I'm so tired of fans saying Revolver ISN'T a Red Dead game (in the same universe). Not only is it literally in the title, and not only do they make numerous references to Red Harlow in the Redemption games...but you can LITERALLY visit Harlow's house in the Redemption games. IT'S THE SAME. UNIVERSE. YOU I D I O T S.
Red Dead 2 in my opinion is one of the best games ever made. It does a realism approach in its graphics yet it managed to still strike an "art style" that is beautiful and possibly timeless. It almost teleports you into a bygone era, the voice acting, atmosphere, everything. The story revolves around one of the greatest video game protagonists of all time, Arthur Morgan. Who doesn't like Arthur Morgan?? My girlfriend watched me play the game because "He's a sexy burly manly man." I thought the same thing, who can blame her? There's truly an amazing experience in RDR2, and is a perfect example of how a videogame can tell a story that is beautifully tragic.
I agree. RDR2 will stand the rest of time. It's a game that got me out of the rut of "video games suck." I hadn't played a video game in like 2 or 3 years, but two of my coworkers kept talking about how excited they were about it. I asked them about it, and gave it a try. Having never played Revolver or RDR1. But having a passing knowledge of John, due to a friend I had who was always playing Undead Nightmare when I went to his place as a kid. The whole of it caught me up. From Jump, starting in media res, and making us piece together things was a great way to keep me interacted and the story was so well written I almost didn't want to turn off my PS4. The character interactions felt so natural, the music was glorious. The characters made me want to sit around camp and learn more about them. Etc etc. RDR2 seemed like a passion project where so many little stories with so much depth was all put in a world where there was already a main arch to follow. It felt so real.
I personally disliked the lack of freedom of choice in the story when it comes to gameplay. E.G the stealth sequences felt super contrived and most of the run and gun segments were super linear. E.G run to this designated zone and wait to be ambushed (trying to flank while killing 10 enemies in the first 20 seconds of the engagement results in your companion getting one-shot by someone 2 miles away.) Many of the major plot points (ally deaths etc.) felt super unnatural because I was attempting to play the mission in a way the developers clearly didn't want me to. So many cases where you're literally forced into an invisible box you can't leave to be forced to listen to some contrived character rant or even pushed by an invisible force to chase a character in the dumbest way possible. Anytime you try to be one step ahead of anyone they force Arthur to have the worst hand possible as if he can't make a single sensible choice. And when you do manage to play how you want, you're suddenly riding a mule instead of a horse, or a sniper takes 7 rifle rounds to the head while simultaneously killing you in one shot since you chose the logical course of action instead of listening to some characters ungodly plan. Also how the game forces you to carry certain weapons and stops you from calling your horse to swap outfits or guns at random times in key missions. (had to restart one mission 5 times since it would put some random ass outfit on me and my guns would de-spawn in a forced sequence.) It's clear that the game was released way before initially planned. (considering half the map is basically unfinished and completely devoid of real content in the prologue.) (the unfinished part is hard for most to notice, but just looking outside the map in the RDR1 area there's many places that compare to minecraft) For many reasons it is an incredible game, but I just feel it also could've been so much more, and deserved so much more. Arthur deserved a _more_ polished game IMO. Last note, Arthur's completely made up accent was a bit off putting as an actual westerner lol, but I'm sure that's not a problem for most people.
I really liked the old Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns like The Good the Bad and the Ugly. Red Dead Revolver was a greatly inspired by those classic movies and one of my favorite games at the time.
Same here. My dad always used to watch the Clint Spaghetti Westerns. These games kinda hit a note of nostalgia even though I hated those cowboy films growing up. Lol
Oh absolutely, he’s an incredibly well written character. When I say he’s the worst I mean in regards to the way he makes me feel. He makes me angry and frustrated but I totally get that’s the point and cause of that it makes him a grade A antagonist
@@iggylikesgamesI think he’s kinda flawed in that he literally has no endearing actions or moments whatsoever. Even if a character is blatantly evil I think it’s better to add something relatable to them, even small, so that they don’t feel one dimensional. Micah really doesn’t have that though.
i dont get how people dont like the epilogue its my favourite part of the game together with chapter 2 and 3 but jm also is my favourite char so that maybe why
fun fact: the people you help as arthur you can revisit them as john marston since Arthur gave him his journal, like the widow you help hunt you can go to her as john and he says he saw how arthur wrote about her showing how arthur cares about everyone and everything happens to him.
I’m not even responding to those comments tbh , I appreciate everyone coming to my defense for sure and I’m just focusing on those people and anyone else this video finds that is the right audience for my stuff
Me and my buddies played through Red Dead Revolver so many times after it came out. I think because my xbox kept freezing while it was autosaving. We would be pissed for a but then would restart it lol good times being 14 or so
So, I have chronic pain in my legs and back, and when it acts up I try not to laugh because the sudden movements will cause more pain - I had to actually save this video to watch at a later time because this man's humor was making me laugh too hard and it HURT. thanks for the great video, man, good stuff ❤
DUDE I AGREE! I really want a rdr3 where we play as Sadie I mean she’s such a cool character and it would be super fun to see what she does after the break up of the gang!

