I put a formula 1 tail light / rain light on my surron ebike! Is this the best rear light upgrade for a Sur ron?? I'll pin a comment with all the parts to make this mod yourself.
Alright logang, as promised here are affiliate links for the parts i used so you can make this light yourself: F1 Tail Light: amzn.to/3mgy27w Waterproof connectors: amzn.to/3MqQUeF On/off switches for strobing feature: amzn.to/41cBRJr You’ll also need wire strippers, crimps, heat shrink, and a couple other basic wiring tools! Let me know if you need any help.
The yellow wire just needs momentary power to make it flash - so you need to run power from your bike to your brake sensor (which is an open circuit at rest) then the other side of your brake sensor needs to go to the yellow wire. That way, when you grab your brake, the circuit closes and you supply momentary power to the yellow wire. Does that make sense?
Adding an actual brake light to mine with high/low. No idea why this isn't a standard thing. At least my Sting R has higo 2 wire plugs, so it's easy to get up and running.
Legit got this today and they didn’t include the he mounting bracket. Very disappointed. The reason I bought it was for the mounting bracket. Not trying to tape a light above the rear wheel.
Bro your glasses sit on you in a weird way. T ry to expand those little nose thingies so the frame will sit a little lower on your face - trust me it's gonna look better ;)
good eye! It’s just an amber light pod from Amazon that I wired up - very similar to Baja designs but about 1/10 the price lol. I’ll cover it in an upcoming bike update!
yep! The brake sensor acts as the momentary switch in that circuit to send voltage to yellow, which makes the light flash. but the little in-line switch can totally disconnect that circuit so the yellow can’t get any voltage - hence, it disables the flashing feature as long as the in-line is switched off.
That’s your 12v power source and common ground - they need to both go to the corresponding red/black wires on the new light so it glows constantly, but you also need to splice in the yellow wire to the red power source, run that whole brake switch circuit, and have that terminate at the yellow wire on the light. That way you can send momentary voltage from red -> yellow to make it flash!
how tall are you, im thinking about getting the ron but im 6ft2 and im scared of dropping 7k on a bike thats too small. please @ me in the replys so i get an email. much love, keep pushing out solid content
I'm about 6'3"-6'4". It definitely takes a couple adjustments (peg drops and wider riser bars are the main ergonomic changes I made) and doesn't feel like a big bike really. Kinda depends what you're looking for, I love the mountain bike size personally, but some people our height prefer the Ultra Bee.
@@logan-taylor i plan on riding on the road mainly (uber eats & door dash), maybe some light trail riding on my free time, do you think those modifications you listed along with a seat riser and a lunacycle dulux seat and adjusting the suspension to make it stiffer would make it a little more comfortable for someone thats gonna ride this thing sitting down 99% of the time? i dont plan on this thing being some 450cc monster nor do i want a huge bike as im new to "MoToRcYcLeS" but i also dont want to buy something thats more suited for a 15yo american or average chineese man(when upgraded for height). i also dont wanna look goon big chimpin' on a mini bike lol
ahaha you’ll probably be totally fine with those mods, but if you can test ride one first do it to make sure. Also, currently light bees fly under the radar, whereas ultra bees definitely look more like a dirt bike than an ebike. Other than battery range, light bee is probably better for your uses
