Usually people will et rid of their orange clothes by replacing them with ANY non puppet clothes you find. The orange stands out WAY too much for other players to spot you. You also want to start closing doors behind you, open doors tell other players you are inside and it also allows puppets to follow you inside.
First of all if you plan to play multiplayer - i advise you to destroy your card FIRST thing you do before crafting anything. When i see your movements, its obvious youre a newbie, and nothing wrong with it, but when you die or get killed- somebody will find your body and after few guesses of your password they will take all of your money (if you have some on it ofc) if they get your card and they get access to the nearest ATM or safe zone. Beside that, you should use an axe for melee, arrows for puppets, be sneaky and dont engage into melee fights in towns, bunkers. Every puppet kill should be stealth to the max if youre planing to find some live player before he finds you first. Beside that you patched yourself with dirty rags - you can easily infect yourself in that way and die very fast just after you patched yourself - if you dont get antibiotics soon enough.
Great game but here's the usual scenario. Spawn in, search for hours for anything useful. Get semi geared (After years) a puppet slaps you and you die. Scenario 2. spend 3 years looting to get semi geared. Then get shot out of nowhere by a fully geared chad.
You made Scum look more appealing than I found it when I tried it lol. Everything seemed to be going pretty well up until the end too! Shame about the pants, but great video nonetheless BD!
SCUM is a beautiful game, the scenery/world is incredible, especially once you get a boat or plane and able to see the world properly. I've done 200 hours and i've only ever played Single Player haha, no way i'm doing Multiplayer and have somebody raid my stuff whilst i'm at work/sleeping hahahahahaha
I always thought this game had a lot of potential. If they would keep showing it love then maybe people would play it! The loot table was absolutely terrible the last time I saw someone play it so hopefully it’s been adjusted since then!
Oh they absolutely show it love! Constant updates and communication from the devs. It's in version 0.9 right now so they're close to official release so I'm sure they'll make a big marketing push when 1.0 releases. As for the loot, it's changed a lot and multiplayer servers can have extra loot and single player you now have a ton of customization options and increasing the amount of loot is an option 🙂
imagine running up to a bush with a knife and managing to craft a working bow, arrows and a quiver! It's daft. Also, why are they dying with one shot from a stick and yet can tank a dozen stabs in the skull with a metal pitchfork? I would have been tempted to play this game were it not for such an over-complicated crafting/inventory system. Sometimes less is more. Dayz got the balance right and it looks better too imo.
Unfortunately the devs took a bigger bite than what they can chew with this game. Still broken as f. Even after so many years. And people complain about EFT XD
This is the worse game ever. The mods on the forums are utter belleends, the Devs take no constructive feedback as "constructive" and ban you from every platform. I have been playing Scum since 0.5 or something, we had planes, vehicles and everything and everyone dreaded patch day, because the servers would restart constantly, game crashes, sound elements still not working in the latest release, the latest new year's patch was such a mess, you could not eat, then a patch was released to patch the patch, naw, after hosting this game with a fellow friend and having a good server going, we cancelled out subscription immediately and even gave this crap game back to the devs. This is a DayZ clonse, the same sounds and elements as DayZ but uses 10x more resources on your machine to make it look pretty. It is a heap of garbage and I hope this game dies a slow death. It get's boring after playing for 10-20 hours, you have seen it all and done it all, nothing special and the PVP servers are not full of ESP / Wallhack / Aimbots etc, hackers are making fun of this silly Chinese Anti cheat nonsense that does not work. It is tiring as an admin to constantly have to respawn loot for people because the car fell through the floor, or someone died because they did not know weight will bring them down in water. Oh here is the best, after 0.7 or there about, the devs decide to remove all vehicles (tractors / trucks / police cars / vans / bicycles / airplanes / motorcycles for a silly little modular car that cannot drive, keeps getting stuck on the road and explodes. It was the worste few months, I actually took leave after that for some months just to return and find nothing has changed but a few scare things in the bunkers.....wow. Oh and the planes are back and trucks. You find a car, you have to go look around everywhere on the map to find the items, which is to heavy, and some of them like wheels must be carried in your arms, imaging taking a nice walk for 2 hours just to get shot by another player.....what is the use of vehicles then. Nah you guys enjoy this silly little game, beta my arse, they have been in beta for years and still cannot get it right. The new narrative now is pay to win, watch it will get more and more "DLC" and later in game mini transactions. GamePires, more like GamePirates. Crash and burn Scum. DayZ is in any way much better than this nonsense
I play scum since it was released and play like 1 year and stop now becoz I really enjoy on this game but after server wipe, I feels empty again and again, when on first release this game got so much glitches and bugs ,also so many cheaters , but now , it’s more improve but still I quit becoz of wipe,😂
I saw you were looking for pant but left the black firefighter pants off one of the puppets. I think that would have been not the best but better than the orange.
I haven't really done much PvP at all, I usually focus on the survival aspect more than anything. The new .95 update just released today which comes with a ton of new changes and fixes. Hopefully you can get back into it at some point, I absolutely love it
So what exactly do you do in SCUM? It seems like there is no goal to this game if you are into solo PVE play. Once you get a base and survive what is the goal? Other survival games have raids and a things like that
Not to over simplify it, but the whole goal is survival. There are a ton of POI's that are fun to explore. A huge city infested with puppets, a massive nuclear plant/radiated area, bunkers with "kill boxes" with tons of great loot but extremely dangerous with mechs, military puppets and new beast-like puppets. Once they hit v1.0 there's even more content planned
I stopped playing scum after hackers destroyed the base that i spent hundreds of hours building. Sadly there are tons of hackers here as in any other pvp/multiplayer/fps game out there that don't have robust anticheat software. Stolid spear stabbing. Tip: the bow is extremely useful/strong. You can even clear out entire bunkers with the starting bow if you're good.
Sorry to hear about your experience! I haven't played much multiplayer besides what I've played for this series and I haven't had any issues with hackers. Probably because this server focuses on PvE, though it does have a PvP zone that I don't go in. I'm guessing the majority of hackers hang out in official servers (as they do with most PvP multiplayer games) so you may have better luck finding a server like the one I'm on that doesn't have as much of an issue with hackers!
Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't considered non-official servers anymore after some mod/gamemaser on a nonofficial server killed me for "asking too many questions". I was just picked up and placed high in the air to fall to my death right after a bunker run.. (The issue was that we were always "supposed to close all doors behind us in every bunker" and I asked what would happen if I didn't do this as a new player who just didn't know the game, as i had never closed any doors behind me) So I didn't like to be at the mercy of some powerhungry people.. but yeah, i guess compromises have to be made if one wants to play scum in multiplayer@@BlondeDon
the game is boring, you run around the map for a long time to find a place to build a base, then you look for materials to build it, another 5 hours after building the base, you suddenly realize that everywhere is far away because you built the base at the end of the map and to get somewhere you need another 2 hours one way after when you come back with your things you die because someone kills you for no reason... waste of time
Nope, the devs are a team out of Croatia if I remember right. Which is what all the scenery/architecture is inspired from. But it is similar to DayZ. If you like that game, try this one out. They focus much more on the survival aspect instead of PvP with players
This is a good alternative! You can do strictly single player/offline and you have a TON of control on the settings (amount of puppets, loot, mechs, etc). I definitely recommend giving it a shot!
