I'm still fascinated by how many PlanCo fans are like "I need these slight modifications to coaster building!" as opposed to the much needed love that dark rides still need to be shown.
@@Geekism I hope so. Thanks again for this inside look. The dark ride fandom are a large but also largely silent group, so I'll be the noisy one. We would LOVE a look at PC2's take on dark rides. Flooring, how easy it is to build show buildings, entrance and exits, indoor lighting, track modifications, everything. I hated spending 90% of my time building the flooring and show buildings in PC1 as opposed to scenes and ride mechanics, would love QoL adjustments there.
I failed in my coaster creating... I spent the full 45 mins playing with pools... and then when I was let loose on sandbox my tism kicked in and I spent my time clicking through menus finding fun things to use in the future! I'm currently 18 mins in and I'm loving your video! Your play looks so much better than mine..
Haha, I just watched your video and thought 'Man, he's nailed this... much better than my ramblings' lol Luckily Corvus has our backs, he's done a great video on all the switch/drop/tilt track options!
@@Geekism put that in the email too! I’d much rather have it just open and have a staff member there. That’s what they would have in a real park. At Disney the classic “how many?” Then they direct you to which number hahaha
PINNED POST UPDATES! (I'll add stuff here as I get it) - Track Rides WERE in the build, I was looking at blueprints and didn't click 'Create New' Boo! Still, we'll look at them soon - You can make ACTUAL dark interiors now!
Being able to attach stuff to ride vehicles without it physically 'touching' the vehicle is super exciting! I'm imagining burying a slow-moving ride unground, putting a really wide path above it, and building parade floats attached to the ride cars!
The ability to go in and scale things like trees might provide a real opportunity ... park through the years. You start your park with small trees and grow them a little every year. Screenshots as your park expands and the old area is well developed and tall trees, with the new themed area having brand new planted ones, particularly in those areas where you couldn't easily get a machine to plant an older tree.
My favorite part was the wooden coaster POV with the big ass lamp attached--perfection! What a lovely rundown of your time. You learned a LOT more than I did, omg. Can't wait until we're able to really have a proper sit down with it and figure it out.
yes plz, pc ppl need to let them know about this…i switched from pc to console (performance reasons) and it was an immediate gripe for me, rlly hurts the workflow of building tbh
I could see the singing eels becoming a Planco 2 meme, like "Hey, you. You're finally awake." Just stick them in a ride at really silly times. I kind of already want a singing eel t-shirt.
The ability to scale grouped items is pretty nice. You can make things like the alice in wonderland or it's a small world ride with that. Making a full building then scaling it down to look small.
26:18 I know EXACTLY what you're talking about, and I'm DEVASTATED the advance move object replacement feature is missing!! It's been the most frustrating part about playing the Console Editions of PlanCo1 and Planet Zoo--it's a CRITICAL feature for precision building, and I sincerely hope Frontier brings it into the game before launch!!
Thanks for the video Jonti! Hmmm with that "Attached to the coaster" segment you mention...I think that means scenery can become animatronics in a way.... Just hook it up to a hidden ride...lol
I heard the Duluxe edition comes with a free Old English Sheepdog 😂 I can't wait to get my hands on this game. I'm already planning out a park and deciding what rides to use.
Thanks for sharing this Jonti! I think my biggest concern with any sequel release is the question of how assets and features will be available in the base game, and whether we’ll need to wait until a few DLCs are released until the game truly feels complete (or at least more on par with what we’re used to). I don’t think I have those concerns with Planet Coaster. Not as much as other franchises anyways (*cough cough* looking at you CSII *cough cough*). We already have so much to work with, so I think it’ll be easy to fully jump into the game right away.
I have no self control, it is 1 am and I have college tomorrow and I already know everything from other people’s videos BUT GEEKISM UPLOADED I GOTTA WATCH IT
I have a video idea! Could you give us tips and tricks on how to structure and organise the general layout of a water park so it doesn’t look like a chaotic mess. However it would have some logical flow (in terms of zoning) and have aesthetic beauty to it when seen from above. Thank you 😊
1:32 if this means we can let the park set our prices for us like that RCT2 addon does, I will be absolutely thrilled since that is what finally got me to do away with money cheats. If it does not, I want it to have that feature.
Quality video as always, im really loving long form relaxed approach, I need go try this next time! You went so much mode in-depth than I did. Finding it really interesting all the different experiences we had with the event 😊
Thanks! It's kinda awesome that we saw such different stuff. I love your coverage of all the rides and coasters! Can't wait to see what everyone builds!
I think a lot of these coaster trains still need to be less themed. Not all flying coasters are themed to manta rays. Wing coasters aren’t themed to black hawks. Junior coasters aren’t always dragons. I hope they make these more generic.
i cannot wait for this to be fully released always played themepark tycoon 2 in roblox then got planet coaster now i want this one lol, thanks for the video great content!
I remember starting up PC for the first time when it first came out and how disappointed I was that you could not scale anything. This right here is the biggest selling point for me.
