The first test run after getting my truck out of the shop started good, but ended up being a fail. Soooo..... back to the shop it goes 😔

@@davidwoermansr NO, I'm saying only a punk bully tries to be a big man by putting spikes on an already big truck. But remember, eventually you will have to get out of your big truck. And those things look lethally dangerous. They might justify using full force when someone stands his ground against them. Be careful not to try to intimidate the wrong man. Those spikes are too low go through a window and give a driver more than a headache.

This seems to be a shop that is into quantity, instead of quality work. Hopefully, this situation gets straightened out, but it's the stress and time wasted that's a pain in the rear.

I once took my 1993 Ford Probe to a quality shop which featured a one year warranty on labor. The Probe had a strange problem where it would die after it got to operating temperature, then restart when it cooled down. The shop would not test drive it enough to replicate the problem, so they threw some parts at it after 3 days and sent me on my way. I stopped for gas after a two mile drive, and it would not restart. Back to the shop it went, to be fixed under warranty now.. Two weeks later and over $2500 in parts thrown at the thing, they finally replaced the faulty part......the condenser. In retrospect, everyone, me included, realized that the condenser was the most obvious point of failure.

Unless he takes it to the next larger city, I doubt that there are that many shops that do work on that type of engine but I could be wrong. I wonder if the shop could find a roll off that he could drive while his is in the shop for the 4th time? Can't make money with it if it is stuck at the shop. I sadly stopped going to a mainly only Subaru shop after the business got sold and things started going downhill. They even used to sell used Subaru's with a 6 month warranty. I only used that warranty once on an alternator that decided to quit working. Now, no more warranties on their used vehicles and several other things changed. I was a Suby owner for 23 years and didn't keep them that long since I buy 12-25 yr old vehicles. I used to have a delivery job and my Legacy and Outback Wagon's never did get stuck in the 27" snow storms that we can get in the suburbs of Denver Colorado. Still have one but it is parked until I have time to work on it.

Didn't Casey say this was a dealer? I would hope they knew what they were doing although it clearly seems they do not! Probably not that many dealers around to be able to just switch shops but sounds like he may be better just taking it to a good diesel mechanic shop and skipping the fact that they are a "dealer"

SHOP REPAIR: umm they didn't even fire it up to hear a ROCKER ARM bouncing around let alone test drive it after. They are suppose to check all there work before calling the customer. FAKE SHOP, time to find another one of have the owner make it right and eat the NON REPAIR cost to try to earn you business back. Whata joke! Added them to AVOID LIST!

Casey, I do know from personal experience that having something sticking out past the overall width on a truck makes people go pass you with more clearance. I guess it is an automatic reaction. I wonder if that is why you like those spikes. In conclusion, they are actually providing you with a better safety margin.

Glad to see someone who doesn't pander to this trend going on now where everyone razzes everyone over safety. It is unsettling to see how far they will go to find things to complain about and its just getting worse. You are probably the most thorough and diligent recovery person I have ever seen and balanced well enough that anymore would lean to the extreme, any less to the other. I never cared one way or another about tire spikes but those "impalers" you are sporting there might change my mind.

We all know that certified ISOs (Internet Safety Officers) have the credentials and experience in every aspect of doing anything. I worked a refinery job where the Refinery Safety Officer made the job so unsafe with his safety rules that that in came close to killing people. He didn't like the look of a dump truck and trailer with both boxes raised to spread gravel (roll along at about 8 to 10 mph, trip the trailer gate, wait a second then trip the truck gate and make one continuous spread and roll out the other end and clean off.) The safety officer insisted we spread the trailer first, then back straight up and try to keep the trailer on top of the loosely spread gravel as another truck was spreading parallel 2 feet beside. We managed to not break anything or hurt anyone, but that was the hard way of doing things.

Yes, a very Happy Birthday Corrina. I'm glad that Casey was there for it. Casey, even though I would have never put those spike covers on any truck I drove, I did use the ones that looked like a castle nut. They were stainless steel though. Its up to you how you want to dress your truck. I would tell the truck shop that you have a u-tube channel and everything they goof up on your engine repair is being seen by a lot of people. Maybe your should start looking for another shop.

I am one those people! Those spikes are pure intimidation to a passenger car. Running side by side on the interstate at 70MPH with those spikes running a foot or two away is very scary. I am a conservative driver and give trucks every courtesy I can. Since you enjoy pissing people off, maybe I'll stop being courteous to trucks with spikes and make them squeeze at the intersections. Since they are just plastic, then what does that say about you? "I drive a big truck! and I enjoy scaring old people with my spikes!" Maybe in a past life you were a Roman Chariot driver and would like to relive some of the carnage. You think since they are plastic they wouldn't do any damage, Stick your foot in there when they are at 70MPH and prove it.

I watch them and between the trucks (that i uses to drive) and the tow trucks ( used to do that when i was younger) it makes having to do nothing but sit here because of disability a little easier. I know my comments are a little late, but a Maverick is not a bed on frame, construction it's a unibody, inexpensive, looks like a pickup truck, works like a light pickup truck, can tow a couple thousand pounds, and mine's a hybrid, gets 40 miles to the gallon. That's why it's good. I love it. I also like watching you guys drive all over and haul people out of messes. Really interesting. Great Videos!!

Spike lug nut covers are only intimidating if you're a person who has some WEIRD issues with trucks.. they're perfectly legal ACCESSORY ITEMS just like the 3 prong "spinners" on automobile center caps... Again , if truck wheel accessories INTIMIDATE you then seek professional help and get a life....

🤬🤬🤬🤬 Oh my god, those spikes! 😡🤬😡🤬..... Sorry... 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Not only do they look hilarious, but people going crazy over them are just hilarious... I don't live near any tunnels here in Illinois, but my mother always told me back when I was little when we went across an old rickety backroad wooden bridge... Hold your breath... 😳... For some reason, there are no bridges like that anymore... I always love them, though, lol 😆 One of these days, I hope to get over to The Old Wabash Cannonball Train Bridge, 300 miles away in St. Francisville, Illinois, It's actually used for vehicle traffic these days, but they are planning on replacing it soon, so I gotta get there... If you're in the area, I don't really recommend you take the toe across it, my uncle said he went across at once in the semi, said it was nerve racking, but you could if you want, lol

As for the Spikes,people watched too many movies with Spikes shooting off and piercing armor proof vests and vehicles and ripping cars and people apart lol...Yes,plastic spikes are so,so deadly! My husband has a Ford Maverick, it is a hybrid one. WE LOVE IT!! It gets about 40 MPG average. He has a side woodworking business and he hauls his hardwood in it. Sorry about your truck. Keep your chin up. This too shall pass.

Casey, after a SECOND fail of this shop's services I think it would do other drivers out there a favor to know what shop it is... Money grabbing businesses need to be exposed to protect future victims. As I remember you have spent about $8000 so far? - sick - God bless you.
