Not sure that’s ever going to happen, probably some mess with licensing as X-Men were Marvel’s IP, but Sony and Fox shared the rights at some point if I’m not mistaken. Not sure who owns the license of the game, it might be something weird like Activision
I absolutely loved this game when it came out. Traded it eventually, then in 2011 rebought it for ps3 and for 13 years left it alone because I hated that I couldn't check which dogtags I needed. About a month ago, I finally went back and followed a guide, then finished a Hard mode run (I wanted to end with that trophy) and finally platinum'd this. Love this game, hated the final boss on Hard mode lol
@MayorHairBear Haha, fair enough. Sometimes I have to rewind stuff when I'm watching a video, show or movie, or record my session when I'm playing a game, in case I wasn't sure I caught some sort of easter egg or reference.

@MayorHairBear Same here. Assuming it's set in the past, I'm hoping we maybe get some nods to Peter's parents, since he mentions them being spies. Which could be a good way to set up a future Wolverine/Spider-Man crossover.

There’s a lot wrong with this game but there are fun moments. You really do feel like Wolverine. And your physical appearance getting changed the more damage you take is a nice touch
It's annoying when games force you to unlock the hardest difficulty but don't let you keep you earned stats, moves, etc... Let me select hard from the start or give me a new game plus on hard mode
Soulstice did that well. Game in the same genre as DMC, Bayonetta, Darksiders-- in terms of tone and production values it seems quite close to Darksiders too. Came out in 2022. It's got a chapter/level select structure, but collected currency and unlocked moves are always there. Not just between replays of chapters but on higher difficulties as well. In other words: You can replay an earlier level to grind a bit of money, but also immediately replay with everything you have gathered and unlocked from your previous playthrough. Regardless of the difficulty you have chosen. The only big limit is that the Harder and Hardest difficulties have to be unlocked by first playing the preceding difficulty option. Oh, and you can get full currency refunds for your ghost companion's skills. If you don't jive with one of her skills, or want to try out something different until you've got enough currency again, get your money back and invest it in the skill that has your fancy more. Game's got issues with pacing, a few of the enemy types and some are not fond of a central mechanic either, but I very much loved it.
@@jurtheorc8117 Soulstice was great. In this genre it's usual to keep everything between playthroughs and that's good. DMC, Bayo, etc... That's why it's so annoying that Wolverine doesn't. Why should I grind hours for my power ups if it's gone next playthrough.
@@Mick2K Sweet to see someone that also knows of Soulstice and had a good time with it! Where it concerns this genre, I started out with the Darksiders series, which isn't as straightforward in its replayability as the others. Quite a different structure. Wolverine seems more... Arcade-like in its structure, like said other games. In the sense that it's largely committed to a single type of gameplay that you can quickly pick up, play. From that point of view i can better understand the frustration.
For my favourite tie in it would be a tie between this one and the captain America one that was basically a linear Arkham game with a cap paint on it. Short, fun, easy plat and good combat.
Bone Claws! Great video. I did this one a couple years ago, was lucky to snag a copy from a used game store before it blew up in price. Love the game, but hard was a slog, I was just ready to be done after a full playthrough with collectibles and a couple of the bosses were just cheap. I hope the upcoming Insomniac Wolverine is even better!

*snick* Boneclaws! This is one of the best movie licensed games ever made and the best Wolverine game period. But if I had to pick the best overall movie licensed game, definitely The Warriors hands down.
Bone Claws! I think the OG spider man 2 would get my vote for favorite movie tie in video game. Haven’t played it since though, so if it’s pretty rough now, just know nostalgia is carrying that one for me 😂

This was actually my 3rd ever Platinum Trophy that I’ve earned. I have 180 now). Honestly thought this was a really fun game for what it is, especially considering it’s a movie game. I do remember this game crashing on me at least 5 times oddly enough. Most of them happened on the snow level too.
Bought this game when it was 40 dollars on the shelf and Ryan Renalds announced with Hugh about Deadpool and Wolverine 2 years ago cause I knew this game was gonna skyrocket in price cause of its success, right now the highest it’s being sold is 180, but yea don’t plan to sell it
I feel that with collectibles. Not having tracked collectibles or having missable collectibles can be a real pain. I had to use a guide for the gwent cards in The Witcher 3.
Yeah the collectibles not tracking is a real pain, I honestly got lucky it didn't take to long to track down the missing one here because it could've been awful!
@@MayorHairBearYeah it’s always annoying finding out you missed one collectible in story mode or in a region of the game and you have to go back for it. Happened to me in Assassin’s Creed 2007 when I missed 1 flag in the Kingdom region. Missable collectibles are still probably the worst collectibles.
See I didn't have too much grief with the final fight on hard, outside of the one shot attacks I just abused the uppercut and counter combo and took him down relatively quickly!
They had the perfect difficulty balance in this game while having you still feel like wolverine. So many games now are either boring cakewalks or they weaken the character too much because they can't tell what characters should be left as is and wanna make the game harder in the wrong ways.
@@MayorHairBearLots of games back in the early 2000s were great. I like how the game was an original story and explained Nightcrawler’s absence from The Last Stand even when it’s not cannon.
I really enjoyed this when it came out. The film I have mixed feelings on (it does have some qualities to it, but yeah, it's a pile of errors) but at least we got a good game from it. The cake is a Portal ref, I swear the dog tags respawned if you replayed the levels, the final boss especially on hard is a total pain in the ass, but I still think this game was and still is a very good example of gaming done right (mostly). The devs admitted that part of the reason the game is so good is because they misunderstood the release date and finished it a year early, and then spent the extra time making the game better. Mostly, because as you pointed out it still has some glaring issues. I recall I'm missing an enemy variant (one of the WENDIGOs, somehow) as one of my only incomplete challenges, but other than that, yeah, I chased down the 100% completion (my copy was Xbox 360). Looking forward to your Deadpool coverage (I did not enjoy that game, especially the last level which caused me to quit, it was so frustrating).

I just don’t get it. Origins the movie was so great to me as a kid and even when I re watch as an adult . To go back and look at the rotten tomatoes score and generally others opinions it is mind blowing to me when people say it was a bad movie lol
we're in 2024 and this game is still a great gem it perfectly captured the animal side of wolverine something that the movies failled but i think the movies humanized wolverine well , let's have a word on the movie i always have a good time watching this movie even thought it's far from a masterpiece the casting and the sountracks were great but , the violence, the CGI and deadpool was a joke and there's a big inaccuratie : he leave at the end of the movie without his jacket so how did he get it in x-men 1 the timeline of this franchise as some problems why dosen't saberthoot reconize his brother in x-men 1 ? well i loved the deadpool fight in the game and the sentinel boss fight is my favorite and the robot is still creeping me out the final qte was hard especialy on ps3 cause the buttons are smaller and i have the game on these two consoles and i tell you know, the new wolverine game won't beat this one i hope the game won't ne like what i've seen because it was trash anyway thanks for bringing nostalgia with your video 👍
This game was really bad. The game's combat was too simple, after the first 2 levels it got boring and the special moves were not useful at all. There was no point using them.
Terrible take because you disagree is interesting... You can like the movie, nothing wrong with that mate but you are in the minority with that opinion so if anyone has a terrible take, I'd be looking in the mirror 😂
