Weeelll, this video just highlight the fact that TO ME Heartstone is still the unbeatable autobattle game out there. Some of them looks cheap, some others too complex. as a TFT player who played some battlegrounds with buddies who talked me into it and reached 8k MMR I have to say I find the game too RNG reliant, even for an auto battler. The RNG isn't only in the cards you get (which is also the fun part for me, the deck/comp building), but also the hero you get to choose from (also nice P2W with getting to choose between only 2 or 4 champs if you pay), with some having a 3.80 avg placement and others a 5.2 one. This makes the power level very uneven among players from the start. Not to mention unlucky swings of your cards can be the difference between losing 10 or 25 HP. It's fun game for the short term, but definitely not the best autobattler out there.

LegionTD definitely deserves a mention. It started as a WC3 custom map over a decade ago and got a standalone version last year. You build up an army between rounds, but you can also spend gold on workers that gather a resource that lets you send additional mobs for the opponent to fight and increase your gold income permanently. Players don't fight each other directly - instead they fight increasingly stronger waves of mobs plus whatever additional mobs opponents sends. Strategy is mostly centered around the economy. Balancing how much you spend on your army vs how much you invest in workers and income, and when to send the additional mobs to cause the most damage.

Loved this. Nice work, Ben. Played 60 hrs or so of TFT last year and despite how often they keep the meta fresh, the time investment to feel like you know what you're doing is pretty large. Playing casual is definitely possible, though, if you don't let yourself get sucked into "be the best" mode. Despots definitely looks fun and I'll be reccomending Super Auto Pets to some friends that are interested in Battlegrounds but need a stepping stone.

maybe you all can help.. i search everyware for a game but i cant come by the name of it. it was an indie thats for sure. first released on pc, then on nintendo switch. ok. 1. on each floor you have to collect a key on that floor to go to the next floor. 2. battles are automatic and japanese screams. mostly grunts. 3 in a shop on a floor you can buy partymembers with the gems or the currency that you have. most of the time sometimes they are colored. 5 your party size is 4 i dont know that anymore. and at the end of each dungeon or stage you must defeat a boss. you can unlock also more dungeons or something. 6 the tutorial is easy first, you have to move down. so, thats all that i know.

Since the first time i played TFT i fell in love with the genre, but as you said, the game is difficult to master if you are more casual and dont have time to follow the actual meta, so since release i've been waiting for some PvE game mode or at least vs. bots to train first before jumping against people. Now i've been wandering around looking for a good casual Autobattler game, and i found one that's called King God Castle, easy to understand and not that hard to master, simple but fun, having both Defense and Roguelike gamemodes making it extremely adictive, but sadly, this game its only available via mobile, meaning that it will become a pay 2 win in some point, and before that happens im on my own quest to find a similar game. So if anyone knows one, i would appreciate if you share the name with me.

Ehhh for tft, once you get over a learning curve of the basics, your fundys will likely be able to carry you even if you don’t know the units at all. It’s not hard to play in lower elos, you can just click on the units with the same traits as a unit you want to use and item combinations will start to make sense.

TFT is generally higher APM because you can sell the units you buy. @@tristantzara9496 yeah I forgot to clarify that I specifically meant you can sell units for a full refund, meaning you can quickly buy and sell stuff, compared to BGs where overbuying units is heavily punished (excluding APM builds like pirates). I was master of the first season of TFT. But... Heartstone battlegrounds is far better. TFT could be better if they learn about battlegrounds. First of all, in each game you finish top 1 in battlegrounds, you never have the same board, or it's rare, very rare ; cause you have to really adapt your plays depends of what you have. In TFT, that simple, you have some strong compos and you roll to find one of the compo of the moment. That's not really a game for me. You wait for gold and then.. roll to find something. I know it's not that precisely but that's my feeling. In battlegrounds each turn is important, the first one and the last one can change everything. I feel a bit sad cause I was in love with TFT but... Some mechanics ruin the game. Battlegrounds knows what is the most important : limited gold per turn, different card type that change in every game, heroes with different power. You must adapt to be good, and I love it.

For me personally I want diversity of units and simplicity of gameplay in an Auto Battler. Which means that I want the units to decide on my success while still having means to change up my composition. Focusing on items too much makes the gameplay worse imo. The original Auto Chess and at start Dota Underlords had the right idea. TFT went a bit overboard for my taste.

@@tristantzara9496 Short and interesting question, well for one you could ctrl + mousewheel in your browser or search for "how change dpi" or, mh that could be a bit longer. So you see the physical size of your monitor ( eg 20'' or (30cm x 20cm) ) is also known to your computer. Or at least should be known. Your Computer also gets told, how big your resolution per inch/cm should be, typically expressed in dpi/dpm(dots, per inch/metre ). To be clear, these dots have nothing to do with your pixel, which are also expressed as resolution (eg 1920x1080). Good thing, there are 2 resolution on your computer: Dots is THE measurement of your letters and will be translated through your dpi-value to the actual size of your letter (inch/metre). This is done, to eg allow your monitor to be placed further away, and then set your dpi accordingly. Ok now we have a theoreticle footwork. Now lets talk about, why this doesnt work most of the times. First things first, your pc gets typically the physical size of your monitor wrong. Sometimes your pc just guesses the size of your monitor, with the pixel-resolution you have set. Sometimes it gets told a wrong size. But im not sure, where it gets the size from. It may be a knowledgebase somewhrere in the internet or your Computer. Or your monitor may say it to your pc and just give it the wrong value. Secondly the dpi cant be touched directly on most systems (most of the systems use i think 96dpi). Many times you have just a magnifier effect (some random percentage-tool) somewhere on your system. You could try to search for "how to change dpi" to find it. And this magnifier effect may or may not be working correctly. I for example couldnt make some websites for my grandma bigger, without breaking the whole representation. So i hope this is informative. It was certainly a delight to write this half of an article-abomination:P
