Engines and auto stop/start are emissions regulations, but the electronics is the relatively low purchasing power of enthusiasts. They give us lightweight, simple sports cars and they don't sell. I love my cars, but the fun/$ ratio is a huge reason I got into bikes as well.
Just got my 1990 caprice 9c1 clay barred, compounded and polished (ex detective cruiser 5.7 liter 350) back on the road after being parked nineteen years, only 106,000 miles. Purrs like a kitten, no rust! Getting my 2006 fz1 in 2 weeks, cant wait, no car payments, or new cars here.
That sounds like a tank of a car. I bet it’s really easy to work on. That FZ1 is gonna be a beast of a bike! I just looked up the specs, 150hp 😮!! Enjoy your new bike!
@@Dsanrides Yeah it is easy to work on, my Dad was a mechanic for 40 yrs, we got three of them at a police auction for 350 bucks a piece, two 1990s and one 1994, lol. The other one was a 1994 caprice with an lt1 motor. Your bike looks sweet, what are you riding? The fz1 is an awesome bang for the buck bike. Mid ten second quarter mile, and 0-60 in 2.7 seconds is crazy fast for 4500 bucks!, and be comfy while doin it! Great job Man, stay safe!
@@Dsanrides Sweet, nice ride! thats what I should be getting, a 400cc, lol, used to ride my buddy in the marine corps 1990 ninja 600zx6, (scared the shit out of me, and i stayed close to base, lol) but im counting on my Marine discipline with the throttle hand with the fz1...even though its been thirty years since i was in the Marines, lol. Stay safe Man
Perfect frame rate, perfect color grading, perfect music, and perfect commentary. Great king work man. I need to get my Magna road-worthy again and ride; it's been almost 4 years since I've enjoyed anything outside of my home.
What you said at 00:28 is the exact reason a 400 can be better than any other bike category for many people, on a 1000 when you crank that throttle you'll feel like you're traveling tru time haha. When you got that speed addiction even a 150cc scooter will get you in trouble, specially on the twisties. Personally Im more of a fan of the acceleration rather than the top speed. I got my ECU flashed yesterday and let me tell you man..The throttle feels so much more responsive and so much faster in acceleration, and it makes it hard not to want to open that thing up haha. Have you looked into flashing your ECU as well? Stay healthy man!
ECU flash on a 1000 sounds insane! 😮 Did you get to open it up and do a fast pull? I’ve been thinking about a flash for a couple years, but just never got around to committing yet. It’s still on the list for mods. Cheers man!
@@Dsanrides I did man, I'll be making a video riding her with that new ecu flash soon. but honestly it changed the bike for me. If you ever feel like you're getting "bored" of your bike an ECU flash will change her in many ways and make her feel like a new bike again!
I have used a technique, this is coming from a CBR600RR and YZF R1 experienced rider. I always take it easy and only go 5 over the speed limit. However, I have my fun by launching off stop lights and getting to 5 over the speed limit as quick as possible, its alot of fun. Also, I have certain spots, where if there is no one around on a certain back road, I go through the gears and hammer it, but then when I get to the end of the road / spot where there is a stop sign /intersection, im back to riding calmly and going 5 over. Try it.
The launch is always addicting. Especially high RPM shifting! Finding a spot like that, good idea man. Still be able to get that rush. Thanks for watching
Yeah must remain in control to live every day. I say practice techniques and engrain them into my muscle memory, find a highway to go 75-80 in a 70 It’s not a skilled rider that has to worry about yourself but of others
I started on a Ninja 400 and it was an amazing bike. I have a Triumph Street Triple now but I would still have my Ninja if it didn't get stolen. Perfect bike to learn on if you're interested in sports bikes. It's a really good bike to ride around town and to take on twisty roads. You can use the whole powerband without breaking the law. The best thing is if you do decide you want to upgrade, you won't lose too much money as the value on them remains pretty high.
Start on a bike with disc brakes, start on a bike w a slightly lower seat height and lowest curb weight. Start on a bike w handlebars not clip ons. Should not be in an aggressive jockey position with extreme bends in legs and high foot peg position. Should not be very stretched out with significant weight and pressure on arms and shoulders. A sport bike position causes limits on peripheral vision, a more upright riding position allows better visibility and and more control. Aggressive body position is a bad start. Stopping, starting, braking, more not less rider mobility and vision is better for new riders, displacement of the bike is not as important as training and practice
One of my friends was riding with a guy who started riding a week prior, brand new 636. Sent himself into a barrier and died on impact. The truth is people will find a reason or argument to fit why they should get a bigger bike to start and a RU-vid video wont change that. Just be prepared to live with the consequences, or die from them 🤷🏻.
