I guess Yuan is going to have to deal with some Ming style disasters in EU5, because they look even bigger than Ming at the start of the game. Assuming this is indeed the right start date of course.

No matter if it's 1337 or 1356 it's going to be big. I guess devs will introduce some kind of decadence mechanic, so all blobs will eventually break apart

The Red Turban Rebellion started in 1351. So where Ming in EU4 has around 70 years before their disaster can start, Yuan will get theirs 14 years in with the earliest predicted start date.

i actually played with japan in this mod started in year 1 and you do get the red turban rebellion if you dont have at least 50 mandate which happens quite easily when you pass reforms so you have to deal with it by having 3 stab and 0 rebel provinces, though after it happens once it wont happen again so after getting the red turban rebellion and winning you wont have to deal with it ever again,and it can be a pain this mod as every province starts getting autonomy raised and rebels, i had to go year before the rebellion to save up admin point to deal with it.

To be honest - I'm not the biggest fan of starting date 1356, however playing Pagan Lithuania, Poland under Piast Dynasty, Hundred Years War, White Horde, Yuan etc. also could be fun. On the other side I'm afraid that events such as discovering of New World, conquest of Granada by Spaniards & Constantinople by Turks and also - last but not least - ending of Hundred Years War could be do-able even 100 years before these events actually happened in history. I think there should be implemented mechanics by the developers, which would allow to maintain historical accuracy - let's say discovering of New World happens maximum 50 years before 1492, which is historical date of this event. That's why I'm proposing 1410, the battle of Grunwald date - it's not that far from 1444, and also allows to secure the historical balance, which I mentioned earlier.

Honestly I think they should focus in multiple start dates like they did in CK2 rather than only making the 1300's or 1400's the start date. It would make playing pass the 1600's easier.

@basedimperialism
@basedimperialism 3 месяца назад
The reason people play different start dates in CK2 is because A. the focus is on the rulers, not the countries, and people in CK2 only live for around 70 years at the high end, and B. the time frame of CK2 has many different states forming and collapsing, while the EU4 time frame mostly consists of established states consolidating the map and leaving less and less potential playable states. There's just no reason to play start dates later in the game in EU4, but there are tons of reasons to play later dates in CK2.

I think having some forced events about Muscovy and Lithuania blobbing into the white horde would be good as well as keeping some of the pu events or mabye reworking mission tree to make game more historically accurate

99% golden horde will be unstable, and Muscovy will get unique events to beat it. Otherwise the game will go ahistorical quite quickly

I feel like instead of buffing the Ottomans, they should instead make them formable by all Anatolian beyliks

Doesn't make sense tbh, Ottomans are named after dynasty after all. But the idea is really good, maybe not formable, but bonuses for Anatolian beylik which conquered Anatolia and Constantinople. So Karaman or Saruhan can become the new Ottomans

@Speedster___
@Speedster___ 3 месяца назад
@@CoolBonobo there was a thread on Reddit that convinced me due to the borders in Bengal area it’s 56. The big thing is how does eu5 (assuming it is) handles autonomous territories. Are they seperate states (Timurrids/France) or internal disaster (Mali etc)
@CoolBonobo
@CoolBonobo 3 месяца назад
If you take a closer look, Bengal is still not unified. That means the game most likely happens before 1352. I'm interested in how eu5 will simulate the power structure in general, if it really starts in 1337, or even 1356, they'd need simulate transition from late feudalism to nation states. Feudalism is barely present in eu4, just some nations have a few autonomous vassals at the start.
@Speedster___
@Speedster___ 3 месяца назад
@@CoolBonobo honestly I think there’s going to be a big vassal rework somewhat like Hoi4 with different levels of autonomy and once you do X the level de/increases and once it runs it course you annex it
@darkphoenix2745
@darkphoenix2745 3 месяца назад
@@CoolBonoboTo be fair, feudalism is more about having power spread in a monarchy, having vassals is just one way to represent it. I would say the estates lands and the way you get absolutism represent feudalism better than having vassals. Although I agree with you that it will be interesting to see how they do.
