I'm planning on going this year but it's really only possible because I have other friends going, I live in LA, and I have no day job so I can definitely see how you decided to not participate. Was hoping to see ya there but next time!

But let me tell you I went last year without even having played some of the games and I had a ton of fun and even won a game of Dune in competition because of your channel (it was only the 5th time I had ever played!). Hope you reconsider and just have fun with it.

I went to the first year, but this year it’s entirely on weekdays. Kidding me? People don’t have jobs? I’m not dropping a full week of PTO on it.

Congratulations on your decision! When you set a goal for yourself and you don't enjoy the journey - the path that leads to it -, you know it's not a good goal for you. And even though you already put a lot of effort into it and maybe set some expectations in the minds of others, you didn't fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy. More time to enjoy that which you love - Dune, videos, and fiancée :)

I can fully understand your decision and will support you on your way no matter what. Despite the struggle in prep for WSBG, did you pick up any games you have enjoyed in the process of preparation?

Hey Orski! Thanks for letting us know what you have been thinking and feeling lately. I appreciate the honesty and don't want you doing things that you are not passionate about. I love your content not because you win, but because how you colour commentate the games. Your videos have been great and I have been hanging out for more, but I understand why you have not felt like making them. Definitely go with whatever pulls you with boardgaming. Have fun, muck around. When you have fun, it shows in your videos, and that is what the majority of us are here for! Take your time, do what you want in your spare time and I shall continue to keep a lookout for more content, whatever shape that takes. Take care mate! I don't know man, on one hand dealing with tournament level 4 players Arc Nova sounds absolutely like a total pain on the other... had I lived in USA I would go for this tournament, In the past i was riding to many capitals and cities, Praque, Utrecht, Warsaw to play at GPT Magic tournaments. I never won much money, usually I was winning just enough to cover tournament entrance but cost of housing, driving and food was something I had to pay on my own but It was always a great fun. The best solution to cost issue is to just plan such tournament with someone else. Renting and driving with 4 people would make such expenses much more sensible. Back in my days every outside country GPT was coordinated basically over entire Poland. We would rent one big apartment, split costs equally etc. Not only you could win some moneys but having youtube records of tournament like this would be excellent watch.

Well that's too bad but super understandable. I enjoyed the dune content which brought me in but I'm an extremely avid board gamer and was really digging the other stuff, especially because the WSBG was definitely not something I'd be capable of currently (for myriad reasons) so there was some definite vicarious energy there I do enjoy your content though so I look forward to where you go

I thought that was a big task to do in a year. I know I wouldn't even try to do anything like that. but your vids are awesome to watch with whatever board game content. (insert eclipse second dawn recommendation)

The games you were practicing, are all good games, so I understand. Just keep playing them for fun.

I'm curious what else did you learn besides Mars, Ark Nova, and of course Dune? How were they? Which one did you like or which you don't even want to play anymore and why?

This series was much more fun than Dune but I've checked the views numebrs and WOW you are completly right. Dunes is quite medium heavy game propably that's why It get more audience. People don't like too hard games :P But I would love your grinding videos of Brass / Gaia haha I only "like" Ark Nova and it was really fun so the video about some masterpiece like Brass would be great :D But yeah if you spend so much times and the "views" is 5 x worst than simple Dune video it's totally understandable that you don't want to waste your time. But I would like to let you know that Terraforming and especially Ark Nova was fascinating video :D
