great vlog. I love videos showing the table action. great editing and production. looking forward to more. if bluffing isn't working, don't keep beating the horse. it's okay to check and give up
first time watching any of your vlogs and really enjoyed it, even if i am slightly jealous of your life jetting around america playing poker! great content and like how you break down your thoughts and especially the hand from the past, something different.
Awesome video man!!!!!! I love this concept of traveling all around for each video!!!! If you are ever in the Chicagoland area please hit me up. Every Saturday and Sunday there is a public game called Windy City Poker where rake($5 max)goes to different charities. It is usually a $1/2 game with a $100 min $1,000 max and can play crazy big on Saturdays. Super fun and would probably be great for your video.
Cool new format man. Still didn’t get to see much about your jet though! If you land in Portland come play at Portland meadows. We have crazy action. One thing I’ve noticed is when you 3 bet you tend to use that exact 3x size no matter the configuration. Like the Aces hand at the Barrel. You have a limper and an open and you only use 3x. I’d have probably made it like 80-90 there. At least shed the limper and isolate the opener. You get into a lot of multi way post flop spots though because you 3 bet too small. Just my two cents! Happy travels.
Yeah I'm trying to be delicate about blatantly advertising my employer haha. Showing my jet would mean showing the company logo and I'm trying to tip toe around that for now. But that type of jet I put flying in the first couple seconds? That's what I fly. The Challenger 350/300. Good advice on the 3 bet sizing. Yeah I do tend to just 3x it. And I've been dying to get a lucky Portland layover. Both to escape the heat of the rest of the country and to check out the Meadows. Hopefully soon!
@@ThePokerPilotyeah that makes sense, even a clip of the yoke and dash would be cool. About the 3 bets, Bart Hansen has a good strategy; 3x plus 1x for every caller or limper, and 4x plus every limper when you’re out of position. Either way you are 3 betting way too small. Start sizing up so you don’t keep ending up in multiway spots
I'm pretty new to live poker. I mainly play 1/3 and bluffs never work (at my games) because everyone is a calling machine. I've been called down when I was semi-bluffing with pocket 4s and still won haha. I think if you want these bluffs to be more successful, consider having a deeper SPR. People pay off anything small just to 'see it'. Great vlog by the way!
Thanks for the compliment and good advice! It has been a weakness of mine to set things up for an all in bluff, when I should keep the pot small the majority of the time.
JJ is a tough spot but I think you're read is right and there are more combos that you beat and want calls from. Also... I just drove through Vail, CO on Thursday! But i don't get to enjoy the views because it's 2:00 AM when I pass through there.
As a Poker player who works a Corporate job (WFH) and aspires to 'retire' as a pilot (im 38) you got yourself a new sub! great content, well done and good luck in the future brother!
Dudeee this is awesome, fucking mad jealous of the lifestyle. I have a career but travel to play almost every weekend.. the traveling rake always hurts the profits. You got that figured out sir
local to miami and go to magic city often and yes the people there call almost everything even with the smallest pair. Hard to bluff the crowd over there
If your travels ever get you to where I live in Dayton OH, we have a quality Poker Club called Mad River that you can play at & is highly rated according to PokerAtlas reviews. It is a little bit of a drive from the International Airport & the smaller local airport where you might fly your jets into. A few vloggers have been allowed to film there in its existence including Wolfgang Poker. While this video was awful in terms of In For $ Out for $ Results, may the next 1 be better for you!
I had the Queens! I put you on JJ or Tens. Maybe a suited Ace King that missed the flush. Other guy seemed disinterested in the hand. So my real worry was you. I don’t know how he had the power to fold that hand.
Haha there you are! Yeah, I was mostly unworried about him too, but as I said in the video I would have rather he just fold. Good hand man and it still keeps me up at night haha. Hope to play out at Barrel Club again soon! How close was I to convincing you I had aces or kings just out of curiosity?
First timer here. Great vlog, man. Certainly love the idea behind traveling and playing poker (which is what I always dreamt of doing), and the Poker Pilot name is a catchy one! Can totally see your channel taking off, no pun intended 😁 P.S. You ever fly to Toronto? Would be happy to show you the local rooms, in fact this is what we did with my Florida friend and had it recorded for the vlog: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MnsVrN7qLLE.html - who knows, maybe we could do a collab of this nature too in the future :)
Appreciate the watch and the compliments! Yep I do make it to Toronto sometimes. I've thought of playing at Great Canadian but the sky high rake has turned me off! But a colab at some point would be awesome!
@@ThePokerPilot Oh yeah we have a much higher rake in the GTA haha. In terms of rake and action, the Casino Niagara is the best! (It has a session fee for every 30 mins as opposed to $15-20 rakes in other places)
@@ZarinaPokerTV Just have to get a long enough layover to make the drive down to Niagara area lol. I also make it to Montreal sometimes and I love the games at Playground! I just love visiting Canada in general
@@ThePokerPilot Ooooh yes, Playground is my absolute fave! I got the official permission there to record for the vlog, but don't make it there quite often as I would've liked. Damn, I like that you can just fly all over the US and Canada.
You’re bluffing at the wrong time. Plus the jacks were playing into two callers, they aren’t calling with nothing. Tens are nice in theory, but they aren’t strong to call down in that situation so you have to give credit.
A lot of it was table dynamics. That game was high action and pretty off the rails for a 1/3 game, which isn't really an excuse but I just chose the wrong time to go with it unfortunately.
I think you chose the right spot to bluff a lot of the times, but you just didn’t have a big enough bet. As you can see no one likes to fold a pair to a half pot river bet. Need to sculpt the SPR so you have a nice juicy overbet on the river
Pocket Aces = "American Airlines" Pocket Aces that get cracked = "Aerolinas Argentinas" Pocket Kings = "The cowboys" Pocket Kings that get cracked = "The Dallas Cowboys" Pocket Queens = "The ladies" Pocket Queens that get cracked = "Hillary and Chelsea"
They weren't that evening at least lol. Lately I've kinda just been filming, and if I get asked to stop (which has only happened once so far), then I will obviously oblige.
Hey man, I’d love to connect with you. I’m a poker playing commercial pilot as well currently based in ABQ. Totally respect your privacy but thought I’d throw it out there.
Could be a possibility. He also mentioned he was worried about the aggression me and the button were showing with basically no regard toward him being in the hand.
You don’t need annoying music when Talking about your hands … Its the reason i I didn’t watch any further after 3:05 … Got fed up of trying to hear what you were saying over the background music that was to loud…. Thumbs down 👎
Wasted $150 on the very first hand, when you clearly could have limited your loss to $25 with a check fold, or check call for a little more. Out of position is not where you want to be with QJ suited, and a whiff on the flop. Also have to add that players showing up with a big glass airplane for a poker card guard are way more likely to get called down…maybe stick with the poker chip if you must.
STUMBLED on your Vlog, I see that you don’t VALUE BET MUCH. You’d rather bet the whole enchilada as opposed to getting something out of your opponent that would make you more money.
23:18 - Before looking at what happened, this flop c-bet in a 3-way pot here on a low draw-heavy board is WAY too small. You should be going closer to pot. $80 is WAY too small multi-way where you're really only worried about 88 or 66. The rest, you should be ahead and need protection and equity denial and can get value from worse.
Just saw, damn QQ. Woulda been same result either way, but not being results oriented, larger flop bet is still better....plus the 6x coulda gotten out, lol.
Good advice. I tend in multiway to use smaller sizes but in this case you're right a big bet would have given both opponents a lot more pause. That hand was rough. I felt I would usually show up with the best hand, but in this case I was in last place. Brutal!
