Something I love about Trap Team is that each individual villain you can get has unique dialogue of them reacting to the game - they can comment on groups of enemies showing up, you being low on health and suggesting they take the wheel, when things ahead might get serious, or even just casual conversation in the hub world. That alone added tons of replay value for me as a kid.
I'm glad you're making more skylander content! Its really well made! Not that I don't like your other content... I just love skylanders. Also, Giants will always have a special place in my heart.
When I was a kid, I had both Spyro's Adventure and Giants on the Wii, and Swap Force on the Wii U. I regularly would jump from game-to-game, playing my favorite levels with my favorite Skylanders. Although Swap Force looked the best visually, and Giants was a more polished version of Spyro's Adventure, I always found myself gravitating back towards the first entry in the series. Not only did Spyro's Adventure have the best Skylander roster in the whole series, it also felt the most genuine, catered towards having a fun experience. I feel like that element started to fade with each passing entry. While I don't think the gimmicks of Giants, Swap Force, Trap Team (or even Superchargers) were bad in concept-- the accessibility made it hard to keep up. Collecting them became a chore rather than a hobby. The magic of Spyro's Adventure was that every Skylander was on equal footing. The toys never felt more alive. I honestly think if they kept the formula for the OG figurines, they could've implemented the same gimmicks from future games as bonus features. That way the figurines would still be affordable. The series could still be releasing new entries to this day.
Your ranking and reasons are really valid. Just remembering which i enjoyed most when I was a kid tho it was: 1. Trap Team 2. Spyro's Adventure 3. Swap Force 4. Giants 5. Imaginators 6. Superchargers
I would swap Swap Force with Trap Team, due to the big paywall of needing a Trap Master for trap elemental gates. I also feel Trap Team was where game become more pay to win, which heavily affected the last two games.
There's one thing you forgot to mention: SuperChargers had a collaboration with Nintendo, making Bowser and Donkey Kong into skylanders whose figures also doubled as amiibo, that's what got me to play the game when I was cynically opposed to the series from the beginning. Not to mention the Wii and 3DS versions of SuperChargers were their own separate game, being a dedicated racing game. Even the main version featured a racing mode that allowed for PvP multiplayer both locally and online.
10:26 Welcome back to Woodburrow, hero of the Cloudbreak Islands! Dreamcatcher on the Wii is the hardest version of her. It's your Wii that's fighting the hard fight, though.
@@gamefishbram For the personal ranking thing: Giants is better but I prefer SSA, Trap Team is in third and Swap Force felt very jarring to play on the Wii. All have their own merits, though, and I would be much more fair in ranking if I had played these games on another console.
I get that, the atmosphere of ssa is something very special :) Yeah the wii versions of swap force and Trap Team are straight garbage hahaha. I'd 100% recommend to try them on a ps3 or newer consoles. Very enjoyable experiences there!
i owned the wii version of superchargers, and i only found out the difference years after i was done with it 😭 also, i used to play skystones on repeat for some reason
Hahaha, probably for the better tho, the Wii would probably straight up die if it tried to run the actual superchargers 💀 Same man, gotta collect them skystones lol
I found the Wii Superchargers very lacklustre. All it is to me is just a Mario Kart Ripoff. Sure the ending where Finn makes the wish for us was funny, i didnt have a WiiU back then to actually play the proper game. But im the same like you, Wii superchargers only, didnt know the story for the actual game… Dark Hammerslam Bowser on the other hand, a two in one figure of Skylander and Amiibo.
The fifth game shouldn’t have been superchargers, and it should have been the last game in the series. The reason why I say that, is because it abandoned the entire classic fantasy, sort of like a “dnd” feel to it. Instead of the whole vehilces thing, it should’ve gone back to a classic, and dark skylanders game. Like how Spyro’s adventure was. There should’ve been 3 big bads, Kaos, The Darkness and Malefor. I mean it was all right there, Kaos finally ruling skylands, the darkness becoming a fightale entity. Pretty much a Spyro’s Adventure remaster, but, it’s own definitive finale.
