This game is made for people who have not played MMOs before, or potentially even video games before. That is why the tool tips explain every single thing. While we are conditioned to MMOs or video games, not everyone is, so they give explanations of what happened and why for everything that might happen to you. You can always disable them or close them out with no issue. This is definitely not a game for people who do not enjoy story or reading in video games. The game is heavily frontloaded with text and reading due to how it had to be developed, and while the base game has been refined a few times it can still be very slow and story dense. It's all foundational knowledge of what comes after of course, but if that isn't for you, that is okay! The combat gets much more complex once you hit 50+ where you begin to weave abilities in between your Global Cooldown (GCD). As a Pugilist, you'd also have positionals, so it would be important for you to know how to read an enemy's hitbox to ensure you're using the correct skill in the correct position to optimize your damage. The free part of the game includes the base game, the first expansion, and soon the second expansion as well. There is not a 1 month limit like you stated in your video. It has unlimited playtime, you can do all the content (Raids, Trials, Alliance Raids, and of course the Main Story Quests). This includes crafting, gathering, and all battle jobs up to level 60 (70 once the second expansion becomes available). There are other restrictions, but those involve things like gil caps and using specific chats. Overall, I do think this video is a good representation of dropping points of a game for people who are like you (this is not a dig, I swear, I just don't know how to phrase it better). Whether it being the sign up process being a pain, the story being slow, or the combat being "okay". I am sorry it didn't resonate with you but I highly recommend for others to take the free route and give the story a go. It's a big ask for time investment, but it really does pay off for those who stick with it. Thanks for the video!

This is exactly the type of tomfoolery Josh Strife mentions in his video "Why You're Not Enjoying Baldurs Gate 3". "Critiques" like this is why nobody takes zoomers seriously. If you lack an attention span, all your doing is limiting yourself to the usual immediate dopamine hit type games with little to no substance.

This is bait. Full of bad info. That que of 6 people, is extremely low, I am guessing he waited all of 7 seconds before he got in. I've been playing for 2 years and I haven't even paid for a month once. Extended free trial that includes base game plus two expansions free (second expansion coming in October). He's telling you how the combat is without even getting to 50 where classes start to click. Everything before 50 is basically a "learn how to play your class" section. One thing he got right, if you don't like story aka reading this might not be the game for you. But as the game progresses there gets more and more voice overs so you don't have to read as much the further you get in. There are a ton of other videos talking about Final Fantasy and its notorious early game, but there is a reason that this is the new King of MMOs. It didn't happen over night it took 10 years in the making to get here, and similarly it'll take a bit before you can really catch your flow with this game, but that's what the free trial is for. But hey as I said I think this video is bait and I've been successfully baited. Enjoy the video interaction.

Is this a troll video, or are you seriously judging a story heavy MMO based on the first 11 levels of 50? (of the base game). You're literally still in the tutorial. Sorry that you didn't enjoy it, but I think most people will warn you that the base game (ARR) experience is bland to okay and it's only in the patches and first expansion where the story gets really good, before then it's more average MMO story. Also you don't need to buy the game, there is an unlimited Free Trial until the end of Heavensward, soon Stormblood, which is the base game and 2 expansions worth of Free Trial. Did all those people telling you to buy the game not mention the Free Trial somehow?
