I put real wood chips in my pellet smoker. The pit boss leaves a little to be desired in the volume of smoke category so we put real wood chips in! Get the chips here: Get the Pellet Smoker here $600!!!!: amzn.to/3NhRFFF
I wonder if you can get a smoke tube, fill it with wood chips, and put it under the diffuser, right on top of the round pellet burner hole. I don’t want the acrid bitterness from smoldering wood.
I like using wood chips in my smoke tube. I usually have 2 smoke tubes for longer cooks and just one for shorter cooks. Light one up and place it in along with the meat. Then after about 4 hours it’s burnt out so I light up the other one and put it in there. I figure 8 hours of smoke tube and the pellet smoke is enough for briskets. I get the real wood smoke that way since I use wood chips in the smoke tubes.
Thats the same results we had when we tried them on the Vertical Pellet Pro from Smoke Daddy Inc. It worked for a while but jammed up. Its a good Idea but watch out for jams. Try putting ONE large wood stick on top of you heat diffuser for more smoke. You may want to soak it before you put it on top of your heat difuser.
Huh. I’ve got a treager. I got it for smoking bacon. I use a amazing maze smoker at the same time but it’s nice to not have to worry about the temp falling off if you forget new pellets every hour
I did this yesterday and started with Smokehouse hickory chips from Amazon. Much smaller than what you used but I had a difficult time getting my temps up over 200. Chips easily went through auger and smoke was definitely there. Did this at night so I went to bed and didn't see much. long 15 hour cook that I had to finish in the oven then 12 hour rest at 155. Taste was great but not the texture. I'll try again with a 2/3 1/3 mix instead of 50/50 on my GMG.
@@EagleRun23 I've always wanted a smoker. However, it seems I'm going to have to replace my Weber grill first, as parts are no longer available. Best grill I've ever owned.
I've used aluminum foil to smoke on the grill. (Damp apple wood inside) The food needed to be moved to the upper rack for a better smoke wash on a gas grill.
😅😅😂😂😂 that's why they say to only use them on a real American and Texas made pellet smoker! That's the Lone Star Grillz Pellet Smokers! Y'all need to go get yourself one of them LSG pellet smokers.
Well, I think you might be wrong. Works great at about five or 10%. I’m getting extra smoked. I’ve used it several dozen times since the video went public.