I love skylanders, but the Wii version of Trap Team is a fate I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy, and entirely because of 1 level. The observatory level had a horrific bug that made it crash after 10-15 minutes. I did beat it, eventually, but it was frankly harder than every other level combined, and not for any good reason. Still loved the game, but I'd frankly have loved it A LOT MORE if it weren't for that bug.
"Wow an entertaining video with a decent amount of views about something I like! I wonder if he has a lot of subs- 932!?!?" This video was super fun! Hope your channel grows and keep up the good work!
heujjj did i just hear a nederlands accentje? skytuber from the netherlands is always a big plus. i tought the skylanders fans wherr a dying race here.
Appreciate it man :). Yeah superchargers is very much underrated haha. Luckily my wallet didn't take too much of a beating, because I've been building my collection for about 12 years now lol
Swap Force was the first game of the franchise that I played back in 2013 upon receiving the game for Christmas. At first I didn't really want to play it that much, especially when I thought the Skylanders version of Spyro looked like an ugly pug faced dragon; but after a while I found myself starting to enjoy it just as much as I did playing The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning, only after buying the first two games and seeing through different eyes that this is not a bad franchise after all! I like Trap Team the most with Giants coming in second place, Spyro's Adventure in third, Swap Force fourth, SuperChargers fifth, and Imaginators in sixth place (they should have done better by adding some extra things like more Imaginator body parts of various animals including a raccoon set and they also should have made two more Sensei Skylanders in the Light and Dark Elements of the Bazooker and Quickshot classes respectively; and let's not forget the only class the Doomlanders did not touch on but only during the final Kaos fight for four seconds max, the Sentinel class). There's still hope that Activision will bring this franchise back with a new game, even if Microsoft might be the only company to do it, but I want there to be a whole new game with a brand new gimmick and a new set of characters to go with. My wish is that there would be six more games, plus two collections with better graphics for the first two games in the first collection, and of course any glitches to be fixed. I'm asking for a lot of things that might never happen, but there's hope.
Skylanders giants was definitely my favorite and the one I personally grew with (hot head was def my fav giant as well) ok ok one last thing " BE AFRAID OF THE BAAARRRKKK" ahem anyways
Hey I'm from the UK this is probably a dumb question but you know any place where I could get all the skulander games other than places like cex if yk what that is cause it's £120 just for trap team on PS4. I'm still gonna keep on looking on local apps
Great question! The ps4 versions of Swap force and Trap Team have gotten really expensive in Europe over the years, so finding those for cheap is going to be very difficult. I'd recommend the ps3 or xbox 360 versions of those games cause they are still very enjoyable (only difference is they run in 720p instead of 1080p, but that's not even that noticable). If you don't own a ps3 or xbox 360 it'll probably still be cheaper to buy a ps3 with ALL the skylanders games than buying swap force and Trap Team for ps4. Hope that helps!
If you're looking for them I'd probably check etsy or something along those lines (idk what the most popular 2nd hand website is in the UK haha). Tho the ps3 versions should also be relatively cheap in stores like cex!
It unfortunately has gotten very expensive lately. Probably cheaper to buy a ps3 and get swap force for that lol. If you have a ps3 already than be sure to get it because it'll only be a few bucks for swap force :)
Yeah I read something about Skylanders Music Mob being a cancelled follow up? I feel it could only get worse from Imaginators onward tho, so I'm not all too sad it didn't come out lol
Im sorry but this is NOT every skylanders game. Your missing ALL the 3ds exclusive ones which have rheir own stories. ALSO ninjini is the best giant. (Stat wise even as well)
Yeaahhh I know, I just don't own tho and I have a feeling they were not nearly as popular as the mainline games so that's why I didn't include those (I also don't own them and have no way to record 3ds gameplay, but that's a whole other story lol) I'd personally say Swarm is the strongest giant cause you can actually use him on nightmare mode. More power to you if you enjoy playing as Ninjini tho, I just can't seem to like her moveset
My man, who hurt you? I don't mind critisism, but what do you expect me to say to this? If you don't have anything constructive to say to me I'd kindly ask you to just not comment at all. We're just having fun here :)
