I feel like this game is like that kid playing soccer in a park with friends with the dream to play in a big soccer team, and rocket league is that kid playing in the big soccer team.

I PLAYED THIS GAME ALL THE TIME. no one knew what i was talking about when rocket league came out.

I played this game religiously for about 5-6 years. It will always have a place in my heart. SARPBC forever 💚

Rocket league should release a “World Cup” expansion where they release a massive arena almost 3 times the size of the one we have now and make it like 8v8 with dynamic crowd reactions and the whole 9 yards.

If anyone cares, the floating pills are a reference to Unreal Tournament 2004, which psyonix made the vehicle physics for. In some game modes, you could get "adrenaline" both by killing players and by pickups which were floating white and orange pill capsules. at 100 adrenaline, players could use movement combinations for different powerups, one of which was extra speed. /funfact

Ah classic SARP. I played this game for years and years before RL came out. Such a classic, but there was in game voice chat in the games and thats how all of us sarp vets became friends. Miss this game for sure.

I remember having such a blast on this game playing splitscreen with my brothers. One of many amazing PS3 indie games. Also the maps were way more "party" friendly, like the pirate ship lol.

I can't believe how many memories this game brings back as a kid... This game wasn't big at all and you just had open servers to join instead of match making and I always thought the game had potential, then on next gen, out came a game called RL... Now it's pretty much the only game I play 😂

That beginning setup with trying to record anything on ps3 was so relatable 😂 giving me flashbacks to when I was trying to record on that, man it was awful trying to find work-arounds.

I used to play this with my cousins when it came out. I believe there was a game mode or just a map that allowed us to play on a boat. The boat would rock back and forth making it difficult to score because we ended up getting motion sick, but it was very fun at the same time and I wish they’d bring it into rocket league.

I got this when I was a kid but didn’t play any online games. Just bots and with my brothers. It’s nostalgic to see you play this :)

You just reviewed a game so old that the company who used to host the online servers went bankrupt... You should have seen what it was like back in 2011/2012. Full ranked playlists, TEAM RANKED, janky unofficial tournaments on sites you've never even heard of, but the youtube scene was amazing too. Jhzer was still posting compilations, coolcole, fysho, stevebills, sadjunior, kuxir, pluto, lachinio, etc., names we know today but in a completely different context. It wasn't about being the greatest player with the highest ranks. It was about how far you could stretch the physics of this game until it couldn't even keep up anymore. Ping pong galore with freestyling as the number one reason anybody wanted to get good. Oh, and people weren't so unbelievably ignorant that they realized the clear advantage of a game with multiple types of maps. Just 7 different arenas, some were clearly more popular but everyone, and I mean everyone, played on every single map.

None of my friends played it but I sank so many nights into it. Loved it from the get go. I remember the official forum where people would post videos and find friends and have little tournaments.

I only got ps4/RL in January of this year. Played sarpbc for a good 18 months or so before hand though. I feel like it was kind of my spiritual training for RL. The ball cam part you mentioned was the part that threw me the most. I didn't like the RL ballcam when the ball was high & directly above you. Got there in the end though. Pretty sure i've played with that silvestre dude too haha. Would always see the same ps3 peasants (like me) on sarpbc haha. Funny story though I was recently reuinted with an old sarpc buddy about a week ago in solo standard on RL. It was a very cool moment in my gaming experience. We started playing together and we instantly had the same old chemistry & teamwork. It was quite awesome.

Hey man I was a big SARPBC player back when it came out on Steam for free. I remember being so addicted to it and was always playing it with a friend of mine and I don't remember what happened but forgot all about it until Rocket League came out and I felt it looked so familiar to me and totally thought it was the same game for the longest time but found out it wasn't 3 years ago after picking up Rocket League on Steam. I am now 2,000 hours into RL and love playing a few games a day to keep me good. I feel like if I miss out a week or two I would have to play for a while again to keep being good but I do think the more you play the better you get no matter what so yeah there are people who have 4,000 hours into it that I know will be better than me but I do give them a challenge.

GUYS THERES ANOTHER ROCKET LEAGUE THAT CAME OUT BEFORE!! THE GAMES CALLED - Monster 4x4 (for the wii or wii u) It came out in 2006 - It was a moster truck racing game but you could play Mosnter Truck Soccer and its just like Rocket League.

I played this game so much on my ps3. Now my ps3 isnt broken but pretty much retired. The memories are still there

The minigames are what I remember the most about SARPBC, I loved that game growing up and got myself an alpha cap/beta nugget to show for it :)
