Idk if anyone mentioned this, but if you shoot the guy in the back of the car behind makarov, it will say friendly fire is not tolerated. That’s because the guy in the back of the car is actually yuri from mw3
That "mission failed" after rescuing the Russian president really hit me hard. Like damn we did all that and survived a plane crash just to fall into Makarov's hands. Anyways, awesome gameplay, Im living vicariously through you because I never had the patience or skill to beat theese games on Veteran.
It was a very cool and small detail they added but really shows how makarov is always one step ahead! I 100% recommend giving these games a go, the remasters are amazing 🫡
@@Satiire great trilogy but i too despise the "enemies-infinitely-respawn-until-you-get-to-a-certain-point" system as well as that always feels like fake difficulty to me, the TV station also has infinitely respawning enemies until you get to a certain point but it's disguised somewhat better there.
I haven't seen anyone in the comments mention it, but the intel does serve a purpose, every five or ten unlocks a new cheat to use in the campaign, like cod noir or paintball mode.
You're very lucky you played the remastered MW2, on the OG one with spec ops you had to veteran all of Spec Ops. It took me three bloody months to get through it, easily one of the hardest things I've done in gaming.
I can imagine the OG MW2 being just as hard as MW3 was but I wanted to see how good the remaster was and it's amazing! I might eventually go back to OG MW2 but it would for sure be a challenge 😅
What, how? It was difficult, don't get me wrong, but me and a friend just got Star 69 in one sitting last night. I'm sure it would have been a lot harder solo, but definitely don't see myself taking 3 months to get it.
@@personnelproton I was like 11 mate, hardest thing of me life. Nowadays, I reckon I could do it in a few days if I put me mind to it. This was before I knew about the thumper trick to one shot jugs, and I was fairly new to PC
What a nostalgia trip. Quality video as always Satiire! The OG MW trilogy was the peak of CoD, with MW2 being my first ever platinum in 2009 (since CoD4 didn't have trophies), that was also harder than the remaster due to the spec ops missions etc. I also feel they nerfed veteran just a little in the remasters haha
Oh 100%! The remasters weren't as hard as MW3 but I think they're still amazing I was going to do MW2 OG but after playing MW1R, I wanted to check out how good MW2R was 🤣 Appreciate you as always for watching the video 🫡🫡
Love your videos! I’m sure someone’s already said this but I haven’t seen it so I’ll do it lol. “Whiskey Hotel” is not a building separate from the White House. It’s the code name for the White House in the phonetic alphabet.
@@Satiire yeah I know it’s an amazing story i played these games when I was really young so I didn’t understand the story but I did when I got older but I wish I didn’t play these games till I was older so I could of experience the story for the first time when I could understand it
@@boq780_2.0 yeah I literally mean like 6 I’m 21 I played mw2 when it first released I was literally 6 years old 😂 by the time bo2 came out I started to understand it then
Awesome video as expected bro. Watched all the way through and had to keep stopping myself from downloading these games myself 😂 Forgot how well MW3 stands up against the original 2 and wish they would remaster it for the PS5.
I was also pretty surprised at how well MW3 looked but I really hope they pull the remaster out at some point 🥲 Thank you for watching the entire vid man, I appreciate it as always! I highly recommend playing the remasters if you have some spare time!
Ive played every call of duty on the hardest difficulty each time, I think the MW series was the ones I enjoyed the most! but the whole holding out for 4 mins was in my opinion the hardest part!
The effort you put into these videos and the games you play is top notch. Only platinum out of these 3 games I got is COD 4. Damn spec ops in MW2 and survival in MW3 wrecked me.
Modern Warfare Remastered was the first platinum i have ever gotten on PlayStation i got it back in 2017 1/21/17 i was only 15 years old at the time and i still had one of those 1980s Sony Box TVs and i hated playing on it i didn't get a Flat Screen until Summer 2017
Awesome video as always. Something that i really like of spec ops it's that some of the missions take place in the campaign, like the one you have to rescue the president's daughter during turbulence, or the one in the submarine during the first act. Survival is a very neat mode that was unfortunately butchered in mw2019 and the mode itself doesn't hold a candle to zombies Ps: I realized you were using auto aim, that's some noob tactics over there xddd
Auto aim had to be done 😭 Zombies will always be superior but survival wasn't horrible, just not that great lmao That submarine spec ops mission is so hard, genuinely took us a few hours because of the aim botting enemies. I think spec ops is probably the hardest part of this entire trilogy to be honest, I just ran out of time to showcase it properly 😢
Remember when Cod was doing nothing but new IP's for a little while? Ghosts, AW, IW, and WW2. (BO3 being the only outlier.) I miss that. Now it's all focused on fucking Warzone so everything has to tie into each other like some Marvel movie bs.
