All these people on the comments crying about "What a waste of a crappie this. I would have ate the crappie that." etc etc pure criticism. Let the man be.You all can go fish as you please and do whatever you want when you get your own 14" crappie. SMH Nice video.Nice cat! Greetings from Mexico 👍
I wasn't sure if I was going to subscribe...until you started talking about Jesus. That did it for me! I'm subscribed, and I'm happy to be a Child of the King, too! Praise God for that! He didn't have to save me, but he did!!!
All the people bellyaching over using a 14 inch crappie as bait for a flathead have clearly never tangled with a good sized flathead. Smallmouths and Flatheads are the 2 hardest fighting fish I've ever tangled with. But flattys get a lot bigger than smallies.
@@LL_29_Cache I didn’t even say anything. Just tired of sifting through RU-vid videos about fishing and having to hear religious shit in a lot of them.
We have a local river that has given me and my fishing buddy 4 flatheads last year. Each one was caught on night crawlers. We had two 25 pounder’s, one 35 and one 45 pounder.
A 25 pound blue is worth a boatload of flatheads to me! Blue's are the best tastin' 'cat there is, and I could make several months of dinners from a huge blue. Honestly, 'cats over 20 pounds USUALLY have alot of wasteful fat. Har' in Okra-Homer, years ago up on Spring River, my Grandma and me caught 3 blue's that totalled about 20 pound. We fried and ATE my 8 pounder on the bank for "breakfast" with Paw-Paw's help. We got some channel cats too using crappie for bait. You probably know, ain't NOTHIN' tastes like one that was swimmin' a half-hour ago fresh-cooked on the banks!
God bless the states the foreigners haven't screwed up the fishing. Not naming any nationality but here in California were lucky to catch a 6lb anything. All Fishermen should follow regulations regardless of nationality ! Local law should be followed at all times !
That's exactly what happened to the catfish population at my favorite lake! They had to up the legal size and then decrease the daily bag limit because They would literally fill up buckets of 12 inch channel and blue cat's. 😅 They measure them from the longest whisker to the lengthist of tail fins. I'm talking catfish with six inch bodies, and when they can't catch em with hooks, they start throwing cast nets and running gil-nets, but they always end up littering the ground with thousands of shad! It's gotten so bad that they've even managed to hurt the baitfish population and Whenever I clean catfish they have nothing but moss and grass in their bellys! 😢
Lol...every one where I live mistakenly calls green sunfish " perch" ... Perch, true perch are a gamefish and not allowed as bait in most states. Most likely this gentleman's " perch" are actually sunfish. I was at a fishing seminar once and a Northern pro fisherman freaked when he heard folks saying they used " perch" for bait. I had to explain that southerners oflen call green sunfish " perch".
The bait stores at the Mississippi river aux Bose from Cape Gerardo To tunica, cut off just below memphis and on farther about thirty or forty miles south sell huge fantail goldfish Just like they sell menows They work best of all especially if you're fishing with yoyo's and trot lines
Love the video! but I always believed that fish was pronounced croppie, even though its spelled crappie, so I looked it up and the pronounce it right web site says Croppie is the correct pronunciation, Thank you for the video have a Blessed day😁 Trump 2024!!
Where exactly is it legal to use game fish as bait?.... More importantly why would you take a delicious fish to catch a garbage fish most likely full of worms?
Yes...thank you! A muskie, pike or huge walleye...I'm with it...but wasting the slab of a crappie on a fish without fins & scales in pretty much blasphemous! Nah.. just bustin his ball! Have fun & fish folks!🎣🎣🎣💯😛😛
It's like this. It was his fish he used to catch a dandy. !! He can what he wants as long as it's legal if he's putting it out there to be seen by a bunch of karens!!😂
I live on a private lake and never tried crappie as catfish bait, but now I need to try it cuz my lake does have blue catfish and flatheads among many other fish species
I'm not sure what state you live in, but check the regulations before you do so. In my state, crappie is considered a gamefish, and it's illegal to use them
@@dereksteele2284 Yeah but you can easily get away with it on private lakes. I live in Georgia on a private 250 acre lake and tried almost everything for catfish bait, but even wardens aren’t allowed to trespass here cuz the land has a lot of history with my ancestors who came to an agreement with the government in the early 1900s. It’s a long story but the property was owned by my ancestors from way back in the early 1600s
@braxtonpierce8768 just because you have a low chance of getting caught doesn't make it legal. I also wouldn't be going online and telling someone about something i do that's illegal. I don't know what state you're from, so I really don't know whether it's illegal for you or not, but either way, it's not hurting my feelings
Where is this? In Minnesota everything you’ve been doing is illegal!!! Can’t use game fish for bait, on the river you cannot fish with more than 2 lines in the water!!! EXCELLENT VIDEO THO!!! Thank You 🙏
@@ShiningLightFishing Thank You 🙏 so much for the channel!! We have over 10000 lakes and THE STUPID FISHING REGULATIONS HERE ARE RIDICULOUS!!! By the way my Morrison family is from Elora TN. Right by Huntsville AL!! May The AWESOME LORD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY BROTHER!!!
@@survivingwith812catfishing go to the state of Tennessee TWRA rules and regulations for hunting and fishing website and look up the legal baits allowed and what is prohibited. Game fish are not legal bait in Tennessee. If you catch a bass or crappie in a cast net you must release it even if it is a baby fish. Game fish can only be caught by using a fishing pole in hand, no limb lines or jug fishing for them. I'm 60 years old and have lived and fished here for my entire life and know the laws well and anyone from out of state better read the regulations before going hunting or fishing here or pay the price
Crappie are also illegal here in Az and we used to have a one pole limit then that charged for a 2 pole stamp and now we can use 2 poles, but no baiting for deer and no trail cameras and only one deer per year, some years I get a nice buck with a bow then I get drawn for gun season and its a wasted tag not legal to do both but you can buy a archery tag over the counter and get one in the draw? The Game and fish or as we call them coot and carp commission SUCKS here! So I go to Oklahoma for deer we get 6 each!
Crappie is good eating. You need about 10 though. 2 crappie. You will still be hungry put it that way. Obviously he is fishing for sport. For big fish.
