@@chmun77 I'm gonna get the skyscale next! I'm just playing every expansion in order...this game amazes me because even old expansions don't feel dead. I needed to kill a legendary boss so I made an LFG post. And within 15 minutes we had a full squad ready to go for POF. I love it!
I do agree that the lack of clear content replayable at end game makes guild Wars 2 end game very confusing. Always had this confusing sense since I'm at the end game. Dying really know where to go and what to do, and why to do it. There is no real purpose given clearly. They should make some clear boss or dungeon challenges that would give you purpose to up your character armor, masteries etc.
@@MrErick1160 yeah - the Side Stories in the Janthir Achieve tab is a good place to do some other stories, the map metas and armor collections is a possibility, and of course the major thing: Homesteads!
In the end game, the only purpose is legendary set. That is the main goal of many ppl. It is also very long journey through all the maps. After that it's (imho) just the achievement collections and titles.
I have one question, and this is a "buy the expansion and play it or deal breaker" question: How's the DIFFICULTY? Specially on the new maps, on open world, while questing. Is it challenging? Or do you just steam roll while taking barely any damage? This is what I liked in Path of Fire, all the "campaign" and story, up until the final boss, was kind of challenging and I died quite a few times, and I like that. Thanks!
@@kraziel it really is more challenging than previous maps. The enemies like to apply more conditions on you and play around with boons (corrupting or applying them.) I’ve had to take a second look at bringing a couple utility based skills or traits just so I can survive a bit better.
hmmm so far looks way better than Soto. I also felt that chapters in soto were way too short. Map wise feels a lot more alive and gives you much more to do now that hearts are back and now that events are not meta chained everytime. Story wise sounds promising going back to the lore of central tyria, homestead is phenominal looking at the previews. I guess Ill keep my eye on it. Wait for the first major update. In sotos major update all they added was 1 new map (meta based), 2 strikes, and like 2 story chapters. The roadmap claims theyd give us the raid, more story (hopfeully not just 1-2 short chapters), and 2 more new maps later in the 2nd and final update. KROOF would you put it on par with the first few chapters based on the first 2 maps of POF and EOD?
I just bought it because of Housing and I assume it will have some nice Metas when everything is released, so I can switch between Dragonfall, RIBA, Drizzlewood and this.
I'm loving this video, it's relaxing and i barely played the new content. I just woke up to play more, but honestly, it feels lacking in group content. I wish they had release already a new frac and the convergence... Maybe leave the raid for later but it needed more stuff on release
I'm mixed but mostly positive to Janthir Wilds. It's been a much better experience than SotO was, way less buggy, although the one bug I did have was bad, the heart of the obscure doesn't work so I just flew around today and luckily found the rifts I needed by following random people. My only gripe so far is that big and some enemy fight design choices, being the creatures that cover the entire floor in yellow and purple puddles and all the champs that constantly run and force you to chain them over and over, it's already a tedious mechanic to me. I'm enjoying pretty much everything else although the intro was very dry, I don't mind the Kodan story stuff, I enjoy them but I get why some people find it a slog. But overall, a big improvement to SotO but the new format still needs work IMO.
It’s great expac but sad time for ranger my main ( the spear is suck) and it’s so bump to see how other specs enjoy there new toy while I stay with the same
All I care about is bling, the gw2 lore is not important for me since I started playing gw2, not gw1. I mainly do pvp and WvW. But other content for legendary armours and weapons.
From the sheer amount of quality and content in this first release, you can really see that Blizzard lost a lot of talented people with the stupid "no more remote work" stunt because this amount of stuff either requires working the team to the bone or a massive influx of workers was had.
what are you talking about hahah as if Arena net did anything special in last 4 years? biggest wow factor was Obsidian Armor crafting, and even that is a huge letdown since its a concept from gw1 since release of Prophecies. no new specializations, no new races, barely any new out of the box clothing pieces, no new mounts since dragon, no new classes since revenant, no new weapons (they introduce land spear from water only, where are 2h axes, where are xbows????) there has LITERALLY been rarely any new content for long time now ESPECIALLY lore wise. theres a pattern of "ow ow, this worked in gw1, lets repeat that and hope that nobody remembers we had that already in gw1". im not defending blizzard, im just butthurt about the fact that game i adored the most has come down to.... well... this... introducing absolutely nothig new and saying its new content. I've seen it all, I've read all about it already on gw1 wiki years ago and i dont feel as if nothing of importance was added to game
@@ReadyDaddy Cool, this is about JW though. 1. It's been said many times by ANet that these smaller expansions will only contain elite specs rarely if ever. 2. Clothing pieces? I assume here you mean Outfits? Otherwise, there has been plenty of fashion, 3. ANet did consider it with JW and found their way to implement it lacking so, it was scrapped. 4. What niche would a new mount fill? Better to rework existing ones and the Warclaw rework is ace. 5. Does the game really need more classes? It already has 37 since the especs make the Class so different that it might as well be a new class. 7. Now you're just purely in the "WHAT ABOUT WHAT I WANT?" territory. 8. Go play JW and say that again please, or even SotO. The latter is nothing except new content with reused assets. 8. Blizzard? This is about ANet. There are plenty of new things about JW. Even the Titans are new as they have four legs and are wildly mutated to contain elements other than fire implying that someone is creating them. Perhaps you should spend more time playing the game and less reading GW wikis.
