I love how Squidward's art isn't viewed magnificently in-universe but praised by fans of the show.

Certainly above a "Mediocre clarinet player" (Plankton said that in his first appearance) other funny jabs at Squidward's skill would include classic episodes Jellyfish Jam, Opposite Day and the Camping Episode. I hesitate on yours take on the notes at 4:29 as, like you said it's hard too tell the lines, but also there's no B-flat to indicate such. And I'm not sure I'd call SpongeBob's piece A-minor either. One animation I applaud for accurately matching sound to notes and piano keys would be Blue's Big Musical Movie. I find many of their instrument combinations through the show to be rather unique on paper. One more recommendation (hopefully for reaction) I could make, would be called Papa Louie MIDI Files which has a clarinet moment of its own.

Great video! I liked your playing! That compilation did have the majority of times when Squidward plays the clarinet but I noticed the omission of the Tiki Dreams episode. Squidward plays really well in that episode. It kinds of hints at the idea that if Squidward is depressed or angry, it stops him from being able to play well on a subconscious level.

I, too, played the clarinet one year back in 6th grade. I honestly chose to play it only because I watched a lot of SpongeBob SquarePants and I saw Squidward play it quite often in the show, so I thought, "I should give that a try." It was fun for the most part, but there are times where I raged so hard that I felt the urge to break my clarinet, just because I kept on messing up over and over, much to the dismay of my former music teacher and the students attending who had to awkwardly watch me do so. My parents told me I had to stop attending music class if I kept doing that, so I gave up playing the clarinet and never touched it since then. My younger step-brother took over that role, though, and handled that same exact instrument much better than I ever could. So, at least *some* good came out of it.

That melody you mentioned that keeps coming back up, all of those clips are from the same episode. Outstanding work, My goal has always been to get my hands on a clarinet and try to give these solos a go as I use to play the clarinet a little when going to music centres but honestly if Squidward saw this then he might learn a lot from you from his mistakes, Very Talented Video.

This was definitely unexpected I am not really a fan of the clarinet as I am of the piano or guitar but it was fun to see none the less but there is one thing you can't do mister principal and that is to play as horribly as Squidward actually does more than 99% of the time.

4:50 A minor is the relative Minor to C major, but I don’t know enough about music theory to say that what SpongeBob played was meant to be in Minor. I just know it is because I play saxophone and whatever the first note in a scale concert pitch is, my Eflat version will be the Relative minor beginning note. Concert C is A for example on my alto.