COD is not the same and it truly sucks but I do think they'll eventually realise this. Sledgehammer seem to be the one studio actually trying new stuff and even they have gotten stuck with MW3 😭
@@Satiire it 100% was. It triggered me, nothing else compared to it in the first game. Sadly I still don't have the plats for mw2 and MW3 because of the forced co-op spec ops missions. Dx I would of had em over a decade ago if they weren't forced co-op The mile high club was kinda pain, till you learn it. Flashes are our friends xD
my biggest gripe with mw2 remaster is the ending. they botched the music drop. Hans zimmer and the devs made it so the original ending goes "dah, i know a place" and on the final letter of place the beat drops. it was hype as fuck. but for some reason the music is delayed in the remaster and ruins it. other than that it's a great remaster
@satiire for 13:00 you're supposed to rush the buildings before too many spawn and flash inside before going in. I'm commenting as I watch so sorry if you explain this later on.
Replayed this trilogy earlier this year and while I am biased towards these games since they were my first CoD game, almost everything in these ones is better than the reboot. The only decent thing about the reboot are some of the characters but most of them are badly written at times. Great video too, these games are definitely challenging to Platinum.
I think Ghost (including the new VA) is better tho. I also prefer the new Soap. Gameplay and story wise, the OG MW2 seems very hard to top honestly. I still have some hopes for the last entry in the new trilogy tho....
I just recently "got into" MW thanks to a playthrough of the MWII Reboot where I thought "Oh damn, guess I really missed out" bc I never even considered buying these games for their campaign, I thought its just all about PVP. So I happened to stumble across your video of the OGs and I can't get over how brutal MW2 is, esp. compared to the shitfest the reboot is...(I hope the third entry fixes that bc I still think MW2 reboot was good, especially looks wise.) WW3, US being nuked and the characters I grew close to just from watching the reboot, dying like flies. Man this shit really hits me hard in the feels. Also the graphics really held up, though I honestly prefer the new VAs for Price and Ghost. Either way, thanks for the great video and for doing these games justice. I'll definitely pick them up now. TL;DR: The originals were bomb, thanks for playing.
Thanks for watching!! I also have to agree, the reboot isn't as good and a lot of the story choices just kinda make no sense in my opinion. A lot of focus is on the MP side of things with Warzone being a big focus, so the campaign has taken a hit. It sucks because they went out of their way to reboot a great series and haven't done it justice at all
The best Cod trilogy we have. I remember playing spec ops with my brother all the time, and I even liked the MP quite a bit back then. It's too bad modern COD doesn't interest me anymore.
month old but i wanted to say the reason DC looked fine was because the nuke went off in orbit price gambit was basically to set off a EMP large enough to stall the russian attack on DC
Gotta say, playing these games as a young lad I never realized just how over the top and utterly ridiculous they truly were, but this is some batshit insane writing.
So uh the nuke during MW2 wasn't used to intentionally kill people it was detonated as a high altitude nuclear detonation which was caused an EMP and was why helicopters started falling and those russians were abandoning their BTR
I want too and I think I will do very soon but I need to find a game that is worth live streaming (RDR2 for example) It would allow me to pick up right where I left off but also allow everyone to follow along the entire journey too 😊
Its all fun and games till you have no one to do the OG MW2 Spec Ops missions with you so you gotta do them by yourself cuz you have no friends willing to buy a 14 year old gane to play with you
I 100% understand that and that would be really hard since they're made for 2 people. If you ever need some help, there's always people hosting boosting sessions on PSNP 🫡
Whiskey Hotel is also the military alphabet name for the White House, i dont know if in game youre actually going into the White House or just near it, been a while
@@Satiirealso, just a tad of info for you. In modern warfare 2 the nuke does not go off. Price launched it himself and detonated it in orbit to act as an EMP over Washington DC, effectively allowing the US Army to regroup and reorganize to get the upper hand in the fight. It’s largely believed in universe if he didn’t DC would’ve fallen to the Russians. You might’ve said it in the video, im sure
40:57 he let the missile go off cause he knew it would scramble russian equipment, giving the americans a chance to clutch a victory royale. sorry if you already knew and was just memeing :/
Don't worry, I love being corrected because I know I can't get everything right 🤣 I just checked as well and it seems we are both right? It was a nuke but it also set off an EMP on impact
@@Satiire Actual nukes do actually do that. I was probably just remembering that it goes off midair and forgot it wasn't just an EMP. (and I think someone actually yells "EMP" at some point too)