When people say RDR2 is the best video game of all time some people would still not considered it but imo if we say that RDR2 is the best solo game of all time everyone can agree
34:55 it doesn’t matter since you’ve already completed the game but in case you play the game again and get this glitch or for anyone else out there. All you do is do a story mission if you have one in camp, or if you still got that temporary horse that you steal from valentine, just go to another story mission. It’ll spawn your horse or if you keep the temporary horse instead, at least your other horse would be spawned hitched somewhere near or in camp
As far as cutscenes in RDR2 There are alot differnt cutscenes for low honour Arthur He is very differnt person in the end with low honour He is allot like William munny from Unforgiven.
Actualy almost all of the soundtrack of Red Dead Revolver was taken from various western movies, wich explained why it is so fkcing great. Such a shame that almost everyone ignored this game today, he had such a mood that neither Redemption 1 or 2 never had.
39:55 Milton died in 1899 bro 😭 Also they didnt hire John, they kidnapped his family and forced him to do their dirty work in order to get their family back.
played red dead revolver after beating rdr2, and comparing the three games is actually hilarious because very few game series get better over time, but red dead is one of the best depictions of this happening. revolver was alright, it was fun, the graphics at the time weren't entirely outdated or anything from what i remember playing it upon release. redemption 1 had at the time one of the most likeable protagonists of all time, excellent gameplay, thorough story for being set after events of rdr2 while not spoiling anything too hard to prevent rdr2 coming out. rdr2 had THE BEST protagonist of all time, one of the BEST plots of any game especially considering all other 3rd person shooter/adventure games, and it had one of the most beautiful worlds ive seen to this day, without being unrealistic. the map is absolutely stunning, enticing you inter immersion since it's about as close to real life as one of these games got. it FELT like you were there, running around on horseback robbing trains, and banks, and running from the law. the animals FELT real. i can see how they spent as much as they did on this game, and im sure everyone from developers and fans to board members at rockstar can confirm this was one of the greatest investments of game studios ever.
We need a undead nightmare 2. We play as john again but this time the reason the outbreak happens is cause dutch missed poor Ole arthur and who blames him. Dutch goes to mexico and finds Loki's mask cause that's actually the mask from the Jim carry movie that is called the mask and also further evidence showin the mask is lokis mask it appears in one of the norse god of war games I think it's ragnarok its in but anyway dutch gets the mask to bring arthur back dutch brings arthur back but as a zombie along with everyone else dead so that means everyone in the gang except Sean would come back and john has to go out and save the world from a crazed dutch runin around controllin the zombies
Another nice thing would be the united gang trying to survive the epidemic let's imagine the camp the dialogues would be really cool it would probably end with the whole gang coming in the end Devoured by zombies and we will become Arthur Zombie version to play in free roam
nah bro first will play as arthur after arthur will play as dutch and after dutch as jhon and final jack and will now what dutch and micah did after arthur and in whole epilogue
"I don't know if I liked it" and "pretty sure I'm never going to want to play it again" are exactly how I would describe Redemption 1, having it played it for the first time recently.
I wonder how many people with no nostalgia for it actually thinks it's a great game. I played it for the first time 4 days ago and it felt like a broken unpolished game with very odd, clunky movement mechanics. It took all those days of struggling to finally get use to working with its shortcomings and finding some enjoyment in it. Would I replay this again? Hell no. At most I might unlock all the costumes and call it a day.
I got the Deadly Assassin outfit pretty early in the game, purely just from seeing the prequisites and thinking they sounded easy. It was the only outfit I needed and my favorite outfit design in the whole game.@@icantaim4sht836
There existed an facebook game from red dead redemption that you could duel users so it could promote rdr1, but the game was deleted because it didnt followed facebook rules
Annie Stoakes was definitely related to Bonnie MacFarlane in some way. I mean. Just look at them. xD Also.. Unpopular opinion that I am prepared to be mobbed for expressing but.. John Marston is overrated and I didn't get sad at _all_ at his death when I played RDR1 for the first time.. He just feels like such a flat character for most of the game. He's just angry with glimpses of good here and there, but mostly just as simple as can be. Nowhere near the levels of depth that Arthur has. Not even in RDR2 does he improve that much. I mean seriously. The man's expression barely ever chances in RDR1, and you can't tell me that it's because of the older graphics. Lots of the other characters in RDR1 emote and have lots of personality.
So glad I wasn’t the one who was effected by Arthur’s death because his death killed me I was so sad and to this day I still think about it and it makes me so sad
Honestly if rdr3 comes out someday i really want it to be set either in the 1870s or 1910s after rdr1 where we follow Jack. "Oh but if its not a western its not red dead!" So? Why not experience something new from rockstar
i want all of us to agree that the writers are wrong and that the red dead and gta games are in the same universe/timeline but i know us fans are split
