I Played Final Fantasy 7 In 2024 As A First Timer

It's good knowing you'll be cruising into Rebirth on stream. There's something really special about being able to see how other people react to this remake trilogy as a long time FF7 fan. The conversations are fresh yet similar, the memes get a new coat of paint, and every comment section has a handful of godlike, awesome people. It's just fucking fun.

Oh man, I'm so torn on how you should get your answers -- Crisis Core or OG. I have a way to think about it if you're interested (without any spoilers). It seems like the Remake developers want you to learn it in the order of FF7 Remake ---> Crisis Core --> FF7 Rebirth. But here's where things get twisty. The story of Crisis Core is kinda the biggest mystery of the OG game. Literally toward the second half of the OG game, you learn about stuff from Crisis Core and it is this mind-melting M. Night Shamalyan (sp?) reveal. I'm biased in thinking that it's one of the greatest story reveals ever. But Crisis Core just kinda shows it to you straight up. That's because it seems like the developers are making a whole new "big reveal" for the Remake Trilogy that'll be different from the "big reveal" of the original game. BUT if you want to experience that original mindf*** like we did back in the day, then I recommend playing OG (no, it's not Aerith's death. You'd be surprised to know that her death isn't really the big spoiler of the game). Anyway, great video and always fun to see new people pick up FF7.

I know Nakat probably isn't going to read this, but him going into Remake blind, not really knowing what's happening, then playing Crisis Core, I honestly want to see his reaction to Rebirth without playing the OG. I think it would be really neat to see his reaction, not knowing the entire story. But then again, Rebirth ain't out yet, so who knows what they are gonna do with the story.

You should not play Crisis Core before OG. Crisis Core has spoilers for OG and not the other way around. After Remake, you should either jump straight into Rebirth or play the OG.

If you want the true experience, please dont play crisis core until you finish the OG.