Wow… That’s a really sad ending. If only he had a second chance. Things happen too fast. I truly wish the best for anyone that starts on a bigger bike. Throttle discipline is so incredibly important on super sports.
"Speed has never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you". Yes you should be very careful, always, but never afraid. Fear will make you panic, and unable to take decisions. Try to asses situations that you know you won't be able to get out of. "If that truck suddenly decides to stop, will i be able to swerve or brake in time?" If the answer is no, give it some distance. Know your riding level, and try to learn something everyday, that's it.
Contact the FBI and continue working with your old pd and have them help you with the federal agents. All they have to do is verify your ownership and that the police recovered it. My father had a simillar experience.
1. Small bike + small mistake = small consequences 1.1 Small bike + big mistake = big consequences 2. Big bike + small mistake = big consequences 2.2 Big bike + big mistake = extreme consequences -Small consequences = easy to fix, cheap, no bodily harm. -Big consequences = hard to fix, expensive, some bodily harm. -Extreme consequences = cannot fix, breaks your bank account, handicap or death.
Definetly call up your local FBI field office or even better visit it in person. They might have their hands full all the time, but this is just a simple database operation that can be done in minutes once it gets on the desk of the right person. Don't give up, might take some months, but it's better than not being able to ride your first bike at all. It's your right to do so!
I’m not sure if this specific model will work with the 500. I know Kawasaki redesigned the seat a little bit. Aftermarket mods are starting to come out more for the 500. The installation steps are the same though.
Me hitting the highway on my 3rd day of riding. 😮 Well what’s done is done. 😂 Fell in love with it instantly. Rode on the highway all day today(4th day riding). 🤷♂️
@@Josh-ew1le my front right fairing get cracked when a car clipped it. It smashed the clip in a little bit. It’s interesting you mention that though. I get wobbles sometimes when I take my hands off the bars. I need to look into it closer. Thanks!
I always tell people to buy the smallest bike you can that will accomplish what you want. When I lived in the city, I had a 125cc scooter. When I had to move out to a rural area and rode mostly rural highways, I bought a Kawasaki z400. When I started riding on the interstate 45+ minutes each day for my commute to work, I bought a Honda NC750X. I miss having the light weight of the 125cc. It was so much fun to ride. I like my NC750X once I am moving, but getting that damned thing out of less-than-ideal parking spots like dirt, gravel, damaged pavement, a hill, etc. is not as enjoyable.
Man getting your bike stolen has to be one of the worst feelings in the world. And how crazy is this 5:42 your bike got stolen, you have to pay for it to be recovered AND you got a headache just to be able to re-register her? That’s crazy man…. Also, when are you taking the Ninja 400 on the Tail of The Dragon? I bet she’d be fun out there!
It was a really bad day, but the feeling of getting it back was incredible! Live and learn, I now have full coverage always. Another Tail of the Dragon trip is gonna happen! Just have to wait, they are repaving the road this Summer.
I've never enjoyed interstate riding. Never, not since Day 1, and still don't. I ride them as a little as possible, only when I have no choice to get somewhere. I'm amazed there are guys who are totally into it, and buy touring bikes, and riding on interstates is almost all they do. Didn't they have a motorcycle called the Honda Interstate? Well, to each their own. But I don't get it.
Nice job! I just bought my first real MC, I've been riding maxi scooter for 4 years. Yesterday was my first practice day on the Triumph. Practice is where its at. Keep at it!
@@Dsanrides nah man i ride. but you're literally personifying the shit that south park mocks bikers for. your entire personality is 'aww yeah people are so mad that i'm riding a motorcycle haha yeah i'm such a nuisance.' no one cares. there's a reason you have 300 subscribers and no one watching your videos. try making good content and you might be relevant.
Im buying an xsr900 (power wise equal to cbr600rr) becasue i outright refuse to spend *thousands* of dollars on something i dont want just to learn to make strangers feel better about my saftey.
You make a good point. The 400/500 class is amazing fun. But if you never see yourself riding one, then you already know. There’s no rules, just opinions. I sat on a red and white xsr900 last week. They look and feel like amazing bikes. More comfortable than the MT09. I wish you well.
Its crazy how much low speed maneuver practice helps and makes you more confident. 10-15 min after each ride is huge. Something that really helped me with full lock turns and u-turns, look exactly where you want to go, turn your whole head to look behind you through the turn (also try drawing a mental line where you want your front wheel to go). Never stop improving bro!
