apartment with! I also started baking. Its a goal of mine for 2024! So I baked a pie. I'm also back with some cleaning motivation. Fingers crossed everything sorts out asap! I'm sure it will all fall into place perfectly, but I hate that part of getting a place too. I'm in the process of finding a place too. I'm freelance too and it's hard to be accepted unless I pay months in advance or have a guarantor and these days I have none!

My Uggs are great slippers. Perhaps too predictable of a choice. I also have a really nice pair with shearling-type lining from Roots. I purchased them at a store in the GTA when you head there.

Welcome to the USA!!! If you buy Target stuff, try the Casaluna brand for bedding. They're so comfy!!! Threshold is pretty good too but the bedding with that brand isn't as nice in my opinion. I'm also the person who's spent entirely too much at Target so...don't judge lol!

Try going to the local library and asking for help. They sometimes have people that can help point you in the right direction to get paperwork and documents that you need.

Hi Rachael. Since you love Catan so much, you probably know about the expansion packs. The Cities and Knights add-on is great & adds several new mechanics and twists to the game, changing the core gameplay in interesting ways. I hope you get news soon. Its always such a process when you move. When I moved from Toronto to LA, my employer handled everything. I can’t imagine doing it myself! So kudos to you 🎉 pretty soon, things will be in place 😊

So glad to see you're starting to get set up there and and I'm enjoying seeing the sites along with you! Curious to know what the rental market is like there? Is it competitive? Still such high demand for rentals properties in Melbourne, and you can get 30-40 people at property inspections. Good luck with your application 😃🌷💖

Its not competitive at all. Theres hundreds of apartments available in a few block radius, lots of new builds which is nice. Makes it a little less stressful when going through the process. Thank you 💖💖

Hi Rachel, I have an Amazon slipper 🥿 recommendation but it won't let me post the link or even the name? Look for some with bottoms that are more like shoes so they don't go flat; mine are from the brand COFACE and they're fluffy on top but rubber on the bottom 🩵

I go through slippers insanely fast… I also need to wear insoles in most of them because of my plantar fasciitis so when they go flat they hurt like hell. If you find a good cushiony one that lasts, let us know!

Hello Rachel! I'm not trying to be an alarmist, but when you get your social security card you might want to get a safety deposit box at your bank. My husband and I were burgled 10 years back. Our cards were in a home safe along with our marriage license, house deed, car deeds, birth certificates in there and they carried it right out of our house in broad daylight. We thought it was too heavy to carry out. We were naive coming from a smaller city. Forgive me if I'm over stepping. I just wouldn't want you to have to go through it. Hope you get your apartment soon. Sending you my best wishes and a hug. 🤗💐💕

If you haven't bought your hangers yet costco had the felt hangers in packs of 50 for less than $20 ( or it was when I got them) for the future if you need more!

I’m surprised the rental market is so soft, finding an apartment in NYC or LA is like an episode of The Hunger Games - it’s so hard to secure an apartment, you pretty much have to have the application filled in and lodge it in the spot and even then chances are slim. Start building credit score now - get a US credit card to help (assuming your good at managing cc debt and paying the balance in full each month)

You didn’t need the sugar because you used condensed instead of evaporated milk as the recipe calls for. Would have been gross if there was no sugar and just evaporated milk so I guess it was a good mix up!

I've come to learn the only way you'll win in regular catan is development cards. You'll need to get longest road or strongest army to win. Maybe by chance you can win without them but I feel thats the only way. Also hold off getting points early if you can. People will attack you. Let them attack someone else and come in near the end and start getting all the points 🩷🩷

Theres a few reasons. Its too small. It looks big but theres no storage, he can't even fit all his belongings into the cupboards, theres no room for my stuff. The other reason is I want to live alone for a little longer to settle into my new DC life with a bit more independence, we'll move in together eventually