I hope they will add more trackrides like rapids and darkrides like the trackless darkride cuz there are actually no options for darkrides… maybe the ghost train thats it
Really enjoyed this video and getting excited to play the game when it lands. I wonder what happens if you place multplie singing eels down? Would they sync to make a giant, very loud song, or could you time them to sing in a round? 😊
Thank you for this detailed Showcase especially on the scaling of objects. Absolutely agree on that very elegant way how they block underscaled/ overscaled objects when they are in a group. I still would prefer 1-500% but it limits one in a healthy way from going absolute insane. 😅By any chance did you or someone catched the max park size measurements? Thanks!
fascinating to see how those games most important aspect shifted from "management" to "creativity", a trend that also exists in the city simulation genre, not to mention planet zoo. clearly the devs have realized that the "creative" side of a game gives it much better longevity, i was trying to generate a profit in the tycoon games, now i spend 100 hours prettifying a fountain in planet coaster. give your game infinite replayability by adding a new color to basic bricks, why bother with accurate management simulations
Not sure if it's a 'why bother', more of a shift in playstyle. I certainly think content creation has been part of it, creators make pretty stuff, viewers also want to, developers provide tools, repeat
37:00 I think it's good the rounding tool didn't smooth out that corner, but only the 'nodes itself', because we'll be able to make more detailed paths whilest still being able to smooth them. (espacially handy for waterparks or an adventure themed area)
In general, the UI looks a lot like planco 1 console version. This excites me as a console player because it appears they are trying to make a game that shares an interface between platforms. Soooo many hours spent watching PC players do something and having to figure out how to translate it to console version.
I do wonder if there will be an management/strategy you need to do. Say rebuild rollercoasters once they get old and people lose interest. Figure out a way to get guests to certain areas of the park. Build hotels to keep guests in your park. Really just anything to give purpose to really decking out the build of your amusement park.
I like the curvature of the "body slide flume" and the leaning during the test ride at the turns when gravity pushes you to the side of the slide, but I'm scared by the angular shape and no tilt in the turn of the other water slides. It looks unnatural, because there are no natural physical properties that act on humans in inflatable slides. Do you think Frontier will fix this by the release date or is this the final behavioral design for flat water slides?
Hopefully they'll have steeplechase coaster options like at Blackpool or historically at coney Island, as well as the ability to actually build a true mobius loop coaster such as the grand national at Blackpool
As soon as they said "You can attach scenery pieces to ride cars" My brain went... "So, static Dinosaur statues on a Track Ride... Monster's Moving about the park!? " Im really looking forward to the... uh.. Public Beta?. Or release day on Nov 6th. Lol. I shall revisit my Friction testing videos as I did with PC1. Im hoping they did a better job this time. Im really excited to see where this all goes. It looks like the Render engine is similar to PZ and JP which means.... DARK RIDES (that function as dark rides, even when the Sun is up). Im really excited to see what the gfx are like at night though, how the Engine handles the lights and new FX rendering and so on. I shall def be sinking some serious hours into PC2 and Putting my Content Creator hat back on for it.
I still need to know if they added Beach / Ocean terrain. It's important for my build ideas. It's impossible to make an ocean without it just looking like a lake.
In Rudi’s video he was able to see the track rides from that coaster menu. So weird you couldn’t see them. But if you want to know what’s included you can check out his video. Looks like they have busses and I’m hyped up
It doesn’t look like guest animations have been improved at all. I heard PC2 allows for more crowds to be in your park, but i was hoping the guests’ behavior and movement would appear more realistic, more sophisticated and interact with environment more. Perhaps this can be patched in later on. I love building, but the whole payoff for me is watching the guests interact with what I’ve built.
In close up clips, they show a lot of new animations... but yeah, they still seem to move very much 'on rails' from one ride to the next. Would really love to see more guests just 'meander'
I appreciate the little things, like High Peaks Construction is clearly Rocky Mountain Construction, Valais & Nidwalden strikes me as Bolliger & Mabillard, F&F is S&S Sansei, Vector aka Vekoma, Dart or better known as Arrow, Giovanni even though rather small made Goliath in Magic Mountain which is a beast from Giovanola. I think my favorite is Outamax being Intamin xD or maybe Jerry St. Lauer, yeah he probably owns Gerstlauer.
I’m hoping they add something akin to the S.C.O.O.P. Or Evac from Spider-Man and Transformers. 12 seater motion base tracked ride with walls on each side (with the right wall being a door that raises)
Can’t wait to build dark rides ! Hope there will be a VR fonction I am building dark rides on my channel if you wanna have a look . My next is Pirates of the Caribbean 🌴✨
I wish they'd release animatronics that looked more like real animatronics sometimes. The ells are cool, but I'd rather have realistic janky eels that have mechanical movements sometimes!
I've often thought this... I'd almost like 2 of every animatronic one with the smooth movement of a Disney animatronic and another one that's super janky lol
