I totally agree. I like my cars and bike to be quiet as much as possible. I live a block away from a busy street and about half a mile away from a highway. I can't enjoy being in my backyard listening to loud cars and bikes drive by. The noise satisfies only the driver, but annoys many more.
Agree with you man. The only reason I considered a louder exhaust on my Rebel was because I think they sound better on the GoPro. But that comes at the cost of annoying every single human and other animals with ears within a 500m radius of your bike at all times. Cant do it lol
Me too..bought my 23 ninja 400 with a evo megaphone and after about 200 miles said nope and luckily they gave me the stock exaust so after I put it on fell in love with the bike 👍
Me too... I prefer the quiet stock exhaust. The main reason I changed mine is because I hated the way it looks (and it is very heavy). I have the db killer on thr after market one, so it is not too loud, but torn between them.
People tend to lane change into my lane when stock. It's better to have someone hear you, even if they didn't see your High beam. I'm in Southern California, every bit helps to be seen or heard. Lane Split Life, Safe Travels.
I could see having a loud pipe in a congested area like Southern California being a big deal. Especially if you’re lane splitting. I would still roll with a loud pipe riding in that area. I guess in my neck of the woods it’s very country and rural. Not a lot of traffic until you ride into the city, which I try and avoid. Thank you for your feedback! Ride safe ✌️
I won't lane split if drivers are moving or aren't side by side. It's just too risky. And also, lane splitting today is far more difficult than 20 years ago as the average width of vehicles has increased but the lane's widths haven't. But I don't think we lose much time as the average speed seems about the same.
My buddy has a R6 that looks beautiful. His exhaust (voodoo) looks great, but it’s so freaking loud. When we go on rides he can’t hear us and we can’t hear him over the comms if we are within 15-20 feet of each other.
