I don't try out as many games as I would like to. I'd like to fix that. Since I made the top 10 cozy games video, many developers sent me codes for similar games. So for one month, I played absolutely every game that was sent to me. While the quality varied, it was fun to check out some not already well known games!

Tavern Talk reminds me a LOT of a game called Strange Horticulture. Very similar mechanics, but it's a dark fantasy setting with a murder mystery plot. You're a horticulturist and people come to your shop asking for specific plants and potions, and you can either give them the correct ones or not which affects the story. You also collect more plants over time. It's really good, would recommend!

Now im curious what you mean by obscure, and I hope my native isn't it. Actually nevermind that would be cool 😅 I guess my native is obscure. I think there's like 7 million people at most that can speak it 😂 Edit: nah I looked it up only 6 millioN, thats less than the population of LA 😅

If you're looking for more cozy games, Ooblets is a lot of fun! It's pokemon like in that you collect Ooblet creatures and (dance) battle with them, you have a farm and make money from crops, and you do tasks for people in town. It's a pretty silly game but it's cute and a lot of fun

@@moorspede That 'reputation' stems from the crazed online response to their original EGS exclusivity (at the height of EGS hate). The devs certainly could have handled their exclusivity announcement better, as it came off very passive-aggressive, but saying they have a bad reputation is disingenuous. Especially considering they had death threats made against them and were harassed for months by hundreds. They don't have issues with their fans/backers.

I will continue to highly highly recommend Outer Wilds to anyone I come across. This game left a bigger impression than Red Dead 2 did and that game made me feel many emotions

I really liked this video! As far as cozy games go, I've been deep in Dave the Diver (was that a pun? I think that was a pun.) It has some battle mechanics and bosses, but nothing that I feel truly knocks it out of the cozy genre

Thank you for having something nice to say about Lake. I love cozy games and story narrative games, so Lake was perfect for me, simple gameplay that lets you connect to the people you meet and come up with fun little things as you drive around delivering things (or cats)... Yet every other person I've spoke to on it just calls it boring, a streamer I watch gave up quickly with the game... I get it that it's not action packed or massively deep, but not all game needs to be. Sadly I feel it gets massively over-looked and I wish we had more small, personal story games like this.

I think it's great that you were able to rediscover your love for games! Some of these games look really enjoyable. Thanks for doing this because it reminded me that Lake existed I played a bit of it back when Google Stadia was a thing, but didn't get to play very long before they shut down. I've really been wanting to learn Italian and Japanese and Noun Town looks fun for that 👀 Also if you're looking for some more games to play on the channel, might I recommend Potion Permit? It's one of the many Stardew-like games out there. While it's rough around the edges (despite being out for a couple years now), it's still being worked on and is a fun time

I want Tavern Talk and I appreciate noting that language learning really works best when done multiple ways. Personally for Korean, I use: passive vocabulary learning watching content from the country, duolingo for the alphabet/characters, and drops for a more direct vocabulary lesson (*on top of just practicing stuff for fun whenever I feel like it. physicallyw riting helps A LOT yall. that and consistant sleep so your memory is at top game hopefully)