hi if im a new player and on HoT, can I do the janthir wilds expac now? I know it will fuck me up in terms of story but i want to get into it since the content is new, but do I have to get into pof to unlock more mounts or can i just start janthir now
I highly doubt so. Do you have the SOTO expac? It will be better if you have a flying mount from SOTO, but not a deal breaker though. But I would highly suggest that you can get as much mounts as you can from HOT to make things easier in the new maps.
From a story perspective I would recommend to do as much of SOTO’s base expansion - its a good primer. But yes, you can jump right into the new expansion if you’d like. Nothing else is needed.
The real problem of guild wars' story, I feel the interactions sound childish and has always the same characters and feel and follow: some escalating interactions between characters that end up in a face to face with a boss - no deeper dive into a specific figure, it feels really superficial and yeah, childish... feels very boring to me.
I was hoping for a playable bear race :( but I'm extremely excited. I'm camping at the moment. I can't play until Thursday. Oh, also subscribed for such a great video.
@Kroof I miss GW2 every day, thanks to your channel the missing can be a little less sometimes. I will forever curse the publisher for not getting this game on console's. I loved the trailer for this so was so fun to get your take on it after going thru it
From the last video or so Kroof seems to have attached their soul to the gross Acti-Blizzard wagon. Disappointing; I used to value Kroof's opinions and insights regarding GW2.
I'd give it a 3/10. Like Living World Season 1. Boring, too much dialogue, annoying PVE mechanics. Kodan NPCs will put you to sleep, they didn't even bother giving ppl a different stance for the spear.
I have been playing GW2 since 2012, but I stop supporting the game after a complete lack of warrior support. The developers deliberately keep the warrior nerfed as it was shown in the leaked discord documents some time ago. For this reason, I have not purchased the last 3 expansions, I am a warrior main and if they are going to play like this, then we the customers will also play like that. No support for our class? Well, no support for your game either! The latest expansion gave warrior the worst spear in the entire game, and they have been doing this BS for ages now! Enough is enough! No more GW2 for me good bye! Gonna play something else like Throne and Liverty when it comes out on September 17, 2024. one month from now. BYE BYE
Imagine banking on TnL that was already clowned on by koreans. They can’t win in their own turf, is some kind of miracle supposed to happen for their release in the west? I hope that works out for you though.
They told us most is obtainable in the game with a small percentage into the gemstore. But even if they did go hard on gemstore, 1. You can convert gold to gems if you dont want to spend money and 2. Other mmorpg's ask subfee, this is gw2 their way to bring us buy once, play forever content they have to get money somehow, i think gw2 is the most fair mmorpg in terms of cost.
You cannot bring your "real world" money with you when you are no longer part of the Earth. So why not just spend some of it and enjoy yourself while you still can?
Anet gives you early access so you can share it with your subscribers and generate hype in the weeks leading up to the expansion launch. Like the wonderful videos created by Bloom, Mukluk, and Weeping Willow. Instead you squandered this opportunity like an entitled child. What's the point of having early access if you just gonna post this subpar "preview" video literally 2 minutes before the actual launch?!? If you can't fulfill your duty as a anet partner, move aside so other competent content creators can do the work.

Just to clear up why I could post and not other partners Arenanet specifically asked for a collab about warclaw to me,(and I think, same happened for Lara and Muk with their vids) and I have a different kind of contract/agreement for this which is why I could post mine before the release normally partners that have early access arent allowed to share anything untill release. This includes Kroof, and normally this would include me too, this was just a special occassion or so to say :D Its fun to see vids from early access and I personally would love for more partners to get a similair opportunity, but its in the end Arenanet who decides who gets it
this is why you dont pre order games. Once NDA are cleared up watch every content creators partnered and unpartnered impressions then make your own opinion and decision.
Funny, I watched some of those wonderful videos from those early access and reality is quite opposite. Cant even modify my decorations, got crash try to get into instance and whole maps are full of bugged events and even meta. I wasn't hyped tho, I knew from SOTO this will be another meh content.
