I Played Prince of Persia The Sands of Time For The First Time - PS2 Retrospective

@@RETRObutionofficial I never got to actually play them, I mostly heard of them from my friends at school and I can distinctly remember the game cover art which I thought looked pretty cool at the time. Some time ago I had a look at them through gameplay videos and I thought they were a bit too edgy for my liking, I preferred the look of the sands of time

They're getting quite pricey but luckily I got one cheap from my friend. But the experience is great, I think a big thing is the input latency because the cheap HDMI converters from Amazon etc add a bit of latency to the old consoles. I was genuinely blown away at the colours and how much better the PS2 looks on the CRT in comparison to a HDTV so I'm happy I have one. Plus if you ever want to play light gun shooters like Time Crisis then you need one Another thing you have to think about is the space, even my small one takes up a lot of room Thanks for watching :) if you have any more questions let me know

@@RETRObutionofficial thanks mate, yeah the space is what's kept me from getting one, here in Aus they are still pretty easy to find and not that expensive, I was tempted to get one a few weeks ago, I saw one for $80 and it looked in good condition. But yeah I just don't know where I'd put it.

Yeah its a pain, my friend bought a few and he's running out of space. Mine works perfect but I'd like atleast one backup in case it dies

@@TheGunmanChannel guarantee you can find one cheaper than that. unless they're super rare in aus for some reason, in us you shouldnt pay more than 20$usd for one. You should absolutely get one though, games from the 6th console generation and earlier, pixel art games in particular, quite literally _don't look right_ if they aren't on a CRT. With a CRT, the light from each "pixel" (not really pixels but you know what i mean) disperses to each "pixel" around it, blending together and softening - though _NOT blurring_ - the image. The classic example is in Symphony of the Night; Dracula's pupils are a single red pixel, which looks kinda weird on modern displays. On CRTs, however, that bright red bleeds into the surrounding pixels, giving the impression that he has glowing red eyeballs.
